Blog Explanation
Heey! Mod of the blog Petra here. Decided to make an ask blog for my oc version of Tenna despite them becoming a little obsolete with the new chapters out now.
But also who cares about canon, we ball.
Small note that I've only played Chapter 3 so far (I'm stuck on the secret boss) and I haven't played Chapter 4. Please keep this in mind when it comes to spoiler asks.
Edit: I've now played all of Chapter 3 and 4, I just haven't completed my Snowgrave route for 4 but I know what happens.
That said, feel free to ask Tenna (Vision) how they feel about Mr. (Ant) Tenna or anything about the canon Chapter 3! Or any of my other Deltarune OCs from my chapter takes for that matter. This is a different AU than canon, so don't be afraid to ask and see what's different!
This blog also (loosely) ties to one of my other blogs, @apupp3tw0-strings, (mostly just being the same universe.) For my main blog, check out @petra-creat0r too
Thanks Creative Creators, enjoy the show!
Character explanations
[[TENNA VISION]]: She/He/They/Any. Your hostest with the mostest, TV's Household name, it's Tenna L. Vision!! This AU version of the beloved Tenna ain't your average ant, she's a funny bunny! Here to make you laugh, cry, and distract you from all your troubles from outside life with games, shows, more games, more shows! Movies! Cartoons! Gameshows! Quizshows! Anything you want anything you desire just don't look away keep your eyes on them!
Much like canon Tenna, Tenna V. is the Dreemurr's old TV who's still desperately trying to cling onto the past and be relevant. Even years later after their fountain has been sealed, he wants to be loved, he wants to be watched. If only this world had a reclusive nobody of a ghost to adopt them. Well, at least there's still a town full of Darkners to try to entertain. That'll have to do.
MISTA ROOK: He/Him. The no-nonsense, short tempered executive producer of Tenna Vision and former ruler of Homestead (TV World). Rook rules with an iron fist, using his influence and power to command and control others, often having others do his dirty work for him. On his own though, he's not that strong. Bit more so than your average Zapper but there's a reason this old man usually has others fight for him.
Reserved and incredibly egotistical, he's not that affectionate, though he can be caring. Usually just in private. Thus any mention of him and Tenna having a "thing", he'll try to brush off and claim they're just business partners. Much to Tenna's annoyance. He does care though, just has a hard time showing it.
Mike: He/Him. The real Mike!? Well, of this world at least. Tenna's disgruntled, grumpy assistant, who swears he just signed up to man the audio. He's long since grown irritated or indifferent to Tenna's antics, having to work with the rather vain and boisterous star for years. He honestly doesn't like most the people here at the studio, and the only one he did... Well, the mailman's been gone for years.
Even if Mike's set up his own audio repair shop in Castle Town and has insisted he quit working for Tenna and the studio after the fountain got sealed, he never actually signed the paperwork to approve that, and has unknowingly still been under contract. God he needs another coffee.
Lanino and Elnina: He/him and She/her respectively. The weather always sticks together, no matter the world or universe! Even with a slightly different boss and more fellow cast mates, Lanino and Elnina are much the same as they are in canon here. Two romantic love-birds who nothing could tear them apart. ... We don't talk about the suspicious lamp in the corner.
Currently these two are trying to navigate being new parents, with their lovely little bundle of joy, Aurora the Fluffling.
Draca Dragende: She/Her. [WIP]
Vic Rambsy: He/Him. Former owner of Homestead's Chairiel Inn and current owner of the Chairiel Coffee Bar inside TV Studios. Less a place to get more than a quick caffeine boost (he only serves plain black coffee and there's a Cafe next door), but more a place much of the rest of the Studio staff goes to for a bit of wisdom and advice. Being a VCR, Vic is the a Darkner experienced in converting any food to a VHS format, which is especially helpful to Tenna, who can't eat anything that's not a VHS or DVD format. Vic also helps Tenna keep an archive of old broadcasts and trouble shooting any VHS player related problems.
Vic is a quiet old coot who tends to keep to himself, but he'll always be ready to lend an ear to those who need it. Not to mention he's been here since the beginning, and has plenty of stories that others might not want to tell if you just ask. For example, no one talks about this one children’s show hostess who used to work for the Studio. But sit on down and have a cup of Joe with Vic and he'll tell ya all about it.
Notable Anons
Bit-bIt-Little Miss Bitsy: She/Her [WIP]
🎲Battat, 👢Jongler, and 🎵Pluey (aka the Mike Gang): He/Him, They/Them, and He/They respectively. [WIP]
[WIP]
The Lore
This blog takes place post my take of Deltarune Chapter 3 (which follows the basic plot beats of Chapter 3, but with additional characters, events, and some minor to major changes), and post the original Deltarune story all together. It's been years since Kris defied the Prophecy and stopped it from being completed, which eventually led to a new generation having to bare the burden of a reworked prophecy still trying to be be fulfilled. For the purposes of THIS blog though, main thing you have to worry about is that it takes place in Castle Town.
Tenna Vision, our hostest with the mostest, is still in almost the same to the Tenna we met in the canon Chapter 3 in terms of personality, but different in design and a bit of backstory due to the fact she was made prior to the canon chapters coming out.
Instead of being based on an ant, this Tenna is based on a bunny! (Get it, bunny ear antennae?), He also lacks the ability to size shift, (Ant) Tenna's signature nose, and speaks like closed captions rather than with fancy text.
They do abide by cartoon looney toons logic though :3
Tenna is married to/business partners with the studio's producer, Mista Rook. A no nonsense, straight to business mob boss who's the executive producer for Tenna Vision studios. He and Tenna have known each other as long as they've been alive, this is because Rook's Light World form is the original master remote to the TV that Tenna is. Basically, Rook is a glorified Zapper.
Back before they all moved to Castle Town, Rook used to go on long business trips that Tenna didn't like because it meant they were alone for long periods of time. According to Rook, during these business trips he never meant to be gone for so long and only was because he kept finding himself in a strange land best described as "Nowhere", aka Mancountry. The remote kept getting lost in the couch cushions.
Rook's two trusted personal Zapper bodyguards, Gizmo and Blinker, were the only other people who accompanied Rook on these trips.
Somehow in this universe, Mike, Tenna's assistant/the studio's sound guy is the one who ended up with the Pipis. We still don't quite know how this happened but Mike and Spamton did seem to be good friends.
While Rook was gone on one of these "business trips" during a certain mailman's Big Shot era, Tenna ended up having an affair and cheating on Rook with Spamton. They tried to hide it after the fact until it came up during an argument Tenna and Rook had recently which led to the #tennarook divorce arc. Rook apparently already knew to some degree.
Mike claims to have quit working for Tenna after their fountain was sealed, but Tenna kept demanding he do stuff for them. To try to get out of his begrudging work, he tried to get Fluff from @totallymikenotfluff to impersonate and try to be him, which eventually backfired with #the maid dress incident.
Sometime after that, Fluff also got kidnapped during the #fluff kidnapping arc by @ its-just-showbiz at the same time he had kidnapped Battat from @ who-is-mike. Mike rescued Fluff during the chaos of the Tenna fight, and Tenna V. learned out about the ruse and informed Mike that he never officially filled out the proper paperwork to quit and is still under contract. Fluff still has scars from this encounter and though anons tried to give Mike the resulting gore tape on a few occasions, he's destroyed every copy he's received violently
Afterwards, Fluff and his children, the Flufflings, started living in one of the studios abandoned sound stages for a while. During which time, Fluff offered to mitose another fluffling for Lanino and Elnina after hearing them wanting to have a child, thus began the #rock a bye baby arc with Lanino trying to get over his nerves about being a father, and the two gaining Aurora as their new daughter as Fluff disappeared to his original Dark World, Dreamer's Shrine in #the fountain rapids nearer arc, which introduced characters like Tempus and Lux
During Fluff's visit home, he got amnesia, gaslit that he was Mike, and stitched the Mike mask to his face, resulting in more chaos during the #lost memories arc. Eventually though someone hit Fluff over the head with a frying pan, undoing the amnesia, and Mike and Tempus helped Fluff recover.
Now, all of the Dreamer's Shrine characters live at the Dreamers Inn, Fluff and Tempus's hotel.
Eventually the divorce arc led to Rook making a stupid deal with a devilishly corrupted Virovirokun named Devoilz, that'd he'd be able to get Tenna back within 3 days. After not being able to, Devoilz ended up fighting Rook in the #deal with the devoilz arc, and though Tenna tried to help, they were forced back into the dressing room they'd been sulking in by an anon/creature known as the shadow entity, and forced to play their game in the #shadow play arc
After some local Lightner kids (Chicago G Blook and Naomi Pisces) heard about the fight at the studio and came to help Rook in his fight against Devoilz, eventually defeating him, eventually Rook and Tenna seemingly made up, ending the first divorce arc.
After multiple instances of anons giving Mike ridiculous names, dubbed #the michealname incident, one of the michealnames that gave Mike the most confusion, Con Raul (#the con raul incident), ended up spawning it's own franchise after asker jokes and some of the local Lightners kids, The Junior Secret Squad (particularly Naomi Pisces and Comic Kings Dreemurr-Font), fed into the joke by gaslighting others into it being real, which eventually caused it to become real.
This spun into the #movie night arc, where Naomi decided to have a movie night where they, the rest of the JSS, their secret boss buddies, and the Flufflings avoiding their dad's recent divorce from Prince Tempus (#sleepytime divorce arc) would consume all the Con Raul media, from the movie series to a video game. Seeming to forget about needing a TV to watch the movies on, it was initially suggested to invite Tenna, before realizing that would create a conflict of interest with two of the previously invited guests, Spamton G. Spamton and Miss Bitsy. Aka, Tenna's former love affair "the Mailman", and a former children's show host at Tenna's studio, who had to be kicked out after she was fired.
During this same time, Tenna was dealing with lingering feelings for the Mailman in the #love letters arc, despite seemingly patching things up with Rook after the stuff with the Devoilz. That combined with learning that the JSS didn't invite him to their movie night caused the TV to feel glooby and lock himself in his dressing room for days on end, only exasperated by some depraved anon continually feeding into Tenna’s self deprecating thoughts.
Eventually, Tenna did come out, only to be met by Battat, a Pippin conspiracy theorist Mike is friends with, ranting about his theory about Tenna and the Mailman. Despite trying to play it cool, it became pretty obvious this effected Tenna as she'd continue to cry over some love songs sent by song rec anon in her spare time.
After some point during all this, a strange figure calling himself Mike D. Air barged into Rook's office and demanded a cut of the Studio out else he'd tell Tenna what happened during the "business trips". Despite Rook already revealing they were impromptu trips to Nowhere, it still seemed there was at least one part of D. Air's ranting that caused Rook to panic, showing there might be more to his "business trips" that he hasn't revealed to Tenna.
What was revealed during Rook's talk with Mike D. Air is that he supposedly never actually loved Tenna and was using them from the start. That he was only in it for the status and money. Something that got broadcast throughout the whole Studio and that Tenna heard before one of Rook's Zapper guards, Gizmo, could get to them and stop them from receiving the broadcast. Thus kicking off the #tennarook divorce arc 2: electric boogaloo.
In the chaos of that day, Tenna got manipulated by a mysterious and dubious Doctor Erris Diegno into hypnotizing Gizmo using a strange black "truth serum" injected via syringe, Chicago and Naomi both showed up to try and settle stuff down, Bitsy confronted and eventually talked down D. Air, and Tenna confronted Chicago not just for not inviting him to the movie night, but also hiding Spamton, the mailman he's been missing for years from him.
Chicago tried to apologize and reveal Spamton to Tenna, but Tenna refused to accept the puppet as her former mailman lover.
After the chaos was calmed down, Rook got arrested and sent to the Castle dungeon, and Tenna isolated themself to their Castle room, still trying to process everything from Rook not loving them, to not knowing who in the Studio they can trust, to all the complicated stuff with Spamton.
