Galekh remained a solid figure for her to lean and cling onto. He listened to the sobs leave her mouth and felt her body rattle with each one like a shaky house blown by a strong breeze.
He sighs calmly, just letting her, he already said what she needed to hear and did what she needed for comfort. All that was left was for her to let it all out like a broken dam. When it was finally all done, he loosely wrapped her arms around her shoulders and merely stood, just letting her hold onto him.
He froze, then, at the chatter of trolls outside and the world came rushing back. He was acutely aware of his surroundings again. He slowly steps away from Wyllow’s arms and he clenches his jaw ashamedly. “I have to leave, darling.” He says in a soft voice. “I need to. I’m sorry I’ll,” he looks around for something, and then removes the silvery clasp from his cloak. It’s a pin, and he places it in her palm. “I need to come back for that, it offers me a thin veil of protection from other trolls. So you can expect me back. You have my word.”
He pulls his hood over his head again, and steps back. He leans down and kisses the top of her head, before straightening up again, pulling the cloak closed over his figure, and then swiftly leaving.
By the time Wyllow would check outside, he was gone. Just like a ghost.
Her grip on him immediately loosened as he stepped back, watching him both in concern and slight curiosity. She couldn’t get a word out with how hectic he was speaking but, she almost didn’t need to. The pin was placed in her palm. The kiss was placed on her head. And as she quickly turned around in alarm to ask him why he was leaving so quick, he was gone. She stood in the middle of her quiet teahouse, staring out the french windows and glass door for any sign of him.
Wyllow glanced down at the pin in her hand, letting out a soft trill as she ran a finger along its edges. ‘You have my word,’ he said. She picked the indigo bookbag back up, placing the pin inside. No sound of shuffling feet or anything moving. Anaisa must’ve snuck out while they were in their moment. She dug her keys out of her bag and locked up the shop as she left for home.
She felt lighter. Better. Not quite her usual best, but getting there.

And there it was. The moment she was nudged into him. The shooshes and paps. The world fell away and so did she. She let her most coveted possession drop from her claws so she could cling to the only troll that truly mattered to her. Ugly sobs wracked her body, muffled by the large indigo’s shirt, a sweep of pent up anger, frustration, and negativity finally free to crash out like a tidal wave. She had a long mental recovery ahead of her, but for once she felt safe.
For once she felt secure.
She couldn’t say it. Not with each breath releasing a piece of emotional toxin from her body. But she loved him too. She missed him dearly. She hoped to whatever deity existed that she was showing it because right now she couldn’t get her vocal chords working right.
It took a good few minutes before she finally cried herself out, now both looking and feeling exhausted to hell. She let out small trills, a cheek pressed to his abdomin as she wasn’t quite ready to separate the physical contact. She felt small. She liked feeling small. It made her feel that much secure.
Galekh remained a solid figure for her to lean and cling onto. He listened to the sobs leave her mouth and felt her body rattle with each one like a shaky house blown by a strong breeze.

She seemed to almost want to stop herself, but she leaned into the touches with a small sniffle, tear ducts already reloaded and waiting to spill out. He was right, it hurt. She felt like she didn’t deserve any of it. Her wounds were still a tad fresh and it showed. SHe had never cried this much, this hard before. She felt light-headed. “My head hurts…” she whimpered, trying to hold herself together, practically clinging to the bright indigo bookbag, as his words sank in.
She was a mess. But then again, who wasn’t in Alternia’s fucked up way of life. She wanted to crawl into his arms. She wanted to walk home. She wanted to just sit in the teahouse. She wanted to take a bomb and just blow up the entire planet and whatever cruel being made them the way they were.
She wanted her moirail, more than she wanted anyone ever…
A small ‘shhh’ leaves the indigo as he continues wiping away her tears. He can’t help it, he really can’t. When she mentions her head, he places his large hand over her crown and pulls her into his stomach, and runs his fingers through her hair slowly and soothingly.
“It’s okay,” Galekh says in a patient, understanding voice. “It’s okay, Wyllow. I’ve got you.”
His hand slips down, to rub her back in rhythmic motions, to coax the rest of her tears and sobs out of her. It’s almost like the rest of the world has turned to melodic static, like he hadn’t been on the run for almost a sweep. Like he wasn’t an enemy of the empire. Right then, this was just another feelings jam with his moirail, like so long ago.
“I’ve-... I love you.”
just-more-trolls:
Wyllow clenched her fists, knuckles turning a pale green almost white before..
“I didn’t know what I wanted okay??” her voice cracked from the rise in octave, a voice not used to being louder than a hummingbird’s wingflap. “So I was..enveloped by the allure of fucking..clown makeup. So I was..nearly killed by the allure I just..” she had to pause to keep her breathing even. There were many things she expected to face. This wasn’t one of them. She then paused, staring up at him blankly. That hurt. She’d have a talk with Anaisa later but..her voice dropped back to a whisper.
“I thought you were dead. I ran to your hive just to see it reduced to rubble and slag. I fucking killed that gods-be-damned purple before he could finish me off and I’ve been wracked with guilt and grief and anger since. So I unloaded on a friend before I lashed out.. Maybe I should’ve just lashed out..” she quieted down, unable to look up at Galekh again. She almost wanted to be angry with him. TO lash out. But she was angry at herself. Ashamed of herself. Galekh did nothing wrong and she..she made many..many bad mistakes. She wanted to cry but her tear ducts had dried up. She just felt numb.. That was a new feeling for her.
“…I’ve hated myself since..felt like a piece was missing- no-..stripped away..I don’t..expect any sort of forgiveness or..anything..” she mumbled, wrapping her arms around herself.
Galekh almost wants to say something about the clown make-up remark, but he keeps his mouth shut as he listens to Wyllow’s rant.
His deep blue eyes soften when she says that she thought he was dead. Of course she did. He vanished, and his lusus (there was a pang of guilt at the thought of his lusus) was culled. So of course she thought he was dead. He’ll be honest, he doesn’t exactly understand everything after that, but he has a feeling he doesn’t need to.
“Hate is a strong word, my dear,” he says in a calm voice. “You yourself are complete without me. It hurts, but I do not make you a whole person. I just--” he swipes his thumb over her cheek to wipe away the olive tears “--enrich your life. Just like you enriched mine.”
He brushes his fingers over her other cheek, wiping away the other tears. “You’re right, I don’t. I don’t have to forgive you. And I’m not, it hurt, it really, truly did. But I accept your apology, I honor it, I... cherish it. Just like I cherish you, and I cherish our relationship.”
just-more-trolls:
Wyllow winced as she let go due to being pried off, her glasses sitting lopsided on her face. Her sobs had quieted as she tried to find the words. She was admittedly very stupid in that regard. She left Galekh to pursue someone who was hurting. It was barely a sweep ago. She just wanted to..
“they were..hurting i..i thought i could help..I…fell right into…a trap..” she murmured, shakily rubbing an arm. She didn’t dare look up at Galekh, feeling more like a scolded wriggler than anything. Her shoulders were slumped, guilt and regret resting heavily with them. Clowns…Why were clowns such a weakness.. Always fucking clowns..
Galekh can’t help it. A hand floats upwards to gently adjust her glasses so that they rested on her face properly. He swallows as he listens to her response and looks away sharply, clearly not satisfied for the answer.
“I don’t get it,” he says. “I can’t understand, was I just? Not good enough? What could have possibly been so, erm, irresistible about them that made you think ‘hm, I don’t think it’s worth staying with Galekh’ and then furthermore made you pursue what ultimately ended up being temporary feelings?
“And now you’re back and seeking comfort from me? Like you’re going to cry and apologise to me and say ‘they were hurting I thought I could help’ and everything would be okay? I needed help. You know what I heard before I ran into you? That what’s-her-face had a feelings jam with you. Do you know how that hurts me?”
“...”
“Of course you do... of course you know... you were my moirail.”
just-more-trolls:
Wyllow’s eyes widened. When she had heard a drone strike was ordered at the neighborhood Galekh lived in, she damn-near feared the worst. And here he was, alive as ever..even buffer. Even with the slight changes and her vision beginning to blur with welling tears, she could tell that was Galekh.
Her Galekh.
Shakily, she hesitated to reach out. Once her fingers touched something tangible; the cloth of his cloak, the floodgates open as hot olive tears began spilling down her cheeks. She practically clung to the indigo’s form, her body shaking with each sobbed out ‘I’m sorry’. She was relieved, guilt-ridden, and completely overwhelmed. She also smelled like she fell face-first into a bed of lavenders..
“...!”
Galekh’s hands hesitantly wrap around Wyllow’s smaller frame, giving her a gentle hug that he was all too compelled to give as pale feelings dictate. However, as she sobs her apologies and her tears soak through his black dress shirt, he finds himself feeling rather numb as he stares ahead for a moment.
“You... left me. You left me because you wanted someone else in your pale quadrant,” he firmly reminds her, setting his hands upon her shoulders and prying her from his form. He wants an answer. An explanation. He wasn’t just going to let himself get walked over, not again.
just-more-trolls:
Wyllow had come back to grab something, still adamant on not speaking to Anaisa, only to pause when she saw a cloaked figure turn around to leave. She stared up at the imposing figure, her cheeks flush with olive and tears still stinging the corners of her eyes. She didn’t recognize him at first on account of him being cloaked..and not looking at the sign at first.
“..hello..?”
Galekh stops, blinking slowly as he processed the familiar voice he hadn’t heard for months. He clenches and unclenches his jaw for a moment, before he hesitantly removes his hood.
Underneath it his hair had grown long but retained the soft curls he was known for. It was tied off at his shoulder in a loose ponytail. There was a scar across the bridge of his nose and one clipped on the corner of his bottom lip. He eyes her up and down, noting that not a thing about her had changed.
He puts on a nervous smile. “Hello... ...? Hi, yes, greetings, ahem.”
“Hello, Wyllow.”
just-more-trolls:
Anaisa was sllooooowwwlly inching her way towards the backroom, slowly looking less like a threat and more like a trapped animal. She kept her needles pointed straight at him the whole time.
“Ye-..Yeaa..?” she exhaled, her voice a slight quiver. “Look if you’re..looking for her..she raan home..upset..becaause she’s still paale for you..aand I faailed aat maaking her feel better..!” She quickly dove into the backroom, unable to stay under that unwavering gaze any longer.
Galekh watches as she backs away, and doesn’t pursue or allow himself to feel threatened by the knitting needles in her hands. He blinks, appearing rather jaded at her nervous antics.
And then she’s gone, zipping into the comfort of another room.
“That’s rather rude, you know!” Galekh calls after her. “Saying that you did something pale with my ex-palemate! Right in front of me!” He sighs and folds his arms. It’s been too long, and he supposes he’ll have to get going soon, he can’t exactly go to Wyllow’s hive, and he can’t stay here... so he muses it’s time he leaves and goes home.
He turns, his cloak whipping behind him, and he approaches the door to open it and leave.
just-more-trolls:
The mere moment Anaisa heard the sound of an arrow, the second knitting needle came into view, her posture moved back into the defensive. Her arms were shaking just a bit.
“Eeeeaaasy..” she bleated. “I’ve..uh…r-..raan from indigos much scaarier thaan you..”
She practically stared holes into the much taller individual. Her posture said ‘DEFEND’ but her eyes said ‘please don’t kill me.’ “My close friend is..aah.. your former moiraail..”
Galekh is unflinching. He’s an imposing figure, tall and broad, and the glimpse Anaisa would have gotten before his cloak fell back into place, he was all muscle. In fact, Wyllow might even remember him being smaller before, less ripped. “It’s not my intention to be intimidating, trust me, I can be much more terrifying if you give me the chance.” His words are soft and patience, despite the menace behind them.
He listens to her words and his eyes widen upon hearing the words former moirail. “Oh! ... Wyllow?” It’s a dumb question. Wyllow was his first palemate, his first and his last as of right now.
just-more-trolls:
Upon the sight of the sign Anaisa whipped out one of her very pointy, very dangerous-looking knitting needles out of pure instinct. She recognized that as a Sagi-sign. It was only pointed at the cloaked figure for a brief moment before recognition flashed in those totally-olive-not-lime eyes, and she pulled the weapon away in surprise.
“You’re…..Gaalekh..?” she both asked and stated, head giving a slight tilt as she kept her eyes trained on him. She was definitely someone who was constantly wary of highbloods.
Galekh reacts immediately, his hand whipping to his side. There’s the all too familiar sound of an arrow scraping the inside of a quiver as pulls one out, but he doesn’t remove the bow strapped to his waist, apparently ready to just shove the arrow into whatever the head meets first when she stops.
He remains in a defensive stance, watching her with a weariness that was beyond any normal indigo. He hesitantly lowered the arrow, tucking it back into his quiver and letting his cloak disguise it once again. “How do you know my name?” He questions quietly.
x - @just-more-trolls
“It’s possible,” he assures calmly. At his neck, there’s a clip that fastens his cloak together, in the shape of his sign. However, it lacks the indigo colour that it retains on Wyllow’s bag. “I was... directed here, and though I have no interest staying I figured I ought to check the place out before moving on.”
This the upper half of his face is shrouded in shadow, there is a smile on the lower half of his face.
Eh it's for the best anyway,,, The cause is the most important now, brother.
[For the first time since his reappearance, a smile lightens up his usually severe expression, and he almost looks like the man he was before he vanished.]
Thank you for understanding.
{ so }
Then do something about it scrub! Or continue to sit there simpering! >:V
I admire you for the shred of hope you have, but this is just the way things are on Alternia. You hide or you get culled. There are too many trolls stronger than us, there are too many drones. Stopping one means nothing. Stopping two? An admirable feat, but it still. Means. Nothing.
This is the bleak reality of it all. “Even the smallest of things can make a huge difference” is a lie [1]. My smallest thing got my matesprite culled. I’m likely to live longer and fight another day like this [2].
[1] Though some of us are going out and fucking with minor things. Luxuries that give the highbloods and drones a headache, but… most of them do not come back.[2] Granted something like a natural disaster comes through and hands the rebellion to our hands.
WHat kind of indigo are you?? I've seen a cerulean and a little alien dude take down a drone and you're hiding like a gotdam lowblood >:V
I have numerous problems with this message. For one, never use the term “lowblood” as an insult to me again, because you’re implying that lowbloods are lesser than me when that is not the case. For two, that seems highly unlikely, and I refuse to believe it because even fuchsias are afraid of the drones, and why would they need to fear them if they’re the “highest” on the “spectrum”.
You in particular sicken me.
