Back in the days when the three pony tribes were not united, many ponies engaged in gladiator battles in back alley buildings, pitting top ponies of their town against champions.

Gladiator’s father was a gambler who always lost when betting on the pony who was in the ring, so when his son was born, he raised him to be a fighter. Gladiator was entered in many fights by his father, earning him many scars and injuries, however Gladiator was smaller and speedier than his opponents, often this advantage earned him victory.  But during one fight Gladiator’s opponent injured his leg beyond repair, but rather than give up, Gladiator sought someone to make him a prosthetic leg, using the riches he gained from previous fights he was able to afford one.

 It took a couple of weeks of getting used to the new leg, but soon Gladiator was able to go back to fighting, upon facing his opponent and winning, Gladiator gained his cutie mark, showing his dedication to fighting and having the strength to battle through anything
