The goat sat upon the steps that lie at the entrance to the camp, busying herself with rewrapping the bandages around her forelegs. The soreness had long since disappeared, and cult life was relatively back to normal.

Glancing around the camp, she pushed herself up into a standing position, limping over to the leader's tent and opening up the flap.

"Lamb..?"

As goat approached the tent they could hear the lamb laughing.... or crying? It was hard to make out. As the cloth by the entrance was moved aside they see the young god on the floor, bloodied claws digging into the ground beneath them as they whisper to themselves. "... snapping wires, breaking,.... Baahahaaha... screaming wrath, their song is singing in your ears, rupture through your skull, these accidental visions--" Their eyes snap open as the other speaks up, their eyes, red and bloodied tears running down their cheeks, focus on them immediately at the exact same moment as their crown's eye and they instinctively cast a curse upon the sudden intruder, a trail of toxic black ichor erupting their way.

Almost casually, the goat sidestepped the curse, sighing heavily. This wasn't the first time this had happened, that's for sure. And speaking form experience, it wasn't fun. Not at all.

"Crown pain, huh? Been there." She commented, walking in.

"Need anything? Water, tea?"

Their eyes track the other who so casually dodges their attack.... calm.... unafraid. "Goat..." It is all they manage to respond for now, their voice tainted by divine power... it it was a follower who walked in they might have left scarred by horrors beyond their mortal comprehension, if they would have survived the attack thrown their way... They shake, looking back at the ground before them and the blood that drips down from their cheeks. Another tense laugh escapes them. "I see it, I speak it, I hear it, I know it, I can feel it, all of it..."

The goat sighed. Divinity was...definitely not a pleasant experience, so, she wasn't against the lamb for doing this. Grabbing a cloth, she made her way forward and dabbed the damp surface on the lamb's cheek, soaking up a good bit of the blood.

"Hey, deep breaths, lamb. Deep breaths." She mumbled soothingly.

They grab onto the other's arm, so tightly their claws dig in and draw blood. Clearly they aren't in full control of their strength right now. Otherwise they stay still as the other cleans their face, staring unblinkingly. Following the goat's instructions, they take deep breaths, trembling as they do so. Eventually their grip does loosen a little. "I know all but what I am..."

The goat ignored the tight grip of the lamb, smiling softly and continuing to dab at the blood. All in all, this wasn't unusual. Wrapping the lamb in a hug, she decided they needed the warmth rather than anything else during this moment.

It is not of much use unfortunately as they keep crying more blood, but still the gesture.... the gentle touch grounds them. Tense in the other's embrace but not fighting it as they sob. "What am it... What am I........Goat?"

Their arms wrap around the other, cling on tightly. They resist the urge to try claw a way in, to get closer yet. Her arms are strong around them, also divine... not scared of them. "Hold me....tighter..."

She chuckled, complying with his raspy request. Divinity was...an odd concept. You'd think it'd be all power and fun. You'd think wrong.

"You're a cult leader, Lamb. You rule over an amazing group as the new god of death."

She whispered soothingly.

"And most of all, you're the only friend I've got."

"Am I? ....am I?" They sound unsure, but the arms tightening around them help calm them... help them stay grounded when around them the world seems to be tearing at its seams, seeing parts of reality they shouldn't. "I can't tell what..... it is so loud." They hold their head.

"Shh...shh..."

The goat urged, hoping to stifle the lamb's pain. It was unbearable, she knew -- but it was tolerable when you could share it.

"It's going to be okay...you're going to be okay..."

"You don't.... you don't know me.... noone knows me, I don't know me..." The ramble on, another sob that turns into a crazed chuckle as they dig their claws into the other's back. "I want you to know me.."

While the rambling was somewhat confusing, the goat did catch that last part.

"...Then let me know you. Tell me what it is that haunts you..."

She soothed, trying to fill the hollow space inside the lamb from their divinity.

"Vengence...." They whisper darkly, the word echoing from the crown.

"I stop at nothing.... even with their heretic hearts ripped from their corpses..... it is not enough.... it's never enough..."

They pull away from the hug some so their bloodied red eyes look up at the other's, seeming.... lost. "Tell me....... have I become as they were... what I hate...."

To this, the goat's eyes widened, and she shook her head vigorously.

"No...no, Lamb, you will never be what they were."

She sighed.

"They meaningessly hurt and manipulated thousands. You have good, noble reasons for what you do. Never compare yourself to them."

"Noble reasons...." They look down, not seeming very convinced. Would the old gods not have thought of themselves the same? "But when... does a comet become a meteor...? When does a candle become a blaze? When does a ripple become a tidal wave? When does the reason become the blame? When does a lamb become.... a monster?"

To this, the goat didn't know how to answer. All she could do was hug the lamb tighter, a single tear rolling down her cheek as she choked back a sob. She felt the lamb's pain as if it were her own.

Lamb clung onto the other again, more sobs sounding from them as well as their bloodied tears spill on the goat's cloak. Is there a way? To be a just god? Is there such a thing as justice in this world? "I'm sorry..."

The goat sniffed, locking gazes with the lamb. It felt as if there was an infinite darkness surrounding them. Suffocating them. Closing in.

"Don't be...you have nothing to apologize for..."

Darkness surrounds them both, but they got eachother to hold onto. And the air that they need.... They pull the other closer by the furr beneath her chin and their lips collide for a desperate kiss. It takes like blood and ichor.

The goat froze for just a moment, before melting into the gesture, on hand coming up to cup the lamb's cheek and deepen the kiss.

Through the tastes of blood and ichor, the kiss is intoxicating, keeping the negativity and the horrors of divinity at bay.

They tilt their head, leaning into the other's touch as they allow the kiss to deepen. It feels warm and intense and real and for this moment helped distract them from all the pain and horrors plagueing them. When they pull away again, the lamb's eyes are mostly returned to normal, only their irises still having that shimmer of red. "So you do... truly see me... and yet.... you do not back away in fear..."

"I do not. I have no reason to. You are my everything, Lamb."

Her words carried infinite sincerity, without a hint of deceit or false promises.

Lamb looks upon the others, for this one moment no barries that stops their eyes from being a gateway to their soul. Tears still run down their cheeks as they gently hold onto the other's face with both their palms, blood still on the tips of their hooves. "I do not fear you either. No part of you I will look away from..."

She nodded, intertwining her fingers with his.

"And same from me to you, lamb." She conceded, her voice never wavering with a lack of conviction nor regret.

Sighing they lean forward, their horns knocking gently against eachother. "It did quiet down a little now.... but my head still hurts..."

"Yeah, I know...just sit it out...with me..." She whispered.

Nodding, they take another deep breath and lean into her embrace, resting their head on the other's shoulder. "It feels.... like it is hungry... always, but more now..."

"It always will, Lamb. But I'm here to help you through it. AS you always will be to me."

The goat sat upon the steps that lie at the entrance to the camp, busying herself with rewrapping the bandages around her forelegs. The soreness had long since disappeared, and cult life was relatively back to normal.

Glancing around the camp, she pushed herself up into a standing position, limping over to the leader's tent and opening up the flap.

"Lamb..?"

As goat approached the tent they could hear the lamb laughing.... or crying? It was hard to make out. As the cloth by the entrance was moved aside they see the young god on the floor, bloodied claws digging into the ground beneath them as they whisper to themselves. "... snapping wires, breaking,.... Baahahaaha... screaming wrath, their song is singing in your ears, rupture through your skull, these accidental visions--" Their eyes snap open as the other speaks up, their eyes, red and bloodied tears running down their cheeks, focus on them immediately at the exact same moment as their crown's eye and they instinctively cast a curse upon the sudden intruder, a trail of toxic black ichor erupting their way.

Almost casually, the goat sidestepped the curse, sighing heavily. This wasn't the first time this had happened, that's for sure. And speaking form experience, it wasn't fun. Not at all.

"Crown pain, huh? Been there." She commented, walking in.

"Need anything? Water, tea?"

Their eyes track the other who so casually dodges their attack.... calm.... unafraid. "Goat..." It is all they manage to respond for now, their voice tainted by divine power... it it was a follower who walked in they might have left scarred by horrors beyond their mortal comprehension, if they would have survived the attack thrown their way... They shake, looking back at the ground before them and the blood that drips down from their cheeks. Another tense laugh escapes them. "I see it, I speak it, I hear it, I know it, I can feel it, all of it..."

The goat sighed. Divinity was...definitely not a pleasant experience, so, she wasn't against the lamb for doing this. Grabbing a cloth, she made her way forward and dabbed the damp surface on the lamb's cheek, soaking up a good bit of the blood.

"Hey, deep breaths, lamb. Deep breaths." She mumbled soothingly.

They grab onto the other's arm, so tightly their claws dig in and draw blood. Clearly they aren't in full control of their strength right now. Otherwise they stay still as the other cleans their face, staring unblinkingly. Following the goat's instructions, they take deep breaths, trembling as they do so. Eventually their grip does loosen a little. "I know all but what I am..."

The goat ignored the tight grip of the lamb, smiling softly and continuing to dab at the blood. All in all, this wasn't unusual. Wrapping the lamb in a hug, she decided they needed the warmth rather than anything else during this moment.

The goat sat upon the steps that lie at the entrance to the camp, busying herself with rewrapping the bandages around her forelegs. The soreness had long since disappeared, and cult life was relatively back to normal.

Glancing around the camp, she pushed herself up into a standing position, limping over to the leader's tent and opening up the flap.

"Lamb..?"

As goat approached the tent they could hear the lamb laughing.... or crying? It was hard to make out. As the cloth by the entrance was moved aside they see the young god on the floor, bloodied claws digging into the ground beneath them as they whisper to themselves. "... snapping wires, breaking,.... Baahahaaha... screaming wrath, their song is singing in your ears, rupture through your skull, these accidental visions--" Their eyes snap open as the other speaks up, their eyes, red and bloodied tears running down their cheeks, focus on them immediately at the exact same moment as their crown's eye and they instinctively cast a curse upon the sudden intruder, a trail of toxic black ichor erupting their way.

Almost casually, the goat sidestepped the curse, sighing heavily. This wasn't the first time this had happened, that's for sure. And speaking form experience, it wasn't fun. Not at all.

"Crown pain, huh? Been there." She commented, walking in.

"Need anything? Water, tea?"

Their eyes track the other who so casually dodges their attack.... calm.... unafraid. "Goat..." It is all they manage to respond for now, their voice tainted by divine power... it it was a follower who walked in they might have left scarred by horrors beyond their mortal comprehension, if they would have survived the attack thrown their way... They shake, looking back at the ground before them and the blood that drips down from their cheeks. Another tense laugh escapes them. "I see it, I speak it, I hear it, I know it, I can feel it, all of it..."

The goat sighed. Divinity was...definitely not a pleasant experience, so, she wasn't against the lamb for doing this. Grabbing a cloth, she made her way forward and dabbed the damp surface on the lamb's cheek, soaking up a good bit of the blood.

"Hey, deep breaths, lamb. Deep breaths." She mumbled soothingly.

They grab onto the other's arm, so tightly their claws dig in and draw blood. Clearly they aren't in full control of their strength right now. Otherwise they stay still as the other cleans their face, staring unblinkingly. Following the goat's instructions, they take deep breaths, trembling as they do so. Eventually their grip does loosen a little. "I know all but what I am..."

The goat ignored the tight grip of the lamb, smiling softly and continuing to dab at the blood. All in all, this wasn't unusual. Wrapping the lamb in a hug, she decided they needed the warmth rather than anything else during this moment.

It is not of much use unfortunately as they keep crying more blood, but still the gesture.... the gentle touch grounds them. Tense in the other's embrace but not fighting it as they sob. "What am it... What am I........Goat?"

Their arms wrap around the other, cling on tightly. They resist the urge to try claw a way in, to get closer yet. Her arms are strong around them, also divine... not scared of them. "Hold me....tighter..."

She chuckled, complying with his raspy request. Divinity was...an odd concept. You'd think it'd be all power and fun. You'd think wrong.

"You're a cult leader, Lamb. You rule over an amazing group as the new god of death."

She whispered soothingly.

"And most of all, you're the only friend I've got."

"Am I? ....am I?" They sound unsure, but the arms tightening around them help calm them... help them stay grounded when around them the world seems to be tearing at its seams, seeing parts of reality they shouldn't. "I can't tell what..... it is so loud." They hold their head.

The goat urged, hoping to stifle the lamb's pain. It was unbearable, she knew -- but it was tolerable when you could share it.

"It's going to be okay...you're going to be okay..."

"You don't.... you don't know me.... noone knows me, I don't know me..." The ramble on, another sob that turns into a crazed chuckle as they dig their claws into the other's back. "I want you to know me.."

While the rambling was somewhat confusing, the goat did catch that last part.

"...Then let me know you. Tell me what it is that haunts you..."

She soothed, trying to fill the hollow space inside the lamb from their divinity.

"Vengence...." They whisper darkly, the word echoing from the crown.

"I stop at nothing.... even with their heretic hearts ripped from their corpses..... it is not enough.... it's never enough..."

They pull away from the hug some so their bloodied red eyes look up at the other's, seeming.... lost. "Tell me....... have I become as they were... what I hate...."

"No...no, Lamb, you will never be what they were."

She sighed.

"They meaningessly hurt and manipulated thousands. You have good, noble reasons for what you do. Never compare yourself to them."
