So, a peaceful dragon had won, then? One that didn't want to keep adding fuel to the flames? Certainly a good outcome, not only for the tribe she ruled and the rest of dragonkind, but for him and Mango as well. It'd be considerably easier to wait until things had calmed down if the queen was making a conscious effort to bring her new tribe out of conflict, and adding on the fact that the rest of the tribes seemed to be following the same mindset, getting specimens shouldn't be too difficult. All they needed to do was wait, to take in measure, and they'd be rewarded with more discoveries, more to do. The mere thought of it was thrilling, of all he'd learned today, the possibility of learning even more. Human civilization wasn't at all advanced here, but frankly, he found that he didn't care. After all, it wasn't like there wasn't an intelligent species in charge, it simply was that humans weren't it. His eyes narrowed lightly at the mention of the IceWings, if they kept to themselves then it'd be logical to assume their lands would be well protected.... From dragons, at least. He'd really need to start thinking about making some gear, it'd make the recollection of certain specimens infinitesimally easier. He read through the page on the new tribe, expression neutral. Now here was what most people in his world would think when the topic of dragons was brought up: large, fire breathing creatures, and just that. Clearly they could do more with their wings than the rest of the tribes, their size was enough to tell that much. Not to mention the mention of fire. Sure, it wasn't the most impressive tribe, but it was more than enough to tell that it did hold some promise. So this tribe had gained a new queen after the war? Good riddance, from the little he was hearing from the previous one. Sure, he wasn't against killing, but only after their potential is fully mapped out, when there's nothing else to find. Clearly the previous queen didn't think ahead enough, or she might have kept the throne. Most losses were because of underestimating the opponent, he'd learned that rather quick in his line of work.
"Oh, certainly. If she hadn't resorted to brutality, perhaps she could've kept the throne as well."
He quirked a brow at the dragon's words, looking over the dragon of the SkyWings. Unable to get an specimen? Sure, that could be because of the war, but maybe...
"... I'd assume their base is somewhere with high altitude? These wings look like they were made for flying long and high, even compared to the ones from the other tribes."
â:Oh undoubtedly. I believe that her fall was due to of a combination of her underestimating her opponent and general incompetence.:â Really it had only been a matter of time in his eyes, she was bound to mess up eventually. Peace was so much more convenient for progress, even if war did lead to ingenuity it was rushed and poorly directed in the best of times. Not to mention only producing weapons or means of defense instead of more useful contraptions. â:Ah, yes indeed it is. That isnât much of a problem, aside form the difficulty of getting there without being spotted. Though my scales do negate that quite a bit it is much harder to do when getting out. Hard to disguise an egg whilst flying after all.:â It would have to either be small enough or the dragon fast enough for it to be able to slip through, night would most likely be the best time due to the lack of visibility and the possible tiring of the guards. â:The biggest problem is that almost all of the hatcheries are in the main city, and that Skywings only lay one egg at a time. Quite a bit easier to notice a single egg missing at a glance than one of a group of 3 or more. Additionally theyâre much more protective of their offspring because of it, though it would be easier to get than a Nightwingâs in theory.:â Those dragons took overprotectiveness of their offspring to a whole other level. But it did make sense, as they had dealt with problems due to having to raise them in what was effectively a wasteland. They also had only one egg per clutch, coincidentally.
Now, onto the last tribe, the Mudwings. The drawing was stocky, with an alligator-esque nose and small flat spines along its back. It was the color of mud, interspersed with lighter and slightly darker shades of brown. There was a note about those from red eggs being born with a strong resistance to any sort of fire, and another about the fascinating social structure. â:Itâs quite interesting how their society works. The first hatched it called a bigwings, and will protect and lead the others of its clutch. Parents donât seem to care at all for their offspring, instead only mating occasionally and leaving the eggs in a mud house somewhere in the loose collection of sleeping quarters. Theyâre probably the second easiest to obtain eggs from, now overtaking the Rainwings for the number one spot since Queen Glory insists on counting all of the eggs to prevent theft. I even know of a Mudwing who sold one of her eggs for some cows if you could believe it.:â It was one of the reasons he kept multiple types of wildlife in his facility. It was so easy to get his hands on them, though he mainly only wanted the fireproof hatchlings. He was quite lucky that it had such an obvious tell, really.
