Mike Wheeler far away from the both of them.

There is a lot that has happened in the time that you knew this boy. Has overall opinion of him changed, or are there still fundamental truths?

Kid’s a pain in the ass.

When I met him all I saw was a loud and stubborn kid who thought he knew better than every adult in the room.

Didn’t trust me, didn’t like me, pushed back on everything.

Still does, sometimes.

But.. I’ve seen him when things get bad.

Really bad.

I’ve seen him scared outta his mind and still stand his ground. Seen him fight for everyone like nothing else mattered. Seen him stick by Will and Jane when most kids his age wouldn’t know how to handle that kind of thing.

Do I think he’s perfect? No.

Do I think he makes dumb choices? Yeah.

Would he be my first pick for my kids? Probably not.

But he’s loyal and he cares.. More importantly he shows up.

So, yeah, I guess he’s grown on me over time.
