the state of this blog

((hi yall so as you know this blog has had a sporadic upate schedule since 2018. over two years. i keep trying to raise it from the dead, but it doesn’t work

so i’ve decided to face the facts -- from here on out, the blog will no longer update. it had a good run but it’s time. it never had a formal plot anyway, so little is being missed

i still like the characters and doodle them from time to time! perhaps oneday i will use some of them again who knows. but this blog in its current format is over.

i’ll keep it up for posterity for now tho. ty for following it. ))

“And it happened twice! I do not understand!” Quill waved his hand about wildly to add emphasis to his confusion.

“Yeah, it definitely seems... awkward,” Flavian said. “Who could they be mistaking you for? I’ve heard of no one like that!”

“Maybe they’re seeing things?” Sophie piped up. “I dunno, trick of the light or something.”

“Light doesn’t eat vegetables though...” Flavian rubbed his chin. “And it happened twice,”

“Well, there’s only one explanation,” Rowan mumbled through a mouthful of cheesepuffs. After finishing what was in her mouth, she held up a finger. “Quill has a doppelganger!”

The other Pokemon all stared at her for a moment.

“I...” Quill was unsure.”

For yet another moment, all was silent. And the Flavian spoke again.

“I almost hate to say it, but that’s actually a plausible theory,” he said.

Rowan seemed proud of herself. But Quill still didn’t know what to think. Seriously? A doppelganger? Of him?

Some time later...

“Dad, look!” Quill heard the voice of a young boy behind him; said child began to excitedly tug on his father’s hand and continue to point at Quill. “Look at that Gothitelle! I think that’s who I saw last night!”

“Don’t point, son. It’s rude,” his father said.

“Oh, sorry,” the child sheepishly lowered his hand, before looking at Quill again. “You were flying around last night, right? You Psychic types are so lucky. I wish I could fly like that. And you don’t even need wings!”

Quill was taken aback. “Er, no?” he said. “I was home all night. Not did once did I move off the couch! Haha...”

“Oh,” the boy looked disappointed. “Guess it was someone else then.”

This was the second time today Quill was mistaken for someone else, and once again, it was last night. What was going on?

Quill turned around to face a vexed looking Butterfree. Well, maybe he was vexed. He wasn’t sure. He had sunglasses after all ... not unlike Quill’s visor.

“Is everything all right, Mr. Butterfree?” Quill cocked his head to the side.

“That depends,” the Butterfree said. “Where were ya last night? Cause it so happens you look an awful lot like the screwball I found in my garden eating all my tomato berries last night.” he huffed. “My poor, poor berries...”

... What?

Last night, Quill had parked himself on the couch with Scarlett, where they had binged a bunch of old movies. Why would he be sneaking out to ransack some random man’s garden?

“I was home watching movies!” Quill said. “I can remember no instance of eating someone’s vegetables. I believe you may have the wrong Pokemon, sir.”

The Butterfree placed both of his hands on his hips. “’Zat so?”

“It is. I can vouch for him”.

Scarlett appeared. What timing.

“We didn’t leave once last night,” she said. “It’s a little rude to accuse a stranger of digging through your things like some sort of weirdo, isn’t it?”

The Butterfree looked thoughtful for a moment. “Mmm, maybe,” he said. “In any case, I’ll take yer word for it. But I’ll find the culprit yet.” and he left.

Quill sighed. “What in the world was that?”

“At least he wasn’t too persistent,” Scarlett shrugged. “It’s unfortunate to hear someone tore up his berry plants though...”

“What?”

“I can’t sleep. I think there’s something weird outside.”

“Really? I don’t see anything. Your imagination’s probably running wild again. Get back to bed, sport.”
