Damon Gant’s nephew, before the arrest Ray would spend every summer holiday with his uncle in the US (as he grew up in the UK) and saw his uncle as his biggest role model. For most of his childhood Raymond was sure that he was going to become a detective just like his uncle and help capture criminals but was left feeling lost when his uncles crimes were revealed. After a few months of aimlessness he eventually looked more into his uncles trial and got inspired by the prosecutor and defence attorney who helped send his uncle to justice and decided that he should go into law as it reignited his passion to fight crime, this time not to be like his uncle but to make sure he doesn’t turn out like his uncle.

When he used to spend summers with his uncle he was often left with Detective and later Chief Prosecutor Skye’s sister Ema and they had a sort of pseudo friendship/rivalry as they often butted heads.

After getting his UK prosecutors badge and working in the UK for a few years Raymond took the bar exam for the US and once he passed he transferred to the same office which his uncle used to work at, the Japanfornia office.

Apart from his lifelong obsession with justice, Raymond also enjoys designing clothes and fashion in general and is known for his extravagant clothes which he enjoys making in his free time to destress

Main Inter-personal Dynamics:

Ema Skye - Still feels guilt over what his uncle did to her and her sister, but finds her one of the few interesting people in his line of work to talk to.

Miles Edgeworth - Greatly looks up to him despite only meeting him briefly a few times before his uncle was arrested

Klavier Gavin - He admires his fellow prosecutors intellect though finds the rockstar act grating. Ray also empathises with the feeling of family you considered close not being who you thought they were

Vinnie Lull - Friend who he occasionally met with each summer when he went to America before becoming Pen-pals after he stopped going every summer. Now that Raymond has moved to America they are somewhat friends.

Kayn Eyen - The main detective usually assigned to work with Raymond on cases. They have a very interesting relationship, as they work well together yet as soon as they have to discuss anything not to do with a case they almost immediately start arguing.

Well.. this is a complex thing to answer. I’m not sure I’ve had my opinion on someone oscillate between indifferent to dislike so many times in such a short time span.

I just think we have fundamentally different ways of viewing the world which are just incompatible with each other. And this will prevent us from probably ever really understanding each other and seeing eye to eye.

I also do think that those who are close to Coulé should probably check up on him since he has been saying some concerning things but that’s not really my business to meddle in.

But well I suppose at this moment in time I would call it maybe a mild dislike?

I don’t dislike him enough for it to be hate and occasionally we may get along for a few minutes but not long enough for any friendship of any sort to form.

And I think you also fail to understand the job of a prosecutor Mr Coulé, a prosecutors job is to push against the defence, they both must work together to find the truth. My job is to play devils advocate against the defence as not all criminals appear as such on first glance, and you often need to dig deeper.

That is why I am not the only one in a court room making the choices on who is innocent and who is guilty, that is what the judge, jury and defence attorney are for.
