Hi ho, finally got the motivation to make an intro post for this blog, as writing has slowed down to a crawl for my Infection AU fanfic, which you can read on Wattpad or AO3

Badly explaining the gist of the lore

Initial concept: Okay so, this isn't much different than those MLP infection AUs, the character just go through some stuff, here, have an info sheet, oh yay, the cure was found. Not too in depth

Now: ... so uh. I think I need to dial back on the tragic character relationships- oh god that one just turned their lover into an experiment oh fuck the damn kids are traumatized. Jesus. Someone just convinced this one that therapy will put them in the mental asylum, away from their friends and it's worse than whatever they were traumatized by. Oh, someone just died from the vaccine. That's totally not a set back.

I talk big with all these ideas I have but don't actually continue writing l, fml. All I have are concepts, but getting to the point on the timeline and actually integrating the concepts into full texts is the difficult part. All my concepts okay at least several months into the future, that ain't helping me with the current chapter.

But hey, at least my biology major will come to use for once. If I actually understood shit about plants. But hey, human biology is still biology. I'd be so powerful if I could animate.

Made an Infection AU art again

Sort of blanked out and the next thing I know, I was shading the dude

Can you tell I'm bad at shading hair and eyes on paper? As well as clothes?

Anyways, some ramble on the details:

Grey is infected by a specific strain that causes symptoms like clusters of tiny blisters on the skin, induced by either bugs laying their eggs in the body or infection spores.

However, his condition is by far not as bad as the image shows. That is his own visual and physical hallucinations, making him believe his entire body is covered by the tiny blisters and necrotic holes, bugs crawling out of the openings and his own eyes splitting apart.

This causes itching and he's constant scratching at himself, making it worse and feeding his hallucinations

the extra hands is just a reference to the original song, the fingertips are black also due to necrosis

Rae, do you have any information as to why the infection affects people in different ways? Why is it that some are completely harmless whereas others, like your sister, become more classically "zombie like"?
