((Well, this is an interesting take on Seija’s past. I can’t translate a whole lot of Japanese, but from what I can gleam: Seija is actually half-oni, having been born to a human mother and an oni father.

Her father was forced to return home to be with the onis (I think?). Seija’s mother then fell ill and died young, leaving Seija an orphan.))
