[[Really thought I ought to mention/remind that Echo/Terebi is mentally disabled SOOOOOoooo yeah- She HAS problems, she HAS symptoms, she ISN’t happy all the time. It’s not that she’s being a rude gal on purpose- she’s becoming paranoid so she’s trying to keep herself safe and mentally stable so she doesn’t end up being overwhelmed by her paranoia resulting from her AIW syndrome.

Thus her at the beach isn’t because i made her go to be an edge lord, heck no one really wanted to interact with her even WITH her head on. Aside from that, she copes with her disability by wearing that tv head. So any time she’s not wearing it, it’s like taking a risk to be ‘normal’ knowing fully well she, herself, is not ‘normal’/is ‘broken’. To be able to cope, the tv screen makes things ‘fit’ that nothing’s changing (ie: being in a long hallway and it starts looking like the hallway is stretching. The sun setting over the lake/ocean starts looking like it’s sinking in the water. Sitting on the ground where looking at it starts feeling like the ground is getting closer/rising)  plus, it’s not a mind game- symptoms also include headaches which can either be minor or major.

If it’s easier to understand than from the example, it’s like: ‘The mind thinks everything you see is moving like water/currents, unless it’s in a container.” The world through Echo’s eyes(and mentally too) are like water, her tv head is the container. At the beach, she ‘drew a safe spot’ for her to ‘contain’ her from spilling into a troubled mess.

As for her face- she’s afraid of what her face looks like, thus she’s a bit afraid of mirrors. By a ‘bit’ it’s that when she’s looking at herself without the TV, she thinks her body is changing just like the other examples. This her own self-image she developed of herself is simplified down to her being ‘broken’ for not being ‘normal’ like everyone else. And as stated before, she just wants to be accepted despite what restrains her. And yes, I’m well aware that she’s not doing a good job being social, she was never good in the first place until she got the help she needed.

So not really showing what problems she has that affects her life when she isn’t able to have something that helps her get through the day would make it seem really off, ooc, and poor characterization of her as a mentally disabled person (which is my own headcanons for her). Hmm that’s just how I feel- I’d rather be able to explain this disorder through my own research+discussions than to half-ass it with no research, no one to discuss/break it down with, and using it as some excuse/trend for some ‘trendy unique character’ fame attempt ffff]]
