Kestrelflight! Silly guy, I enjoy him. Hated designing him though. I like how it turned out but it was so annoying.

Kestrelflight and his brothers, Harestar and Buzzardkit, were born to a kittypet and Weaselfur of WindClan when they were very young. Weaselfur brought them to the Clan accepting any insults he took for what he did, and did his best to raise the kits, though he was young and inexperienced. Barkface found potential in Kestrelflight from a young age (though he also found him slightly annoying at times), and made him his apprentice despite protest from the more conservative WindClan cats.

In my rewrite, WindClan is suffering from a bottlenecked population from a disaster before Tallstar's Revenge, and there are many cats with unknown fathers. WindClan has also historically been closer with outsiders (the rogue group in Tallstar's Revenge), so for these reasons they aren't as strict with bloodlines as the other Clans, but they do still discriminate based on blood relations. Kits without mothers are more scrutinized than kits without fathers, because not having a father has plausible deniability (technically the father could be from inside the clan), but cats without an obvious mother are pretty much assumed to be from outside the Clan. This is because most cats would notice if a cat was pregnant, and then suddenly they left for a while, came back not pregnant, and now there's a bunch of kits without a mother claiming them, lol. In the case of Yellowfang and Leafpool, they both have cats who they claim were the mothers instead, Foxscratch (Foxheart) and Squirrelflight respectively (Foxscratch is there with Yellowfang for the birth and claims that the kits are hers, but that she can't produce milk for them), but this is often not the case. Because of this, Weaselfur decided to just come out and say who the mother of his kits was, instead of letting their be rumours and speculation about them.

He's wearing bright eye, a very rarely mentioned herb. I forgot why I gave it to him. I'm just gonna say it's because it's vibrant and matches his personality.
