Is Aaron still president? I do hope so… I was worried that some sort of tyrant would take his place when I left for France but he presumably is still in office! Which… I’m not sure how… considering he was legally deceased for a few months…. But if I think too hard about it I’ll hit someone with my carriage because I am typing while driving!!! 😊😊😊

I hope you are well, and the sea is treating you kindly. I am writing in order to warn you about the man for whom you are heading back to the States: Aaron Burr. Since he returned, he seems to have acquired some... animalistic tendencies. Although I do not have much knowledge on his current form, I do not think his thirst for blood shall finish at that rabbit.

Be careful around that man. You do not know what he shall do to you when your back is turned.

I did not expect to hear from you again after the events that unfolded, it’s a pleasure(?)

I’m not sure what to make of this message, but you’ve given me no reason to not trust you. Following your advice I will remain alert, however I have to see him. I need answers to all the questions I’ve been asking myself the past few months. I don’t understand what you mean by “animalistic” tendencies. Honestly I feel as though he already resembled that of an animal, foolishly compulsive and never seeming to know when to call it quits.

However he is a man that I truly do adore with everything in me. I can’t give up on him no matter how foolish he is, or how foolish that makes me. I know that I am a naive fool for going back time and time again, but this time it’ll be different. Thank you for your concern. I have already arrived back here to America.

Are you angry?

No. I never could be. A part of me wishes I could be. I wish I felt more than confusion and longing.

I should be angry, I should curse him and turn away like nothing ever happened but I know I don’t want that. Even if I did want that, I could never.

I feel bitter. I feel empty and full of energy all at once, I feel so much love yet there’s a sour taste in the back of my throat. I just wish I understood this all. I wish I didn’t feel as if I’m going to hurl.

Final statement.

After the events that I, as well as yourselves have witnessed today, I find myself unable to continue in this path.

Death beckons for me, promises that I can end this all with one final show of victory against everyone that has ever wronged me. But I know that thought is false. My death would not be a victory, It would be defeat. No more and no less than submission.

But, I shan’t stay here any longer.

From this day forward I willingly give up my position as Secretary of State, and my roll in the foundation of our nation.

I have decided to go back to France indefinitely. Somewhere where I may finally find peace, but I highly doubt I ever truly will after what I have witnessed. Death awaits me, just as it awaits you all as well. I can not run from it, it will find me when it is my turn.

I may be back, or I may not. Only time will tell.
