Do you enjoy GK2? Also, I don't mean to be rude, but did the Co-Mod say anything after you figured out that they were a Trump supporter but before you left?
I haven't played it yet! I'm waiting for the Switch release. And no, he didn't. We thought about confronting him, but then we found out the other Mod was a Trump supporter, too, so we felt outnumbered and just wanted out.
I'm sorry if this question is rude (I promise I'm not trying to make it sound rude), but what did Trump specifically do that's bad?
.....It's not that you're rude; it's that you're willfully ignorant.
I'm not going to look up info on every single racist, sexist, homophobic, ableist, unprofessional, incompetent thing Trump has done, because it's been all over the news for the past four years. Look it up yourself (and just so we're clear, Fox News is not a credible source).
Mod Paups is leaving. There may be hope of Mod Kristoph not being a Tr*mpet yet.
Huh...I had to look that up on the blog itself. They don't state the reason, but that is interesting to know.
this is for that religion anon mostly, feel free to tack on! but hi, queer transmasc former nazarene christian here. left the church because of the argument that they couldn't accept my actions because of religion. point blank, it's a bullshit excuse that fundamentally runs counter to the core teachings of most religions, which is love and acceptance. the idea of "hate the sin, not the sinner" is not biblical by any means, and has no basis in written scripture.
Sorry to hear that, friend.
And I agree: anyone who uses Christianity to justify their hatred or simply being judgmental is running counter to everything Jesus stood for. And while I can't claim to be an expert on other religions, I can only assume the same is true for their own core values.
Also, Happy Pride!
Religion question anon here. No, what I was trying to get at was not assuming you'd discriminate against religion. I apologize if it came across that way. What my question meant was that would you have had a similar reaction to what happened on the Ask blog if you found out that you worked among someone who, for religious reasons, did not, for lack of a better word, 'endorse' the LGBTQ+ community. It's why my example was Catholsicim. (cnt in next ask)
"To be clear, I don't mean someone like an extremist calling for violence against the community, but someone who cannot endorse it due to religious beliefs but doesn't try to actively change the way you or the community do things.
Finally, as to what it has to do with anything... well, you made it clear you left the blog due to the other members supporting Trump. Trump was actively against the LGBT!+ community. However, I have seen claims that any religion that isn't okay with LGBTQ+, even if the don't try to actively harm the community, should be treated similarly. (cnt in next ask).
As for being Christian Mod Vera, that doesn't say much, what with the many denominations of Christianity. For example, Catholiscm doesn't endorse the LGBTQ+ direct actions, but the current Pope has said that he has no place to judge the community and doesn't promote hate or actions against it. So it's a wide spectrum."
So...you acknowledge that religion and people of faith exist on a spectrum, but you still generalize everything as being anti-LGBTQ+? LGBTQ+ and allies of faith exist (including myself), as do gay churches. And the higher-ups of organized religion do not represent all people in their communion. It's such a gross overgeneralization.
Whoever gave those "claims" that any religion isn't okay with LGBT+ is dead wrong. The two camps have a bad history, but there are many who are working on repairs. And they are not mutually exclusive.
And btw, given how homophobic and transphobic the Trump administration was, your question has already been answered. I, as a bi/demi woman, do not sit comfortably alongside MAGA hatters.
Hi I'm an idiot, what's DGS, im really slow
Dai Gyakuten Saiban, aka The Great Ace Attorney
Perhaps an odd question, but one that I ask anyway just to get some clarity. Feel free to ignore or not want to give an answer. Had the case not been that your fellow mods were Trump supporters but you simply found out that they were religious, say Catholics or something similar, would you have also left? Specifcially not that they spoke of those views or tried to promote them, but just were.
What...does that have to do with anything? No, we don't discriminate against someone for their religion.
And btw, I'm Christian (not Catholic, but still). So that's like, doubly irrelevant.

Looking through your backlog of posts, I think I’d love to see the two of you run a headcanons blog! Definitely not trying to force y’all to do anything you don’t feel like doing but I think it would be a fun counter to the weird block Ask Ace Attorney always seemed to have against suggesting that characters might be LGBT+. Regardless I have a lot of respect for y’all!
Thank you! I think I am heavily considering a DGS focused one since I like those games more than the main series, but it wouldn't be updated as frequently as the original. It depends though, I personally feel that the original mod was the absolute best at writing letters, but DGS is new ground, so it would be fun to see what people would have to ask.
Tumblr is a bit on the quiet/dead side though...I think it's more of a we'll see, but also am considering in doing it if there's interest.

On a lighter note are you team Ladder or Stepladder
Mod Maya: Been thinking about this for a few days. I think ladder, stepladder is a mouthful and who even uses plain ladders
do you guys have characters that you wrote a lot for/liked writing the most?
mod maya: I didn’t get to answer too many letters! I was going to return this summer, but you know. I really liked writing the WAA trio, and Maya. Kristoph was fun when I wanted to be snobby. Nick and Apollo are tied for me for their sarcasm
I just realized that your situation is like what happened to Apollo in Turnabout Trump. You and Apollo discovered that your bosses or senior partners are evil. How do you feel about this comparison?
at least
kristoph gavin is
1) hot
2) not a trump supporter
Do you think Lana’s “intellectual attraction” to Mia was just that or do you think it was something more?
Honestly, it could go a lot of ways. It could be that Capcom had Ema clarify "intellectual" attraction as a sort of caveat, as not to confirm anything else. That's if you're looking at the circumstances around the game's development
It could also be the more fun option, looking at characterization and subtext, that Ema herself (being the dumb nerd that she is) thought the two were nothing more than "study buddies." To her mind, it makes perfect sense that two like-minded women excelling in a male-dominated environment would be drawn to each other.
And that could be it. But then, intellect is attractive, for both Mia and Lana. It's easy to see how that could be a jumping-off point for deeper feelings.
You could make a case for either option, and you wouldn't be wrong. Personally, I like the idea of there being an undercurrent of attraction between two ladies working together to succeed in a man's world.
Hi, I just wanted to say I support your decision to leave the Ask Ace Attorney blog. As a female person of color, the political climate the last few years has been really scary. I really hope that things will calm down in the future. On a lighter note, I love Ace Attorney, and I look forward to seeing your posts in the future! :)
I’ve been so worried for you all in the States these past four years, but of course, that’s nothing in comparison to the stress of actually living in the thick of it. I’m hoping Biden makes good on his promises, for all your sakes.
And I’m not sure what the two of us might do in the near future, but maybe I’ll take this opportunity to draw more AA art on my Twitter. Remind myself what I love about the series and the community as a whole!
I HC Phoenix as pansexual. Allows for Narumitsu without erasing Dahlia/Iris from his love life history.
Oooh, I’ve thought about bi Phoenix before, but I like the way you think!
lol did you see the cowardly reply they did to asks about the matter? Actively selecting ones that paint them in a good light and saying bullshit takes like "politics don't define our character" like I'm sorry but your politics got 500k-600k people killed in a pandemic it is VERY indicative of your character.
Yeah, I’ve read it. It seems their support of Trump is “selective,” but the thing they’re not grasping is how that’s not really an option. Trump and his administration actively hate people of colour, the LGBT+ community, immigrants, the lower class, basically everyone who’s not them. And no cherry-picked examples of supposed “good” is worth ignoring everything else. Especially when you give them money and then say “bite me.”
And you know what? Since Mod Edgeworth is asking questions, here’s my answers @askaceattorney. And obviously, I can’t speak on Mod Maya’s behalf here:
1. You’re sick of politics? So am I. So is every marginalized person. Here’s the thing, though: ignoring or not caring about politics is not an option most people can afford. It’s ingrained into daily life. Even me, as an out white woman, have to be careful sometimes, and it’s much worse for people who can’t keep their marginalized identity in the closet, like POC. I don’t know why I have to say this, but politics matter.
2. You wanted to know why we didn’t tell you anything? Easy. From the moment you told us you supported a man who wants people like us dead, we knew you’d never be on our side. We were scared. And not just of your pro-Trump stance, but your sheer apathy. How you shrugged it off and didn’t - and still don’t - understand what the big deal is, and are then surprised when we feel outnumbered, unwelcome and looking for the door.
3. The proof of the bigotry and violence Trump supported and empowered if everywhere. The January insurrection. The rise in hate crimes. His open mocking of a disabled person, and the charged language he uses to describe BLM protestors while telling white supremacists to “stand by.” If you can’t see what he means by a “great” America (or “supporting patriotism”) take your blinders off.
4. LGBT+ topics are not taboo. If you really want to claim to support our community, NORMALIZE US. Don’t write us off as “divisive”; that’s the whole problem. If you don’t know how to write non-het ships (which isn’t any different from straight ships, really), then learn. If you leave that wall up, it never goes away.
5. I’m really curious what is meant by “talking this out.” What is there to discuss? Is it not obvious that a MAGA hat is a literal red flag? Mod Edgeworth, you said it yourself: discrimination makes it hard to be open about your identity. It would be borderline self-destructive to walk up to someone wearing a MAGA hat and go, “Hey, I’m gay. Can we work together in the same space?”
Sorry for the tangent, but I really can’t understand how they’re missing that for us, this is not just an issue of “opinion.” We need to be in spaces where we don’t have to worry for our safety and acceptance, and this just wasn’t it.
Let’s encourage a more LGBT positive view of the Ace Attorney franchise. Something I’ve always wanted to see: how would Robin Newman approach realizing she’s a lesbian?
After her first sort-of “coming out,” I think Robin would ecstatically approach new revelations about herself. It can be a little nerve-racking at times, but she’s already felt how amazing it can be to live your truth and embrace all parts of yourself.
