The skeleton’s eyes dart to follow Evelyn’s hand movement and he himself seemed a bit taken off guard. His right hand moves across his chest to absentmindedly thumb at the point his own ribbon was tied to his left arm. He didn’t know why but the gesture was always soothing. He also, for some reason, did not seem to recall why. In fact, now that he thought about it, he didn’t even ever recall who gave it to him to begin with.
Just.. They were important somehow. Very important to him. What was he forgetting?
* we sure do.. huh. that’s quite a coincidence. you sure we haven’t met somewhere or somethin’? maybe we shop the same brand. heh heh.
The way he jokes seems easy going enough but it was obvious there was now something on Sans’ mind. His voice and thoughts seemed disconnected from the conversation.
The human appears to be even more confused by the skeleton’s response. Her lips pursed as she watched him gently brush his fingers over his own ribbon. It couldn’t be right that the two had shopped at the same place, or favored similar brands.
The ribbon she had was hand made.
“Do you happen to remember where you got your ribbon?”
“Not so sound creepy or anything, I’m just incredibly curious! I’ve only met one other monster with a ribbon like that. And I made it for her.”
A long pause before she laughed, tucking her hands in her pants pockets,
“I’m wondering if I somehow started a trend without knowing, hahaha!”
* well, you see, i.. --the thing about that is.
There’s an awkward pause as the skeleton raises an open hand slightly in front of him, brow ridge furrowing as he literally grasps the air for some kind of thread of thought he can’t quite find.
* how i got it was. ..it was given to me. i know i got it as a gift. a good luck charm.
Another break in his speech as his jaw sets somewhat. His quiet, somber confusion is almost palpable from his next words.
* i wish i could remember who they were.
