An Awesome Wave
So I just listened to An Awesome Wave by alt-J. Man, what a beautiful piece of music. I think it’s joined Lonerism and Transcendental Youth as one of my albums of the year (I do not think I could bring myself to pick from these three). Anyone else listen to it? Thoughts?
john darnielle should write a book, don't you think?
Yes, and I would read the hell out of it. Darnielle would make a very good author, I think, and it's because his lyricism is so literary in nature. Darnielle is probably my favorite lyricist precisely because of that, he focuses not on images or the explicit expression of emotion but on scenes and characters. And maybe it's my bias towards authors and literature, but I feel that story-telling is the most consistently effective, if difficult, way of expressing and discussing emotion.
Really, Darnielle the author wouldn't require much of a leap from Darnielle the lyricist, his music is already essentially there. And that's just wonderful.
John Darnielle is my waifu.

Sorry, what was the question?
It's the end of an era here at Ask Gopher.
FUCK ITALY

الله أكبر.
Also, we have to write a script for a scene from 'our imagination' for Art of the Film (which is a fantastic class btw), so I'm writing one based off of The Good Doctor. It's going to be so great.
You should post that here, or at the very least send it to me when you're done. That sounds amazing.

There, that should be better. Also, more generally referring to the other maps, in case you can't read them clearly, here are the cities which I have given tenuous, subject-to-change, places on the map. Laiira, the largest city of the northern forests of Airistrir. Aeir, the southern city and center of trade of Airistrir. Hub, the largest city in Balugichan and center of the Hub culture. City of Cities, which I have not yet translated into their language (first draft says Du is city, but I don't have an "of" or a pluralization yet), which is the capital of the great and fragmented Nation of Nations (again, no language). Xoloplatollec, the capital of the Zaropotec empire. And finally Shado, the seat of the universal empire spiritual capital of the hermit kingdom of the southern islands.
