he has shaggy black hair that hangs barely below his shoulders. He normally wears baggy stolen clothes. He has half a tail. He always smells somewhat like rotting flesh.

Backstory: (trigger warning: self cannibalism)

he has no recollection of his past before being summoned. He was summoned at 21 worked in the dungeons, he’s killed multiple siblings and ghouls. When he was 22 he was locked in a cell by accident and forgotten, he’d resorted to eating his own tail, hence him having half a tail. He was released at 25 and ran out of his cell before anyone could grab him. Ever since he’s been lurking and siblings are warned to leave if they smell rotting flesh even though Rot is extremely timid.

When Miasma enter the gym he can hear quiet crying…it sounds like it’s coming from under the bleachers…?

Rots sitting under the bleacher as he cries, he want to play but he can’t. He wants his papa but he can’t find him. He doesn’t know where to go but he feels safe in the gym.

He’d originally gone to find Miasma but got super worked up when he couldn’t find Miasma either and ran to the nearest crevice in the gym, he’s all curled in on himself and shaking.

Miasma’s ear twitched in the direction of the weeping, hesitating before walking over to the bleachers.

“Whoever you are, you gotta come outta there.” Miasma called, not harsh, but not necessary sweet either. “There are plenty of other places to cry.”

“I no want too…”

It was definitely Rot, hiccuping between words.

He slowly scooted out from under the bleachers, looking up at Miasma all teary eyes

“Mia…”

Miasma didn’t have a problem with leaving ghouls unattended in his gym, but he wanted his eyes on this one. He wanted his eyes on him every second of the day since he met him.

So he sat on the bleachers, mostly paying attention to his phone where he was researching a hip dysplasia condition for a future physical therapy client, but aware and alert of anything Rot would do. That included when he stumbled and dropped his ball.

Miasma’s head snapped up, eyebrows pinching as he studied Rot for a moment.

“You alright?” His voice echoed through the surrounding empty gym.

Rot skittered over to Miasma all teary eyes and upset, he didn’t understand what just happened but he know that his wrist hurt a bunch and was bruising up already

“Mia why ow…?”

Rot handed his wrist over to Miasma, which was definitely at least sprained

“Let me have a look.”

He took Rot’s hand, holding it delicately as he looked over the deep bruising. He brushed his thumb over it, feeling the swelling.

“You’ve been playing too hard.” Miasma said as he stood up. “It is not broken though. Come, we will fix you up.”

He lead Rot to his office, where he sat the ghoul in a comfy recliner. He opened his mini fridge, pulling out a few ice cubes from a tray and wrapping them in a thin rag.

“Hold this against your wrist. It might feel a little numb after a minute.”

Rot winced at his wrist being touched while softly purring

he followed Miasma and sat awkwardly in the recliner, he gently kneaded the arm of the chair. Though now he wasn’t purring and looked somewhat guilty.

“Rots sorry Mia…”

Rot took the ice and pressed it a little too hard against his wrist because he did not understand the assignment

“Gentle-“ Miasma quickly corrected him, his voice naturally taking on a softer tone with this ghoul.

“Just like that. Try not to move it.”

He turned back, rummaging through some old bins that he was yet to organize. Eventually, he found a wrist brace. A little big for Rot, but it would do.

“Now, that’s a sprain.” He said, removing the ice and guiding Rots hand into the brace. “It’s not broken. Did you twist it while you were playing?”

Rot watched all of Miasmas movements with big teary eyes. He whined when the ice was moved before relaxing again. His tail was gently thumped his tail against the recliner, starting to purr again.

Rot curiously tilted his head seeing the brace, he didn’t remember what a brace was. He was a little confused when Miasma took the ice off his wrist and wince when it was set into the brace

“R…Rot went boom…falled into the…the floor…”

“Is that really your name?” Miasma laughed once as he strapped up the brace, shaking his heat a bit. “Rot?”

“Don’t take this brace off for two weeks, then come see me.” Miasma instructed, making sure it was snug. “No rough play until then, either. You have to keep it straight for it to heal.l

He paused, looking the ghoul over once more before opening his fridge and giving him a grape juice box, a small smile on his face.

Rot stared with big puppy dog eyes, still tilting his head. “Rot…think that was name..thinks so…”

Rot listened to Miasmas instructions but he looks a bit confused and upset at the no rough play.

“Rot…Rot no play…?”

He took the juice box and started slowly sipping

Miasma wrote down Rot’s name and a future date on a sticky note, pressing it against the wall.

“Who’s your summoner?” He asked, curious.

Rot kept sipping his juice box and messing with the brace

he is now chasing it in circles on all fours around the gym

Miasma entered his gym, the sight of another ghoul already spending time in there putting a big smile on his face.

The ball rolled towards him. He picked it up, fake throwing it a few times before drop kicking it. It flew across the gym, and he watched with glee as Rot scrambled to chase after it.

Rot scrambled, his tail wagging. He grabbed it and did a little roll across the floor before bounding back to Miasma.

He dropped the ball at Miasmas feet, waiting for it to be thrown again

“You want it?” He cooed, like he was playing with a dog. “You want it!? Run! Go get it!”

He threw it, hard, and it soared through the air once more.

Rot looked super excited, play bowing at Miasmas feet, making a weird attempt at a barking sound.

Rot immediately scrambled to get it again, almost running into the wall before barreling back towards Miasma.

But he was not angry. No, his eyes felt wet with tears, but nothing born of rage. He felt like he could hug Rot. This ghoul had done nothing but bring out the best of him, despite how harsh he had been to him at first.

A vaguely familiar part of himself hoped that he would bring out the best of him, too.

He grabbed the ball, not with his hands, but with his teeth. He growled playfully, reciprocating the playful bow from before, inviting Rot to a game of tug o’ war with the ball.

Miasma tugged back, adjusting himself so his back paws pressed firmly into the ground, pulling his whole body weight back against the ball. He snarled as he whipped his head around, squeezing his eyes shut with a playful smile in the corners of his mouth.

Miasma lost his grip as Rot began nudging and batting at him, snapping his teeth as the ball was torn from his mouth.

“Cheater.” He growled, all in good play as he bowed again, getting ready to pounce. “You should come and see what happens when you cheat in dodgeball!”

Rot took the ball and ran a few feet away, play bowing again

“I’m! Im not cheating!”

Rot chirped, his tail wagging happily as he waited for Miasma to pounce so he could try and beat Miasma again.

His voice was also noticeably less hoarse than normal

Miasma noticed Rots eagerness, the spark in his eye. It made his own heart beat to be part of someone’s betterment again.

He pounced. He tackled Rot, though he did not press him into the ground like he did before. Instead, he rolled them both over onto their sides, swatting and kicking at each other.

“Don’t waste your time going for the face-“ he advised through each swat he took, “the least likely thing one will get in during a fight is a bite- I can still swat you- see? See?” He began swatting him repeatedly, laughing.

“Aim for the limbs before you try to land any real hits-“ he suddenly grabbed at Rots arm, throwing himself on top of it and pinning it behind his back.

“Like this.” He held him there for a moment before rolling off.

“Give it a try.”

Rot swat at Miasma when he was tackled, playfully giggling like a little kit…a sound he hadn’t made in ages.

After a while of playful giggling and chirping he managed to pin Miasma, which me immediately started to purr and try to knead at Miasma like a gigantic cat….(even if he’s more of a goat)

He kept chuffing and purring, clearly very happy and content

Miasma grunted as his face was squished into the cold, waxed floor, but he smiled with pride.

“Good- Good job!” He strained, chuckling when the ghoul began to knead him.

“See? You’re tough. You don’t need to hide away.”

Rot chirped happily and kept kneading, he felt safe in here unlike the kitchen or really any other part of the ministry.

He stayed put, continuing to pin Miasma to the floor as he purred and his tail wagged

“Cheater.” He growled, all in good play as he bowed again, getting ready to pounce. “You should come and see what happens when you cheat in dodgeball!”

Rot took the ball and ran a few feet away, play bowing again

“I’m! Im not cheating!”

Rot chirped, his tail wagging happily as he waited for Miasma to pounce so he could try and beat Miasma again.

His voice was also noticeably less hoarse than normal

Rot has discovered the gym, mainly, he’s found a ball

he is now chasing it in circles on all fours around the gym

Miasma entered his gym, the sight of another ghoul already spending time in there putting a big smile on his face.

The ball rolled towards him. He picked it up, fake throwing it a few times before drop kicking it. It flew across the gym, and he watched with glee as Rot scrambled to chase after it.

Rot scrambled, his tail wagging. He grabbed it and did a little roll across the floor before bounding back to Miasma.

He dropped the ball at Miasmas feet, waiting for it to be thrown again

Miasma laughed with joy as Rot returned, and his tail began to wag as well. He picked up the ball.

“You want it?” He cooed, like he was playing with a dog. “You want it!? Run! Go get it!”

He threw it, hard, and it soared through the air once more.

Rot looked super excited, play bowing at Miasmas feet, making a weird attempt at a barking sound.

Rot immediately scrambled to get it again, almost running into the wall before barreling back towards Miasma.

He bumps into Miasmas leg before dropping the ball again

Miasma gasped before stumbling over, falling backwards as Rot collided with him.

But he was not angry. No, his eyes felt wet with tears, but nothing born of rage. He felt like he could hug Rot. This ghoul had done nothing but bring out the best of him, despite how harsh he had been to him at first.

A vaguely familiar part of himself hoped that he would bring out the best of him, too.

He grabbed the ball, not with his hands, but with his teeth. He growled playfully, reciprocating the playful bow from before, inviting Rot to a game of tug o’ war with the ball.
