  "No, all is quite alright, heh~" Jade smiled and nodded a bit. "So… Have you seen the others? How about Luke?~" before she could say anything he already gave a playful laugh but stopped and smiled, looking away.

A vivid blush rose to Tear's cheeks, and she turned away to hide it. And to think she was used to Jade's teasing by now. 

"T-The others, I have not heard from." She replied once she regained her composure, her cheeks still a faint, rosy hue. 

"...You and your teasing." She chuckled, shaking her head. "You haven't changed a bit." She smirked at him for about half a second, before looking away again. "I spoke with Luke not too long ago, to be honest." 

It was becoming more difficult to hide her blush, by now.

  "Well, not at all~ It’s just, that lately we’ve had certain issues. Thieves, people taking advantage of situations and stuff. It’s not common but we’ve been moving around the cities lately trying to find the responsibles for all the thing." he placed a hand on his head. "Out of it. All is normal: paper work, training and just the usual~" he nodded.

Tear nodded, pausing once more for respects sake. She looked forward again. 

"I’m sorry about all the problems, Jade." She replied sympathetically, but surprisingly turned to smile at him a little. 

"But you always seem to handle it so smoothly. It’s quite impressive."

"Ah, it’s no big deal. With someone like Peony being interested in helping too it’s no problem. You know, we have a lot of help around. So it’ll be solved real soon." Jade offered a kind smile at her, nodding a bit. "I do what I can. I guess I’m used to all this kind of work." he added.

"I suppose that's true." Tear chuckled, glancing away for a moment. 

"Well, then. I'm glad you're not too under pressure." She replied.

"And the emperor hasn't been giving you any trouble? That's quite surprising."

  "Well, not at all~ It’s just, that lately we’ve had certain issues. Thieves, people taking advantage of situations and stuff. Tear nodded, pausing once more for respects sake. She looked forward again. 

"I'm sorry about all the problems, Jade." She replied sympathetically, but surprisingly turned to smile at him a little. 

"But you always seem to handle it so smoothly. It's quite impressive."

  Jade returned and closed his office, giving some orders and telling some guards that he was going to leave for a while. He walked to Tear and smiled. “Alright. I guess I’m free now~” he teased and adjusted his glasses. “What would you like to do, Tear?” he asked.

His request had taken her off guard. She wasn’t expecting to be the one to choose the event of the evening. Jade was the captain, after all. But she found his offer to be quite flattering, however. 

"Oh? U-Uh, well, perhaps we could take a walk." She suggested, sporting a half-smile.

"Sounds good. Then after it maybe we can have a drink or something… maybe something to eat." he shrugged and smiled. "So… how have things been for you, Tear?" he asked, walking along with her.

She paused, but replied with a gentle grin. 

"I've been fine, colonel. Thank you." She looked ahead for a moment, before turning back to him. 

"Has his majesty been working you too hard?" She asked, not meaning to pry, but her curiosity was sparked.

  Jade returned and closed his office, giving some orders and telling some guards that he was going to leave for a while. He walked to Tear and smiled. “Alright. I guess I’m free now~” he teased and adjusted his glasses. “What would you like to do, Tear?” he asked.

"Oh? I’m sorry, I thought you’d be occupied." She replied, placing her free hand behind her back. 

"You’re welcome, colonel. I’m just glad it didn’t end up in the wrong hands. Although I am surprised you’re not busy. As for me, I’m not busy at all, either."

Resisting to look annoyed by his teasing smile, she attempted to read his expression again. Even after this long, it was still very difficult to tell Jade’s true feelings. From the looks of it, he seemed to be okay. 

"In that case, how are you, Jade?"

"Oh, I’m doing alright. I got myself a bit stressed but to be honest, that’s why I’m taking a break~" he replied, adjusting his glasses. "And yes, you are right. I’m glad you were the one bringing this letter. Hold on a minute. I’ll put this back at my desk and I’ll return so we can talk if you want or take a walk~" he added, returning to his office to keep the letter safe.

She hadn't realized she caught him while he was on a break. How lucky, she thought. 

"I'm sorry to hear that. Though I know not to worry to much about you, colonel." She replied, before nodding to his last statement and waiting patiently for his return. 

Now that she thought about it, spending some time with someone she considered her friend would serve her well.

Once greeted, Tear offered a faint smile. 

"Hello, colonel." She replied attentively, deciding to get right to the point and showing him the letter. 

"I believe this belongs to you. Somehow, it ended up in the hands of my grandfather." 

Glancing up at Jade, she received a sense that something was wrong. But it was close to impossible to read Jade’s feelings just by looking at him. She came to the conclusion of letting it slide until proven otherwise. 

"I understand you’re busy, so I’ll be sure to leave you be at my earliest convenience." She added.

"My, my~ You’re such in a hurry~" he teased and smiled, grabbing the letter. "Wonder who lost this. Anyway, Thank you for bringing this to me." he replied, adjusting his glasses. "I’m not busy at all. I was actually about to take a break from all the stress at the office. I’m not sure if you’re the one busy, but well~" he shrugged, smiling teasingly.

Tear glanced up again, her smile slightly more sincere. 

"Oh? I'm sorry, I thought you'd be occupied." She replied, placing her free hand behind her back.

  Tear had been visiting Jade’s place of business at the time, obtaining a letter that was accidentally misplaced. 

After being directed to his location, a soft knock was heard on the other side of the Colonel’s door. Knowing Jade was a busy man, Tear made sure that once he responded she’d leave as soon as possible.

Awaiting for him to open the door, she glanced down at the letter in her hands once more, her gloved thumb running over the imprinted characters that spelled out his name.

Jade stood up and opened the door. “Yes?” he called, looking for his surprise that it was Tear the one standing there. “Oh, hello, Tear. What brings you here?” he asked, not expecting the soldier to come around here that much.

Once greeted, Tear offered a faint smile. 

"Hello, colonel." She replied attentively, deciding to get right to the point and showing him the letter.

Jade sighed and adjusted his glasses, looking away, sitting at his desk in his office. He had a rough day and all he wanted is to relax and clear his mind after so many issues. 

The colonel knew he had been away for a while but he had so many chores and obligations.

"… Well, I guess I’m not the only one person with a lot of stress around~" he chuckled to himself.

Tear found Jade’s response to be slightly alarming, but by now, she was almost used to it. Almost. 

When he grew silent, she attempted to hide the glimmer of sympathy that recouped into her expression. Before she could begin to think of an appropriate response, Jade spoke up again, much to her relief. 

Positive that he was finished this time, her gentle smile came into view again.

"The study of fomicry isn’t an easy subject." She agreed. “Which is why I’ve come to admire you, colonel. And it’s not just me, either."

For about half a second, she smirks. 

"You’d be surprised. You’re quite the celebrity, you know."

"Hahaha. So much praise for such an old man… you really flatter me, Tear."

"Though I’m afraid, that ‘fame’ might not necessarily stem from the admiration of my intelligence…" Jade commented amusedly, fully aware of the stories that were told about ‘the Necromancer’ and his bloodcurdling ways of doing things. Which weren’t all made of fiction either.

"But well, maybe saving the world has helped at least a little bit with improving my reputation."

Tear could instantly tell what Jade was referring to. However, she responded to it with merely a gentle smile. Perhaps a hint of nervousness traced across her lips as well. 

"Hm. Perhaps." She replied with a small nod, her smile growing a little more sincere. 

"I suppose that goes for the rest of us as well. I can't say anyone has complimented me to my face yet, but occasionally I'd get a good word in from my grandfather." 

"If I may ask, did saving the world improve the way you looked upon yourself as well?" She paused, her voice softening. 

"I feel slightly more confident, after what we've accomplished. And after all, I did make some very good friends."
