I still have not given up, but due to life stuff, I’ve just been unable to find the motivation to focus on Glasses. I would like to go back and revamp whats already out, so I think what I’m going to try to do is actually just finish writing glasses before I post any chapters, update the ones already up, and then post the whole remastered thing on a weekly basis until it’s finished, so I don’t keep disappearing and getting frustrated. That means it could take a little longer than expected, but it would also mean it was definitely finished and getting posted! Whether or not I’ll stick to this plan, I’m not certain, but I have still been working on it in smaller ways, in the meantime.

So, Glasses is what, about two years old now? I really fell off the wagon as far as updating the fic and managing this blog last year. I still love the story, and I genuinely want to finish it. But I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock in my life.
I’ve been really struggling with my art, and feelings of frustration, and for whatever reason, I’ve been really struggling with the attention span to sit down and actually write anything full stop. I’ve been off and on in a bad place mentally, and it’s gotten a bit worse the past few months. I posted this back in December and managed to put up one new chapter since then, despite making the personal goal to update once a month. I wish I had a better answer honestly, nothing bad’s really happened in my life, it’s just all. Mental. My therapist hasn’t been able to see me for almost two months now, which is...definitely not helping. But I got my first shot last month, and my next one is scheduled for early June. Once that’s all incorporated in my system, I’m going to schedule a few doctors appointments for mild physical stuff and a proper adhd test. I’m hoping once I get the results for that, I’ll be able to start trying some new medications, because none of the antidepressants I’ve been on in the past have really helped, and I’ve more or less run out of options.
I think, more than anything, it’s just a lack of motivation. I wanna get that excitement back, I want to enjoy my hobbies again, and I honestly feel like the quality is better when I’m having fun and not stressing out, rereading or redrawing a dozen times because I feel like it’s just not good enough.
Whenever I get notifications on this blog or on the fic, it’s honestly so touching. Even with as inactive as I’ve been, the fact people are still finding, or rereading, and enjoying this content means a lot to me. And it means a lot whenever I get messages checking in with me. The Undertale fandom has been like a warm blanket in a very cold time of my life, and it’s so incredibly appreciated. I haven’t given up on Glasses, it’s all just a matter of. Working back into it, even if it’s only a little bit at a time.

[Yes yes yes!! It’s always okay!
The surface life is treating Alphys and Undyne quite well!! Alphys is working with the Ebott scientific community to help bridge the gaps between human and monster technologies, and Undyne is working as a personal trainer for both monsters and humans alike! She also part times as one of the body guards who travels with the ambassadors on occasion!
Monsters have different ways of celebrating and honoring relationships, so they are married, though they haven’t had a human style wedding! Mettaton wants them to, though hekfhakdak
Alphys has also branched out into original fiction romance works in her free time! And Undyne is planning on applying for the job of school gym teacher at the school Toriel plans to open once she’s graduated!
As for social lives, Alphys is still more of a home body, but Mettaton and a couple of humans she’s befriended from work come over sometimes for anime nights! And of course they still have movie nights with the fam, too! Undyne still regularly visits Asgore for tea, and though her relationship with Toriel’s a bit tense, Frisk is bridging the gaps between the three very well!

I’ve actually been very unproductive lately, and have taken an accidental hiatus from most of my blogs. I’ve been struggling to write and draw for a couple of months now, but I’m trying to get back into the swing of things with whumptober!
As for Glasses, I do actually have the majority of the next chapter finished, I just have to tweak it a bit and....add a beginning! I have bits and pieces written for chapters after that, it’s all just a matter of finding the motivation!! Somewhere....! But rest assured, I am still trying!!! And thank you for your lovely words! There will be drawing and chatting and chilling, and I’ve invited a few friends to stop by and potentially stream their art, too! I might also play some Deltarune because, well, why the heck not??
