I Have Returned

Against my better judgment, I have returned to Tumblr. As far as I am aware, no callout post against me even exists, and none forthcame. I perhaps was a bit too hasty in leaving Tumblr, having jumped the gun and assuming the worst. But you know what they say: “When you assume, you make an [BEEP] out of you and me.” However, some changes are coming forth, for the sake of my mental health: • ask-the-special-cossack-numbers and zoroarkandroid are both going on indefinite hiatus, possibly even discontinued for good. Both blogs will become archives, not deleted, but there will no longer be activity on either one. • Additionally, I am dropping out of the Mega Man RP fandom here on Tumblr. I have unfollowed a few Mega Man blogs here, most of them dead blogs, but three are still active. For those three, I have unfollowed two and am still following that mun’s art blog. The other, I’m still following but will unfollow as soon as I can follow a different blog of theirs that is an art blog, if they have one. Don’t want to lose contact with those two muns, after all. • teamwario-wareinc will remain inactive for now. I haven’t been able to bring myself to launch this blog. How to put this? I feel rather intimidated by the sheer size of the Mario RP community. And I just…I’m finding it difficult to find my muse. I’m finding that running RP blogs and running ask blogs just isn’t for me, in general. I”m just…not happy when running RP blogs. It feels like the barrier to entry is too high, or perhaps I’m setting the bar too high for myself, or something of that sort. The bottom line is that running RP blogs and running ask blogs just isn’t for me.

To be frank, I wouldn’t have returned at all if not for a friend of mine returning to Tumblr whom I feel obligated to follow and help them out, due in part to having promised them in the past to help them with their project, and I was not expecting them to return to Tumblr. If you wish to contact me or have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer, within reason, here at @midday-mew.

Leaving Tumblr

I’m leaving Tumblr. I no longer feel safe here. I fear the angry mob will come after me, the one that will eventually form. I don’t feel safe, haven’t felt safe here for months.

Today, I learned someone has randomly blocked me. Took me by surprise. Given who it is, I don’t feel safe enough to stay here, as I fear a callout post might happen. Those of you who wish to remain in contact with me, you know where to find me. I’m not hard to find. It was nice being in this community, but all good things must come to an end, eventually. I cannot stay here, for the sake of my fragile mental health. I can’t deal. I’ve suffered too much at the mistreatment of certain people, who may or may not even realize how they made me feel or even realize what they’ve done that hurt me.

Confession Time

((The real reason I went on hiatus: I felt like I was “interfering” with what other muns had planned for their blogs. I realized there was some overarching story between all the Mega Man blogs in the Tumblr RP community and I was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the Tumblr RP community. And I felt like I had no right to interfere with what the other muns had planned. Not to mention I felt intimidated by the size of the Tumblr RP community.

So I went on hiatus, and then eventually I started up a new ask blog, called teamwario-wareinc (which I’ve never actually done anything with other than try to set up the blog). It was intended as an ask/RP blog, since I wanted to do Mario RPs. I spent a lot of trouble trying to get it set up...only to learn that the Tumblr Mario RP community is even more massive than the Mega Man one! And they, too, had an overarching plot...plus they updated much more frequently than Mega Man RP/ask blogs did. It made me feel like I would have preferred to remain as an ask blog for teamwario-wareinc and not do interactions with other muns’ blogs. I don’t know why, but I feel...intimidated. And I learn that was the exact same reason a certain mun some of you guys know (for their privacy, I will not name who they are) had gone on indefinite hiatus for their Mega Man series ask/RP blog as well, when I went to them for advice on what to do about the “feeling intimidated by the sheer size of ____ series Tumblr RP community” issue that I have...and now I turn to you guys for advice and support. What do I do to stop feeling so...intimidated? How do I stop feeling like I’m “interfering”? I suppose I could handle it better if Tumblr handled notifications more like deviantART does for their CORE members—putting notifications in stacks grouped by the [blog], so that you don’t have so many pages to scroll through, and to make it easier to keep up with the blogs you follow, especially if they update frequently. There are, like, a few blogs I want to follow but haven’t, for the sole reason that my dash is limited to 40 pages of ten messages each, meaning I only have 400 messages before they disappear from the dash. That’s....not a lot. Compare to deviantART, where you could have tens of thousands of messages with little to no issues—notifications automatically disappear when they become old enough, not when you have reached a certain number of messages—and you can archive the ones you don’t want to vanish.

The problem I face is this: deviantART is not a platform meant for roleplaying. Yet, somehow, I want some of deviantART’s features on Tumblr, like notification (dashboard) “stacks” that are grouped by artist/group (or in Tumblr’s case, by blog), where notifications (messages on the dash) disappear when they become of a certain age rather than when you have gotten a certain amount of messages (or at least increase the amount so that I don’t have to worry about disappearing for a week or even a month and still be able to catch up on what I missed while I was gone).

I wouldn’t feel quite so intimidated if notification (dashboard) “stacks” were a thing. Are there any other ways that might help reduce how much something can intimidate me?

If I can get sufficient help with this, I might even be able to resume this ask blog, if I can lay to rest feeling intimidated and if I can lay to rest feeling like I’m “interfering” with what you muns have planned.

Indefinite Hiatus Until Further Notice

((Hello! The mun, here. I just wanted to let you all know that I’m putting this blog on indefinite hiatus until further notice, or unless I change my mind.

I’d been thinking over this decision for a while, probably over two months now? And I came to realize....I’m happier to watch from the sidelines of the Mega Man RP community on Tumblr, and occasionally sending in anon asks from time to time as the mood strikes, much more than I’d been when actively particpating in it. I’d rather watch the mayhem unfold than get into the thick of things, if that makes any sense whatsoever?

However! This does not mean I might not change my mind later down the road. Perhaps a day will come when I’ll want to get back into the thick of things again, it’s possible I could change my mind later on.

So, in the event that I ever change my mind and decide I want to come back and more actively participate in the Mega Man community again, I’ll leave this blog open. Feel free to stick around in the event I might change my mind, or unfollow me if you so desire. I wouldn’t blame you for either choice. I do hope that some of you will stick around to at least signal boost should I ever change my mind and decide I want to take on a more active role once again, however.

you have to have contrast between your background and your text.

like…….you pretty much can’t have a dark background if you have black text because it’s super difficult to read; if i have to highlight and puzzle out what your text says because it’s two shades different than your background? i and 95% of people looking at your page are going to hit that back button REAL fast

Bad News (Sorta, Could be Good News, Depending on How You Interpret it)

((I’m reluctant to retire this blog, since I spent so much time and effort setting it up to the way I wanted it....but at this point I’m so deep in the vast number of ongoing projects of mine that I know it’ll be a long time before I resume this blog. However! That does not mean I will retire this blog! Please read on for more details about what’s going on:

The main project I’m really involved in that’s eating up most of my time is co-DMing with a close friend a Zelda RP group on Discord (for those who don’t know, Discord is a chat messenger network), and that Zelda RP is a long-term project that may take a year or more to complete. It’s a very big project that had been two years in planning and a few months in RPing.

I have other, lesser projects I’m involved in as well, from art to literature, and frankly, I’m involved in so many things, so many projects that I have to put this one on hold until the workload lessens enough that I can resume this blog.

I will announce when this blog is off-hiatus, but until further notice, I will update about once a year (to prevent my blog from being deleted by Tumblr for inactivity) on roughly this date (give or take a few days) with a blog post discussing the hiatus of this blog and my then-current situation at that future time.

That said, this blog will be on hiatus for an unknown period of time, but I do plan to eventually resume this blog later down the line.

You guys are free to unfollow me if you so desire. I cannot stop you from doing that.

Here’s to hoping I get to resume this blog again someday!

Family Dog Died

((So…..I found out that the family dog that we’ve had almost as long as my cat that died two Augusts ago and her sister that died last summer…

Died last Sunday. ;_;

Of old age.

I didn’t know he was dead. No wonder the house has been quiet….

No one told me….

Why?! Why must I continue to lose my loved ones?! -weeps-

I also had lost my nephew (who was only a few years older than me and was the picture of health?) the same summer that I lost my cat’s sister (last summer). -sobs- This is so hard….I….didn’t expect to lose four loved ones in less than two years….I’d just finally stopped having nightmares about losing my nephew, too…now I’m back to grieving all over again…))

Considering Going Off Hiatus...

((I’m considering going off hiatus for this blog, but I’m a bit on the fence.

bionicparrot, as far as I know, hasn’t been active as of late, and if I’m to proceed with my plans, I’d need Sand Man for this....I’m also still without a Dr. Cossack and a willing Kalinka to associate with this blog. The Kalinka I spoke with before had agreed to, but before anything got anywhere they just seemingly vanished. Then there’s that I really could use an association with a Pharaoh Man that wouldn’t object to interacting with a multi-muse blog.

At this point, I really don’t know what to do.

It’d also be easier to jump back into things if I had icons for my muses, but I never was able to afford it.

As for why I couldn’t afford icons for my muses even though I’d planned on commissioning them:

(1) My father lost his ability to do his line of work when he got hit by an armored truck back in April (I’m glad that at least he’s alive, but....he’s in pain, and he can’t provide for the household anymore). Before he got hurt he was making enough money to support the entire household. But now he’s still recovering from his injury, and as far as I know, he may never be able to work again.

(2) Money is so, so tight...I can’t even afford to buy dA points, much less commission artists with real money. And we all know that dA points are useless.

(3) Back in October (2016), I tried to open commissions for poetry and short stories, but no one wanted to commission me, or if they did want to, they couldn’t afford it. I only asked for about a ballpark of $3 per 100 words? http://fav.me/dbqpcmu ← This is the commission rules journal I put up on deviantART (dA)? I wanted to earn some money, to use for helping my family as well as a little spending money for myself. It is now February 13, 2017, and I’ve yet to receive a single commission from anyone interested. My family gets barely enough to scrape by, and I worry that something bad will happen and then we won’t be able to make ends meet.

((Just wanted to let you all know, this blog isn’t dead. I really want to get back into the thick of things with the MegaMan RPs but right now life is in the way. Things have been crazy this past year and even crazier the past few weeks, and will continue to be crazy for about a month, maybe a month and a half. Temporary Hiatus

Dunno if anyone will care, but I’m going to “disappear” for about two to three weeks (rough estimate) due to needing to get my computer fixed. I’ll be using my Wii U browser to try to access the internet, but there’s a good chance I won’t be able to access Tumblr from it. (The Wii U’s browser has compatibility issues with most websites). You’ll likely be able to reach me on deviantART during that time, though.
