All this Ayano content is making me remember a fanfic I read. Have you read Nightmares by Fearlessmayproceed? It’s one of my favourites to do with Ayano

ayano tateyama is a complex character with so much potential!! she carries a lot of weight and unspoken grief on her shoulders with a smile on her face, and i hope i’m able to portray that in my posts someday

your daily reminder that ayano tateyama is a teenage girl with her own dreams and ambitions and her “selfless” and “heroic” act was really just the desperate last resort of a girl who thought nothing of herself and her impact on others

a girl who thought her suicide would be nothing more than an annoyance to her own siblings

a girl who spent her final days alone scraping together what was left of her dead mother and possessed father, who she could no longer hug or talk or confide in

it was her death that jumpstarted the gathering of the mekakushi dan. her death that brought her adoration, admiration, and worship from the dan and fans. her death that impacted the characters to such a large degree that it both deconstructed and reconstructed their perceptions of themselves and others.

the girl herself didn’t matter at all.
