Welcome to Ask Warrior Jaypaw!!

This is an Ask Blog surrounding an AU in which Jaypaw continues being a Warrior Apprentice, and Hollypaw continues as a medicine cat. The ask blog centers around Jaypaw's perspective, and scarcely deviates. But that's not the only change, and most will be revealed soon enough :)

Guidelines for Asks:

Don't ask OOC questions here!! If you have any AWJ-related OOC questions, you can go to my personal blog, @gasp-its-a-vixen, which is always open for AWJ asks. (There, I will also be posting WIPs for ask responses or other AWJ things).

If I receive an ask that's already been answered before, I likely won't answer it unless it can relate back to the plot in some way.

You can ask characters other than Jaypaw things, as long as they're in his 'inner circle' (his family, other apprentices, and friends). Cross-clan friendships can only have asks directed towards them as long as they're in the same area as Jaypaw. Otherwise, go away!

Don't ask questions that reveal the future plot. If you know something BIG, don't tell Jaypaw or the other characters. If it's something minor, like a 'look out' if the previous act revealed Lionpaw was about to pounce on him, then feel free!

Magic anons ARE acceptable as long as I can work them into the plot and wouldn't damage the timeline for the ask blog itself.

AWJ ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? About two years, actually, oops.

I’m sorry AWJ ended so abruptly and without warning (well, except for just shouting “HIATUS”, which was really Wattpad-author of me). A lot of personal factors led to me abandoning the project despite the love I had for it, but I never stopped thinking of both the ask blog and the AU itself.

Over my absence, I debated rebooting it in the form of either a fanfiction or comic, but neither felt right for AWJ’s universe. And after debating it over with myself for some time, I decided to re-open AWJ on a new Tumblr blog.

@askwarriorjaypaw is where you’ll find new updates to the AWJ universe! It’ll be rebooted from the beginning, and updates might be a bit regular than the original AWJ, but it’ll be consistent while still putting less pressure on myself.

I hope you’ll enjoy my remake of AWJ’s story over there. Thank you all 🩵

Jaypaw, has your dad told you much about your uncle Hawkfrost? If so what has he said?

OOC // on my personal blog, @gasp-its-a-vixen, i’m going to be answering some of the ooc awj asks i’ve gotten over the months (the ones i can actually answer anyway), as well as answer and sketch some of the unanswered in-character asks i wasn’t able to get to before certain scenes ended.

so if your ask was never answered, there’s a chance it’ll show up on my personal blog with a few sketches alongside them!! if your ask wasn’t anon, i’ll probably tag you so you’re notified of such, similar to how you’re typically notified when an ask is answered.

these ask responses will be considered canon to the awj ‘lore’ (trust me though, there is lore, i have an entire timeline plotted out with different sections, i am SO happy to finally be getting to that), and just ‘hidden scenes’ or such. they won’t be referenced in future parts, likely, mostly so people starting out awj don’t have to switch between blogs too often, and won’t be full-drawn lest i go insane.

Jaypaw has now reached the Starpool, what Starclan cats use to enter mortals' dreams. He is the only mortal able to access this pool through his dreams.

The night doesn't last forever. He has four dreams he's able to walk into before the sun rises. A poll will be held for each dream. After he walks in the dreams of four cats, he will wake.

Each of the dreams listed are equally important to the plot, so don't worry about 'wasting' a vote.

there i’ll also include what style changes you can expect to the ask warrior jaypaw blog if the poll turns out positive to the changes, as well as wips/unposted wips that i’ll never finish for the blog because i forgot or another ask came in that made the other ask impossible to answer or for said answer to change.

i’ve been wanting to do a design change for a while for a lot of the characters, mostly because the other designs were made years ago, but i didn’t have any other designs in mind to use. the designs i’m voting on here are for an animatic my sister is working on that i made the designs for, and decided i really liked

ignore the labels for these btw, again, they’re for an animatic, also for holly ignore the “i’m actually not part of the prophecy” design aspect because in this au, she is!!

since these designs are a LOT more complex than just different shaped fur (i,,, did not like having that be the only difference between characters, it felt lazy, but as mentioned before they were the only designs i had/could make up in enough time) the ask responses will take quite a bit longer. also, because i’m returning to full color as well as the addition of actually drawn backgrounds!!!!! (maybe shading tbh. i’m debating adding cell shading) it’s a big change for this blog. a lot of the other designs will be changed in similar manners, but these are the only relevant characters who i’ll be adding this for. a lot of my art style has changed as well and i’ve been hating drawing in the art style for the ask blog lol. i’m working on different shaped eyes (not rlly shown in these tho), different eyebrows, adding whiskers, different designs for ears, varying body types, etc. (ALSO ALSO the floppy ears are from firestar’s sister, princess, that squilf and lion both inherited)

and another thing sorry for adding so announcements here but asks are closed in relation to the longest night gathering!! you can ask questions in preparation for the next day, but before that, there is a thing i’m working on that i think you’ll all take interest in :)

hiiii my dog is actively dying, so posts will be minimal if any!! if she does end up passing (theres a small chance she wont, and im holding onto that), ill likely throw myself into drawing (as a distraction) or take a break for a few weeks. sorry about the announcement, but i really need some time for myself to deal with this

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!!! she’s not fully recovered yet, but she’s making a steady recovery. here’s a picture of the aforementioned darling dog! her name is mollie, she’s ~15, and a golden retriever. we didn’t think she’d make it in all honesty. she has a lot of cancer, pancreatitis, arthritis, and is mostly deaf and starting to loose her eyesight. she’s been getting better, she was severely dehydrated beforehand (she always has water available so we don’t know how, it’s in a raised bowl too so her back isn’t strained) and had breathing issues and arrhythmia, but she somehow managed to pull through.
