We had the best snow day!

Seb and I spent all day at home yesterday. We took Lilly outside to play in the snow and she absolutely loved it.

It was nice to take a day off and just relax and be stuck inside. I think we really needed it!

We have been so busy getting things ready for the baby and going to doctor appointments with our surrogate and applying to grad school that we have hardly had any free moments!

How was your Christmas?

It was great! We were in Ohio and got to spend it with our families.

After the news we got today, I couldn't have asked for a better holiday!

What did you do when you found out your surrogate was pregnant?

I immediately started crying and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Seb and I are so lucky. Some couples have to go through hell to get to this point and it only took us a few months.

We're beyond blessed.

Did you and Sebastian celebrate being pregnant?

We cried and hugged for about an hour straight! Then we called our parents and told them the good news.

We are going to celebrate with our friends tomorrow at our New Year's party!

Jeff and I have some news...

We are OFFICIALLY expecting our first child! Our surrogate is pregnant and we could not be happier, Jeff and I can’t wait to be parents!

We got the news earlier today — this is the best late Christmas present we could have asked for!

This was all I wanted for Christmas! We are so happy!

You can afford to adopt. You are selfish for wanting to find a surrogate and have a child that is yours instead of adopting a child who is already alive and needs a home.

Maybe we are selfish. We aren't against adopting and we hope to do that someday. I know that there are thousands of children all over the world that need a home and hopefully someday we can offer our home to one or two of them.

Maybe I am selfish for wanting a child that shares my DNA but I'm ok with that.

What steps do you have to take to have a child?

Right now, we are trying to find a proper surrogate. We have an egg donor and we keep interviewing surrogates but we haven't found the right one. We feel like we are getting close though. We have a few meetings scheduled next week!

Where are you and Sebastian at?

We are at home now! My brothers are here and my parents are out on the town being tourists.

How did you guys celebrate Jeff's birthday?

On Thursday Jeff and I went to Boston for the night to celebrate his birthday — it was really romantic and just the two of us. Friday we came back to New York and had a huge party with everyone, his brothers flew in for that too. Saturday his mom and dad flew in and they’re still here, we all went out to a show and then dinner to celebrate Jeff’s birthday — it’s been really great! I hope Jeff has been enjoying it!

Not today, no...

There is a chance that another day this weekend I was feeling a bit hungover though...

If Sebastian decided to run for office, how would you handle that?

I would support him completely. It's something we talk about from time to time. If Seb made that his goal, I would do whatever I could to help him achieve that.
