So, Eridan in Aquariumstuck is a pout pout fish, we all know this. But, if Eridan is a pout pout, then why is it that Cronus and Dualscar are both scary manta ray looking guys? If you think about it, it doesn’t make all that much sense that the three are related due to the fact that while Cronus and Dualscar are manta rays, Eridan is not. My theory is that Eridan was probably taken in by the two. We all know how Dualscar also goes by the name ‘Orphaner’, so what if those traits also applied to him in Aquariumstuck. In the ocean, you need to eat to survive, for Dualscar and Cronus, this was no exception. My theory behind why Eridan is so close to them is that Eridan was taken in at a young age when he was still small enough to not remember what really happened. So, imagine this, Dualscar and Cronus are both carnivores, meaning they need to eat other smaller fish and whatever prey they can find. One day, they come across a ship wreck, and of course they search it for food only to come across two, highly aggressive, somewhat large fish that seem to be protecting something. Dualscar and Cronus, being the underwater predators they are, kill the fish for food. Afterwards, they discover something, a small fish. The smaller fish was the spawn of the two larger fish. Dualscar and Cronus would try to kill the small, innocent, and young defenseless fish, but to no avail. They can’t bring themselves to kill it or leave it, so instead they take the little guy in and treat him as their own. To make him feel like he belonged more they gave him a cape as a sort of way of saying 'Hey, your'e one of us, now you have the fins to be one of us too.’ They would also swim slow most of the time so Eridan could keep up, seeing that he was smaller and slower compared to the two larger manta rays. Dualscar and Cronus still haven’t told Eridan the truth about him and what happened, they plan on telling him once he starts to recognize that he isn’t quite the same species. For now, though, Dualscar and Cronus plan on being the role of the father and brother Eridan never had in an attempt to raise him as happy as can be.
