what was your dream job as a child?

I wanted to be an artist. I like to draw and paint... well, now it's like doodling and coloring books nowadays. I guess I can get back into painting again. Some of the patients' rooms are in need of some color. If the hospital would let me of course.

What Disney princess do you identify with the most?

Kuzco. I have days I feel like a llama. Don't ask me why.

How has your career affected your relationships?

I haven't had one since I've started working here so I guess there's that.

Do you believe the ghost or spirits of those who died at Storybrooke General still roam the halls?

Definitely. I don't know if it was my twenty-hour work day or what but I swore a patient from another floor told me that her husband was cheating on her and that she hid her jewelry in the patient lock box. She gave me the room number and said I could have it. I didn't believe her. For one thing, she was in the wrong floor and out of all the nurses in the hospital, why me? Sure thing, I went up to her floor just to be check to make sure she was where she was supposed to be but then the nurse stationed there said she had just died the night before....

What is the most difficult part about working with children?

Trying to keep it together when I see them suffering in any way. It's hard to hold back any emotion when they're in pain and there's not much I can do but help keep them comfortable. It's also a hard thing to see them leave too since I always grow attached. I'm an emotional wreck every time that happens! From both happiness that they're better but also I know I'll miss them.

Have you ever grown too attached to a patient?

A little too many times to count. I get a little too emotional sometimes but I have to remind myself it's always a good thing when they get better and get to go home.

If you couldn't be a nurse, what other job do you imagine you would have had instead?

I guess I could have been a teacher or an artist. I used to play teacher and my stuffed animals were my students. I love drawing and painting but it's been a while. The most I art I do nowadays is coloring books with the kids in the play room.

Long hours at the hospital has got to take a toll on ones social life. Have you ever found yourself thinking about a coworker because of this?

I don't know if that would be a good idea. A lot of drama happens when coworkers start to date. I know it works for some people and I'm so happy for them but with my luck, I just might screw it up.

As someone who obviously believes in medicine, do you believe in ghosts? How about aliens?

I do believe both aliens and ghosts exist. Along with bigfoot and the Loch Ness monster. Seriously, I know they're all real. I've heard stories that this hospital could be haunted but I think the graveyard staff are just trying to scare me.

After being injured in a car accident as a child, one of Alice’s fond memories of recovering in the hospital was all the nurses she met. She had always wanted to be a pediatric nurse and bring a little comfort to the kids as she knew being in a hospital could be a frightening experience for a child. She always worked well with kids, being able to take them to another world with her stories and the toys she often brought during their visit. Once in a while, she organized small tea parties in the play area to bring joy to both staff and patients.

The Patronus is a form of advance magic which even the most qualified wizards struggle with. Have you been able to do it? If so, what is your Patronus?

Yes! I was able to conjure a Patronus in a form of a wild rabbit! I just had to think of the fun times I had with my parents when we sailed on my father's boat and he taught me how to steer.

What do you think of werewolves? What would you do if you learned that a werewolf was working for the school?

I've never met one but I'm sure they're not exactly creatures you could just play fetch with. If a werewolf was working for the school, I'll make sure I don't go to class during the full moon unless they take a potion to prevent them from turning. I do trust Hogwarts staff would not endanger the students in such a way.

Who is your biggest confidant at Hogwarts?

I've always looked up to my cousin, Killian. He's so cool. I wish I was as clever and made a lot of friends like he has. I know our families were never the closest but I hope going to Hogwarts together changes that.

Henry’s eyes widened at the mention of Alice’s favorite spot on campus. He didn’t have the chance to really explore the grounds as much as he would have liked to if only because he worried about someone seeing him (like his parents) and them getting the wrong impression of why exactly he had wanted to wonder off in the first place. But with a mind as creative as his, It never did him any good to just sit around in a classroom all day. That only ever seemed to boggle down his creativity. He was glad that Alice seemed to understand him and what he was needing. 

Hesitantly, he shrugged. Of course he’d love the chance to see the castle and see her favorite spot but he worried that her spot would no longer be just hers. Though with a school as old as Hogwarts any space that the two of them had discovered and deemed their own likely had multitudes of wizards using that spot in previous years anyways. But they were among some of the greatest wizardry minds the world had ever known. Maybe some of their past creativity could make their way to Henry.

“I would love to see the Lake. It sounds so awesome. Of course if you’d like to share it with a pesky and annoying Gryffindor like me.” Henry teased softly. But really, he didn’t get why Hogwarts made such a big deal about the Houses and keeping the students apart. Besides, most times he certainly didn’t feel like a Gryffindor anyways.

“Don’t be silly, Henry. Of course I would share it with you.” Alice gave a chuckle, surprised and a bit saddened at how he spoke of himself. Henry was far from pesky and annoying and whoever made him feel such a way must be a miserable person. She reassured him. ”It doesn’t matter to me if you’re a Gryffindor. We’re all going to the same school and we even came from the same school, it doesn’t matter what house we’re in.”

That was the only thing that bothered her about Hogwarts. The notion that the Houses were to compete against each other for points outside of Quidditch games was disappointing. She was under the impression that Hogwarts should have been more united in that notion after the school banded together to fight at the Battle at Hogwarts. Of course, she also understood it was tradition, and perhaps its intention may have started off as motivating the students to work harder for their Houses but the sense of division was unfortunate. 

If a Ravenclaw girl taking a Gryffindor boy to see a wonderful view was going to cost her points, so be it. “I can take you there right now if you don’t have anywhere else you need to be.”

Do you believe people from different houses or schools can truly love one another?

Of course! It's not different than meeting people outside of school, or outside of work like my parents did. Maybe I could find love myself and it doesn't matter what house or school. Anything's possible!

Henry smiled softly after the girl seemed to remember him. It was always awkward for him to start the conversation and often he waited until someone spoke to him first. And if someone didn’t recognize him right away? That was one of his worst fears. Granted, they had only been at Hogwarts a short while, but he was sure his name proceeded him especially as he walked these halls. 

He nodded softly. “Yeah and you’re Alice in Ravenclaw right?” He didn’t often forget a name or a face. “I know what you mean.. sorta. I used to go out and do a whole lot of writing in those gardens. Some of my best poems and stories came out of there. And here… it’s nice and all but I haven’t found the spot that inspires me yet I guess.” Henry shrugged as he admitted that. He missed writing and often wished he had more time to write.

Alice beamed at Henry remembering her as it was quite daunting for her to try to make new friends in a new school with several students who have already known each other and seem to be at ease with making new friends. Not that Alice did not have friends as she still had her cousin and maybe his friends that seemed to tolerate her but she was not one to socialize much. Coming from a family that did not see magic as a priority in her life made her question whether she truly belonged anywhere. However, it made her happy enough to learn that she was meant to learn magic and if she happened to fit in anywhere was of no real concern for her. Of course, getting to know fellow students would not hurt. 

She was grateful Henry decided to speak to her at last as he was the one of the very few students at Beauxbatons that had the imagination. She could not help but notice him when he would write in the gardens, curious of what he was writing. For someone as creative as Henry, she understood how important it was to find the right environment to spark creativity. All the placed she had already traveled sparked her imagination and it felt she had dozens of stories in her head from that experience.

“I haven’t been able to explore much of the grounds at Hogwarts just yet but I can show you some of my favorite places so far.” She offered with a grin. “There’s a tree I like visiting that has a wonderful view of the Great Lake. I can do some good reading... or a nap there.”
