Black Eagles name etymology:
A lot of the BE names seem to have Germanic or north/central European origins. This list also isn't exhaustive, so if you'd like to know even more I recommend looking them up for yourself
Note: Von means "of"
Edelgard Von Hresvelg-
Edelgard: "Noble protector"
Hresvelg: "Corpse Swallower", a jötun of Norse mythology who's responsible for the strong north winds, "[he] sits at heaven’s end, a giant, in the shape of an eagle; from his wings they say the wind comes over all people."
Hubert Von Vestra-
Hubert: "Bright heart/mind"
Vestra: "your" in Latin, originally Bestla, Odin's mother in Norse mythology
(that means Hubert's name means "Bright heart/mind of yours" and I just 🥺)
