Presentation/First Heats:
Congrats, you’re an Omega! And you smell like you’re gonna die if you don’t get a hug. Similar to warm heats, low-grade fever is common but doesn’t always happen.
Best solution is nesting, cuddles from pack/loved ones. Omegas in their first heat will likely prefer one pack member over any other, most commonly their dam, a pack mom/dad, or a sibling. Cramping can be light or moderate, but not terrible.
Warm heats occur most commonly in Omegas under the age of 18-20, so after presentation and before maturity, all heats are warm heats. Low-grade fever is common in warm heats, but again, it doesn’t always occur. Cramping is moderate to severe, depends on each Omega.
Note: Teenage Omegas may want to be left alone. This is fine, but check on them at least every few hours. If they’re dating a partner, they may want to see them. This is also fine, as warm heats are not the same as conception heats.
Best solution is packmates being around, nesting, almost the same as a presentation heat. Cold compresses on the forehead and neck feel nice if there’s a fever. Heating pads help with cramping.
Congrats, you’re a fully matured Omega once you’ve had your first conception heat.
These feel more severe than a warm heat due to the intense sexual desire felt by the Omega. An Omega typically has their first conception heat between 18-21. If they are 21 or older and have not had a conception heat, it may be in interest to see a doctor.
Best solution is sex. If that isn’t possible, then treat it like a warm heat. The Omega will be uncomfortable during a conception heat. Medium-grade fevers are common. Fever reduction medication may be necessary.
Dry heats occur under a lot of stress and/or anxiety, and that’s the short answer. There’s a lot of things that can send an Omega into a dry heat, but stress/anxiety is the main cause.
High-grade fever is almost always a given. Cramping is often severe. Do not attempt sex with an Omega in dry heat. Don’t leave the Omega alone, and have them in their nest or den, if possible. If the dry heat worsens in any way, take the Omega to the nearest hospital.
