Yellow sighs as she crosses the room to sit at the elevated throne meant for her. There were three others, color-coordinated for the other Diamonds.

“Pearl, at my side please.”

“Right away my diamond”

The pearl followed her diamond through the crowed of gems until they reached her thrown. Her diamond took a seat and she , like she always did, stood next to her looking pretty.

This was one of the things she was more then used to standing next to her diamond just as decor of some kind. What she wasn’t used to was the two crowed of gems that were beginning to talk again and the raging strom outside. She just hoped it would be over soon.

Yellow Diamond catches her quickly, more out of reflex than anything else. She surprises herself with this, staring at the Pearl in her hand. Then, carefully, she sets her back down on the arm rest.

She was supried to say the least when she didn’t hit the floor but in stead landed in her diamonds hands. As her diamond placed her back on the armrest she just stared at her with stars in her eyes.

“you chought me…. Even tho I just annoyed you… Why?”

“..You were going to fall.”

Yellow looks away, unsure herself why she had caught her Pearl rather than let her fall…

Stars, Pink really was starting to get into her head…

“Thank you…”

she continued smiling and still had starts in her eyes, this was because she just realized something.

“You care for me ! “

Yellow’s own face flushes slightly, eyes never traveling to her Pearl and instead focused off to the side of the room.

She couldn’t bring herself to comment on what her Pearl had said. Caring for her Pearl? It was true that Pink had done the same with her own Pearl- and the Pearl that later replaced her. And.. It was true that Yellow acknowledged that her own Pearl had been there at her side unquestioningly for eons…

But did she really care for her?

After seeing the reaction of her diamond the pearl was not sure if mentioning what she thought was the right ght thing to do.

“I-I’m sorry my diamond… It not my place to say such redicoulus things”

She stood up and prepered to jump down to the ground

“It’s alright… Is there any updates on the storm, Pearl?”

Anything to distract from what just happened.

The pearls stopped and pulled up her holotablat she didn’t even have to look for anything she got flooded with notifications and messages. Some where just I formations other were angry messages about work time, she pushed the latter away and looked for anything about the presumed end time of the storm.

“well apperantly the Strom should end in a few hours”

“Good.”

Yellow takes a deep breaty and rises to her feet.

“Attention! The storm will be over in a few hours.”

She announces, voice booming through the ballroom.

she watched her diamond give the announcement. It seam like all the gems in the room could not wait to get out of here, some gems had started arguing about minor things before but it seamed that the announcement made them calm down.

Her Diamond sat back down, after a while the gems in the room started talking again. The pearl still sat on the armrest nest to her diamond both in complete silence. It was nothing that uncommend that they were both in the room and not talking but normally they were at work then. Now they both just sat there sometimes looking at each other.

“I hope this storm dose not travel to other planets” the pearl said this lost in thoughts about all the damages it had already done.

Yellow nods in agreement.

“Yes, that would be unfortunate.”

She sighs, leaning back, head tilted back. This was exhausting.

She looked at her Diamond, it seamed like she was really exhausted because of all of this.

“my diamond is there anything u can do to make you feel better?”

“Unless you can get us out of here sooner, no. I just need to get back to Homeworld and relax.”

Yellow spoke quietly, clearly wanting the conversation to stay between the two of them.

“M-my thoughts ? “

she started to play with her hands, she always did when she was nervous. How dose one answer this, she is not suppose to think…. Should she just tell the truth… since she had lied before she just wanted to be honest now.

“Well.. I-I don’t l-like storms… and s-some o.-of the o-other gems screamed at me …” she couldn’t say more, she just looked at the ground trying not to shake.

“Yes, I don’t like them either.”

Yellow pauses, thinking over the second part.

“What did they yell at you for?”

She still dint look up.

“T-they wanted to know where you where and t-they told m-me to find out w-when they can go back t-to work”

She took a deep breath and continue

“ W-when I told them I-I didn’t know t-they got mad.. But i-its fine..”

“Which gems? I didn’t even give you such information.”

Stars, was she really defending a Pearl? But… This Pearl had served by her side since.. Well, since Yellow had been made, practically! Pink- Steven had made a good point the other day. She’d been here so long and yet Yellow knew nothing about her. Besides, Steven said she should be treated as an equal..

And, well… Yellow was trying.

she looked up for a second only to look to the ground once again.

“ they would probably be even more mad if i told on them..” She said her voice not more then a whisper, she said it more to herself then to anyone.

“I-I don’t know… T-They didn’t mention t-there facets…”

she hoped her diamond hear what she muttert under her breath and just took this as an answer

Yellow sighs, looking away.

“Alright, fine. I’ll let it go- this time.”

“w-what would you d-do to them if you knew?”

She really wanted to be quiet but her diamond had acted really nice towards her and her curiosity had gotten the better of her

“Pink would probably stop me from doing anything too harmful to their precious gemstones- but they’d be taken to homeworld for sure.”

“would you have harmed there gems whitout pink, just for talking bad to me… A pearl?”

She was really surprised to hear that maybe she should tell her…

“Pink insists you are our equal. His own Pearl behaves well enough with this logic so… It must not be all bad.”

Oh my stars, seriously? Was she really doing this? It went against everything she believed and yet… Somehow, it was nice. Having somebody to talk to. Somebody who had always been there for her, even if by command and necessity.

She was stunned to hear this.. Well she kinda already knew but hearing it said to her directly from her diamond was something else….

“well… If that’s so… Would you be mad then if I told you that I knew which gems it were… And I didn’t want to tell you because I thought they would get mad at me and.. Like s-shatter me…”

“Shatter you?”

Yellow looked away.

“Nobody will touch you. Even if I have to bubble every one of them. You are my Pearl, they should know better than to touch you.”

“well knowing better hasn’t stopped them before….”

She looked over to the group of gems

“it was this group of gems over there with the emerald and the citrins..”

She pointed at them feeling better with the words of her diamond

“You four, over there.”

Yellow calls, pointing to the group.

“Yes, you. Come here. Now.”

“Do you have something to tell me?”

As the group stood before her duaomd she saw the fear rise in them. Nobody could blame them yellow diamond was not in good terms with them, not that they knew why.

‘no my diamond.. Is there any information you requested? If so then I’m sorry but I haven’t been informed.. But I will be at it right away’ said the emerald whilst the citrins stood behind her.

Pearl couldn’t help but smile knowing that this wasn’t the answer her diamond wanted to hear.

“No, you yelled at my Pearl for information she was not told!”

Yellow’s fingers twitched as she clutched at the arms of her elevated throne. She was getting the urge to zap now and ask questions later.

The emerald went silent you could see her thinking of what to say.

‘I’m sorry my diamond, this storm had all of us on edge…’

This was apparently all the gems had to say

“No excuse! You’re given free will and the first thing you do with it is go out of your way to mistreat my Pearl?”

Yellow was pissed, glaring down at the gems in front of her.

“we’re sorry my diamond it w-wont happen again”

The emerald was trying to keep her composure. After apologising a few more times she stopped to glare at the pearl that stood just meter away from her

‘well it doesn’t seam like she is to affected by it..‘the emerald spoke through gritted teeth.

“It effected her enough that she thought to bring my attention to it. I suggest you shut your mouth, Emerald.”

‘I’m sorry my diamond but I didn’t think speaking to a pearl like she is a pearl would get me into trouble ‘

The emerald was getting even more angry,while she talked she took a few steps towards Pearl. Pearl didn’t have enough space to back off anymore. She looked at her diamond in a slight panic. I wouldn’t be the first time that she would be attacked by an angry gem.

“Enough! I made it clear in my speech that Pink says Pearls are equals to any other now. So, unless you want to end up in a bubble you’ll back up and actually listen to what you’ve been told.”

The emerald glared at the pearl but then took steps back and apologized again, the Citrins did so too. They even apologized to pearl directly and said it would not happen again. after that they left.

“I really thought she was going to strike me” The pearl said more matter of factly then surprised

Yellow sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“She would have ended up in a bubble if she had even raised her hand.”

“I guess so….” she took a moment to take in what just happened “this feels nice…..”

Her diamond defending her like this was a really nice feeling, it also made her even more curious about how far she could go now. After a few minutes, she decided to try something, she jumped up to the armrests of her diamonds Thron and sat down lokkinv at her diamond for any reaction.

Yellow stares, watching as her Pearl does this. Hm. She.. Honestly had no idea how to respond to this.

“What are you doing..?”

“Sitting down on the armrest of your thron “ the pearl said with wide eyes, not because she was afraid but because she was exited and happy.

She looked around the room it looked different from up here..

“ do you want me to get down… Because I don’t want to get down, you try standing around all day “

Yellow hesitates before nodding.

“Yes, standing for long periods of time can be quite exhausting.”

“Alright. You may stay.”

The Pearl happily smiled. she took out her tablet to check for new information.There were some damage reports , actually there where a lot of damage reports.She pushed them to the side to see if she could find any info on the storm. There was some but nothing to conclusive on when the storm was over.

“My Diamond there seam to be a lot of damage reports from the storm, and I mean a lot”

She spun her tablet so her diamond could see the tablet and the obscene amount of reports.

Yellow squints at the tablet, sighing.

“The gems on this planet will have a lot of work to do once we are able to leave. Any word on how much longer this storm will go on?”

“well there are information that range from a few more hours max to maybe its over in a few days. So nothing really useful. I will let you know if I find something”

She stayed on her tablet and started to go through a few of the reports, they were long and quite vague on some points. After a whole of this she pushes her tablet away sights and leans back u til she rlcan rest her head with her eyes closed. She didn’t realise that she was leaning against her diamond and not on the Thron.

Yellow stares at her for a moment before looking away. She should say something…

“Pearl?”

“yeah?…” the pearl sounded a bit tired and didn’t even open her eyes when spoken too.

It was wired she sometimes had the ability to ignore everything around her. This usually happened after a long period of work, when she got a break and sat or layed down somewhere. Most of the times she was alone in these moments but even if she was not she would not notice anyone around her, the pearl would just sit there completely lost in thoughts until something snapped her out of it.

The same thing was happening right now the pearl was leaning agounst her diamond and was lost in her head.

“You’re laying on my arm, Pearl.”

Yellow sounds tired as well, though likely from how mentally taxing it was to force herself to treat her Pearl differently.

she hoped her diamond hear what she muttert under her breath and just took this as an answer

Yellow sighs, looking away.

“Alright, fine. I’ll let it go- this time.”

“w-what would you d-do to them if you knew?”

She really wanted to be quiet but her diamond had acted really nice towards her and her curiosity had gotten the better of her

“Pink would probably stop me from doing anything too harmful to their precious gemstones- but they’d be taken to homeworld for sure.”

“would you have harmed there gems whitout pink, just for talking bad to me… A pearl?”

She was really surprised to hear that maybe she should tell her…

“Pink insists you are our equal. His own Pearl behaves well enough with this logic so… It must not be all bad.”

She was stunned to hear this.. Well she kinda already knew but hearing it said to her directly from her diamond was something else….

“Shatter you?”

Yellow looked away.

“Nobody will touch you. Even if I have to bubble every one of them. You are my Pearl, they should know better than to touch you.”

“well knowing better hasn’t stopped them before….”

She looked over to the group of gems

“it was this group of gems over there with the emerald and the citrins..”

She pointed at them feeling better with the words of her diamond

“You four, over there.”

Yellow calls, pointing to the group.

“Yes, you. Come here. Now.”

“Do you have something to tell me?”

As the group stood before her duaomd she saw the fear rise in them. Nobody could blame them yellow diamond was not in good terms with them, not that they knew why.

Pearl couldn’t help but smile knowing that this wasn’t the answer her diamond wanted to hear.

“No, you yelled at my Pearl for information she was not told!”

Yellow’s fingers twitched as she clutched at the arms of her elevated throne. She was getting the urge to zap now and ask questions later.

The emerald went silent you could see her thinking of what to say.

‘I’m sorry my diamond, this storm had all of us on edge…’

This was apparently all the gems had to say

“No excuse! You’re given free will and the first thing you do with it is go out of your way to mistreat my Pearl?”

Yellow was pissed, glaring down at the gems in front of her.

“we’re sorry my diamond it w-wont happen again”

The emerald was trying to keep her composure. After apologising a few more times she stopped to glare at the pearl that stood just meter away from her

‘well it doesn’t seam like she is to affected by it..‘the emerald spoke through gritted teeth.

“It effected her enough that she thought to bring my attention to it. I suggest you shut your mouth, Emerald.”

‘I’m sorry my diamond but I didn’t think speaking to a pearl like she is a pearl would get me into trouble ‘

The emerald glared at the pearl but then took steps back and apologized again, the Citrins did so too. They even apologized to pearl directly and said it would not happen again. after that they left.

“I really thought she was going to strike me” The pearl said more matter of factly then surprised

Yellow sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“She would have ended up in a bubble if she had even raised her hand.”

“I guess so….” she took a moment to take in what just happened “this feels nice…..”

Yellow stares, watching as her Pearl does this. Hm. She.. Honestly had no idea how to respond to this.

“What are you doing..?”

“Sitting down on the armrest of your thron “ the pearl said with wide eyes, not because she was afraid but because she was exited and happy.

She looked around the room it looked different from up here..

“ do you want me to get down… Because I don’t want to get down, you try standing around all day “

Yellow hesitates before nodding.

“Yes, standing for long periods of time can be quite exhausting.”

“Alright. You may stay.”

“My Diamond there seam to be a lot of damage reports from the storm, and I mean a lot”

She spun her tablet so her diamond could see the tablet and the obscene amount of reports.

Yellow squints at the tablet, sighing.

“The gems on this planet will have a lot of work to do once we are able to leave. Any word on how much longer this storm will go on?”

Yellow sighs as she crosses the room to sit at the elevated throne meant for her. There were three others, color-coordinated for the other Diamonds.

“Pearl, at my side please.”

“Right away my diamond”

The pearl followed her diamond through the crowed of gems until they reached her thrown. Her diamond took a seat and she , like she always did, stood next to her looking pretty.

“Pearl.. What are your thoughts on all of this?”

Yellow spoke quietly, clearly wanting the conversation to stay between the two of them.

“M-my thoughts ? “

“Well.. I-I don’t l-like storms… and s-some o.-of the o-other gems screamed at me …” she couldn’t say more, she just looked at the ground trying not to shake.

“Yes, I don’t like them either.”

Yellow pauses, thinking over the second part.

“What did they yell at you for?”

Stars, how was she supposed to just.. Talk to people! Pink- No, Steven, she reminds herself. Steven made it look so easy… So had Pink, in truth.

The dark gem held her tongue, dropping the salute as she heard the obviousness in the diamonds voice. Of course she didn’t acknowledge what she did to her… why would she?

Inwardly, Onyx struggled to keep herself together but did her best not to show her emotions as she still remembered her place
