Greetings, dear visitor. I am known as Dimentio; master of dimensions and pleaser of crowds. Remember the name well. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have~! ASK BOX: OPEN
(( OOC: Should have answered this soonerYes, it's active now; I took a long break due to college stress from last semester. However, as I'm only taking one class right now, I should be active again soon!I might be opening a blog for Iggy Koopa too sometime soon, so there's that. ))
(( OOC: I feel so bad for not being active on here for like a week. I have questions to answer, yet I completely forgot about this blog for a while there. I'm so sorry!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving like I did, and I'll be getting back to replies shortly.
Until then, if anyone would like to start some rps with me, that would be splendid! ))
“I can’t have you around the count. If I am rid of you here, I won’t be found out. And the others will never find you. Yes, this is my moment to grasp. It’s time to take your final bow, Ciao… Mr. L! ★ ”
Dimentio wasn’t always an evil being. In fact, he came from a small but notorious family of magicians that eventually played an indirect yet still very important part in aiding the four heroes in their quest during the events of Super Paper Mario. Very specific events occurred in the past that drove a once sane and generally caring Dimentio into a state of mental trauma, which ultimately resulted in insanity.
Dimentio was the son of a man who was a very powerful and widely respected dimensional magician, whose name is unknown. Dimentio lived with his father and his mother, as well as his much younger little sister (which he absolutely adored) in a huge, beautiful dimension that was created by said father; in a way, his family was considered royalty of this dimension. Also created by his father were the Pixls (long before Dimentio and his sister came to be); which were designed specifically to aid the heroes of the Light Prognosticus in a prophecy that would eventually come far in the future.
At this time, Dimentio wasn’t the strongest in magic. He was constantly being coached by his father in order to learn the ways of their family’s magic; such as self-duplication, flight, teleportation, magic projectiles, and the creation of entire separate dimensions. It wasn’t easy work, but nevertheless, Dimentio was always determined that he’d somehow, someway, come to be even as good at magic as his father was, despite his unmatchable power.
Of course though, what came with power also came eventual weakness as Dimentio’s father grew slightly older and became sick with a violent illness. In order for the dimension in which the family lived to remain intact, its creator must remain strong as well; strong enough to support it. Weakness or death might cause the dimension in its entirety to fall apart; which is exactly what happened on one horrible day.
One day, the dimension that Dimentio’s father had created for his family and their people/followers, began to collapse. The ground shook and seams began to ‘tear’ in the dimension’s foundation. Horror struck Dimentio and his family as buildings began to collapse, many residents of the dimension becoming crushed under the rubble that was created. Naturally, his father decided that there was no way to save anyone now; he and his family in the least had to be evacuated to another dimension before even further tragedy struck.
Partially, his father was too late. A few moments of time passed and he and his daughter watched his wife and his son, Dimentio, in sheer terror as the two were seemingly crushed underneath the collapsing building that they had called home and killed on impact. At this point, there was no time to waste. In an attempt to save himself and his daughter from the destruction, the magician used the little strength he had maintained from being sick and teleported himself and his daughter to a neighboring dimension that was very far away from this dying one. In this dimension, they were immediately taken in as residents; but little did they know that while the magicians wife was unfortunately killed, Dimentio on the other hand, while badly injured, had merely slipped into a state of unconsciousness.
Some time later, Dimentio was eventually drawn back to consciousness. He awoke with a gasp, finding everything to be dark as he was painfully buried in layers of rubble. In took a long time for him to finally move enough to get free, but he was soon able to drag himself out of the wreckage of the building that was once his house. What he found upon getting out made him feel sick to his stomach.
The dimension that he’d lived in his entire life looked to have been drained completely of color. The world surrounding him was nothing but vast, bright white space. The wreckage of buildings scattered about as well as the ground itself were all a deep black shade, with its details only outlined in thin lines of white. There was nothing; no life, no people, no voices; but worst of all, his family was nowhere to be found. Although he was covered in scrapes and bleeding gashes, Dimentio was sent into hysterics as he frantically searched within the empty world for any signs of his parents and his sister.
The search was unfruitful. Dimentio, while torn to pieces emotionally, was forced to sit in the loneliness of the empty dimension and think about what to do. He eventually realized that he had to get out of this dimension and at least try and search for his family, hoping that they had made it elsewhere. The only problem with that though was that Dimentio wasn’t the best at magic then, especially teleporting all the way to different dimensions. So, with that in mind, he searched among the wreckage for any books on magic and took time to heal and brush up on his magic.
After what felt like a long time, Dimentio knew enough magic to get out of the empty dimension that he’d been trapped in. Not taking anything with him, he teleported out the dimension and began searching among other dimensions one by one, peacefully looking for answers on the whereabouts of his family.
Meanwhile, Dimentio’s father wasn’t getting better. What made matters worse was the fact that the young girl who was Dimentio’s sister had caught the illness from her father. She wasn’t nearly as powerful enough to handle it though, so after a few weeks of fighting to stay alive, she passed away. Losing who he thought was the last piece of his family wasn’t doing any good for the magician’s health and wellbeing either, and soon, following the death of his daughter, his last life was taken by the sickness that had claimed him. Dimentio had no way of knowing this, until he had finally managed to reach the dimension that his father and sister had evacuated to.
Upon reaching said dimension, Dimentio asked around about his family. He received answers quickly, only to wind up completely devastated by the news that everyone he’d been looking for had passed away. He didn’t understand why all of this had to happen to him, and while now dealing with even more extreme emotional instability, he was given a temporary home in order to recover.
Dimentio spent some number of months living in this dimension, though he was completely detached from society. He barely ever communicated with any of the residents there, instead keeping to himself and using the time to keep on practicing magic. Months turned into years and soon, Dimentio became so good at dimensional magic that he began to refer to himself as the Master of Dimensions. He went as far as to create a tiny, separate dimension where he would go to be alone and give him time to think. Although he was highly respected by fellow residents, things soon began to take a rather dark turn.
Dimentio grew angry. He hated having to live everyday to see everyone else around him happy with their families. He didn’t get why he had to have his family ripped away from him cruelly while everyone else got to keep theirs. So, he devised a plan. He didn’t want to die, but he didn’t want to live to see everyone happy either, so he searched through books of all sorts until he remembered the existence of the Dark Prognosticus. At this moment, he realized that he had to find that book, and he had to use it to take everything from everyone. He’d destroy every dimension and everyone along with everything in them, then use his ability to create dimensions in order to replace the destroyed worlds with new, perfect ones. Ones where he could be isolated; where he could rule everything and only he would be happy.
After finding out that the Dark Prognosticus was not in the dimension in which he lived, he destroyed everything in it. Lives were taken and the dimension was plunged into collapse, and Dimentio left to once again search among other dimensions to find this book, the Dark Prognosticus.
Every dimension that held no answers, Dimentio destroyed. It was one after the other, in a seemingly never ending cycle. Dimentio became absolutely obsessed with violence and while he was good at hiding his insanity, he was always bloodthirst in a shell of fake innocence. After a long while of searching for the Dark Prognosticus though, he finally came across the book’s current owner; apparently a man of a dark tribe, known as Count Bleck. He located Count Bleck and approached him on his own, introducing himself and telling the man that he had learned of his motives and wanted to join his cause.
Count Bleck turned Dimentio down at first, much to the jester-like magician’s dismay. It wasn’t until Count Bleck noticed a mention of someone that resembled Dimentio within the scripture of the Dark Prognosticus that he went back to Dimentio and asked him to join as a minion, in which Dimentio was glad to accept.
From here, the events of Super Paper Mario began. Dimentio moved into Castle Bleck in order to meet and work with his other minions; Nastasia, O'Chunks, and Mimi. He honestly didn’t like any of them very much at all, but he didn’t let that show for the most part.
About halfway through the progression of the dark prophecy, Dimentio learned of Count Bleck’s true intentions. Having gotten into a nasty habit of using invisibility to eavesdrop on the Count and his conversations with Nastasia, he learned that Count Bleck not only wanted to eradicate everything and everyone, but he also wanted to keep it that way. He didn’t want to create any new worlds at all! Angered by this, Dimentio devised yet another plan; he needed to take down Count Bleck and take control of the created Chaos Heart and Dark Prognosticus, and he needed to use it to progress with his original plan. So, he began periodically stealing the Dark Prognosticus and reading its contents. That was where the four heroes came in, as Dimentio knew that he wasn’t powerful enough to take the Count down on his own.
Dimentio ensured that the heroes would reach Castle Bleck and collect all of the Pure Hearts they needed to destroy Count Bleck, helping them get out of harms way in various situations. In the end, when he finally spoke to Mario and Luigi about joining his cause, he was turned down. Despite this, he had a backup plan. The Dark Prognosticus mentioned a man in green, and Dimentio knew that this had to be Luigi. So, after being 'defeated’ by Luigi in a one-on-one fight in Castle Bleck, he kidnapped him and planted a mind-controlling Floro Sapien sprout seed in his brain. Then he let Luigi loose, allowing him to reunite with Bowser, Peach, and Mario, where the group used the Pure Hearts to take down the Count.
After Count Bleck was rendered powerless, Dimentio made an attempt to kill him, only to have Nastasia jump in front of the magic projectile he’d casted towards the him. At this point, the seed in Luigi’s consciousness grew into a sprout that appeared on his head. Dimentio teleported Count Bleck, Nastasia, and Tippi to Dimension D, where they were to wait for their imminent death. Dimentio then used Luigi and the Chaos Heart to turn into Super Dimentio.
Despite being invincible at first, in Dimension D, the Pure Hearts were miraculously revived, only to be brought back to Mario and his group by Tippi. The eight hearts broke Super Dimentio’s shield of invincibility, making it possible for defeat. Mario, Peach, and Bowser defeated him, causing a total breakdown of his reinforced, mechanic-like body. Luigi was ejected from the contraption.
As he was defeated, Dimentio managed to maintain his life energy long enough to allow the Void to expand and absorb everything; even though the exchange of Count Bleck’s and Tippi’s vows managed to halt and undo this. Due to his assumed death, he was powerless to stop the fixing of everything.
(( OOC: I have no time to answer questions at the moment, but I did have time to quickly doodle what Dimentio looks like without his mask/hat.
There are a few scars on his face due to his backstory (which is accessible from my blog), which is a big reason why he hates showing his face in the first place.
Chances are, he'll never intentionally show someone his face. The only way for him to do so would be if his mask was forcibly knocked off of his face, in God knows what way.))
