Children find their way to my world and I couldn’t just let them wander aimlessly! I raise them myself. I’ve raised many a cosmoem, and many Earthian pokemon as well!

Nowadays this dimension is populated enough that there are mons that adopt children that fall in. But I do enjoy raising a little one every few decades or so. My Cerberus was also in a sense raised as my son!
Right now, I’m taking care of Eek and Phi. They’re probably running around, maybe messing with Cerberus or playing with some of the cosmoem.
I’ve never had children of my own, but that’s fine!

My first Gatekeeper is where you’ve probably gotten the legends about a “three-headed beast” and the sort. Though, like all my previous gatekeepers, they decided to go through the quest gate to earn their way back to the world of the living. And they did. After that, Cerberus became a title for all gatekeepers after that in honor of the first one.
As for my current Cerberus’ real name? He went by XD:0021 in life, and got a new name when he came here.

I didn’t know at the time but Eterna has a dimensional ripple in it, like other places in Sinnoh, and Harry liked to observe the world from them. So when he saw me in danger he swooped in.
Took me a bit to realize he was rescuing me.

The place was cool though, so I stick around for a little to explore. Little Harry was afraid to reveal who he really was because he thought he’d scare me but I had a feeling what he was before he told me.
Loki@Harry: So, what exactly is the process for you to purify a shadow Pokemon? I can't imagine that it would be simple to undo years of hate, festering in one's heart and soul. Are there hearts so deeply corrupted that trying to purify them would result in danger to either yourself or the shadow Pokemon? What happens to all of that negative energy once it's removed, anyway?
I can alter reality however I want in my realm, and that includes anyone here. For example, sometimes Polly asks me to turn her into a mega sceptile, or even a rayquaza. It’s no illusion, I can alter space and time harmlessly as long as I’m in my domain.
However, I’ve found purification is best done organically rather than with my abilities. There’s a lot of mental strain and potential mental illness that comes from being a shadow, since it’s triggered through extreme stress. Primarily there are social communication and empathy issues, even PTSD. I’ve found the best method is to support and console the pokemon so they can learn to cope and function better on their own, and then purify them artificially of the remaining ‘energies’ as you call it. It’s an injected chemical that inhibits certain behaviors and exaggerates others, and occasionally changes the color of the pokemon, hence ‘shadow pokemon’. Removing it at the end of the process leads to a better transition to a functional life.
The reason my current Cerberus isn’t fully purified is because he chooses to remain a shadow pokemon and keep the substance in his body. We’ve talked about it many times and I respect his choice and I don’t think anything less of him.
You can ask him if you want! I would love to answer but it’s best if you get it straight from him. He should be back at the Questgate guarding it as usual or doing rounds in the lower circles.

Sorry, but I know little about maturing giratina. They tend to ah, manifest in their adult form. I did. Makes sense given I was born from an object that’s incredibly old.
I know a few giratina in infancy, maybe asking their caretakers could help?
As for diet, we don’t need to eat, but we can choose to. We exist as long as our world does, and for me, as long as the black hole this dimension is rooted to remains in existence.

Once an object passes the event horizon of a black hole, there’s no escaping it. Not even light is free from it’s gravitational pull.
There are a few ways this could happen but, the most common cause is..
Evolution creates a peculiar energy, one that’s experienced by pokemon and a specific species of ultra beast once, maybe twice a life-time. In the same way a supernova is as bright as an entire galaxy’s worth of light, so is an evolution filled with enough energy to last a lifetime. But what can this energy do if the pokemon is dead? The energy has to go somewhere, yet there’s no where to go. It keeps the pokemon alive, yet it’s dead. It’s both alive and dead. Therefore, a paradox. And a paradox is deadly to the fabric of reality. Arceus didn’t create this place. Rather, the collapsing of a star created this alternate world. A black hole is the ultimate warping of reality, the ultimate destruction of space and time. It’s not so hard to hypothesize further and say that another universe or dimension could come into existence at the singularity of a black hole.
When this world came into being from our collapsing host star, one big enough to become a quasar, I was born as well. There are many other realities where giratina reside. I’ve met a handful of them thus far, and it seems we are birthed with these other worlds spontaneously. Despite that, Arceus has shaped this particular one into a sanctuary for those who are, in simple terms, in limbo.
This is a place where Reality does not exist. A place where paradoxes can flourish. Otherwise.. they would continue to exist in excruciating pain in the Plane of Reality, while also causing damage to the area around them due to their paradoxical nature.
This place is quite exactly what a singularity is.
In simple terms, there’s no leaving the Plane of Abstraction once you’re drawn in. Souls that aren’t half-alive have no fear of being trapped. Should they visit, like Polly, they can come and go as they please. While I came into being here, I can leave when I wish.
I unfortunately can’t change this for my subjects. The only way one can escape to their past Reality is if they pass a trial to obtain the rest of their life force. It is the only written rule of this Plane, because despite the destruction of Reality here, the singularity must remain constant. Otherwise, it is not a singularity. You cannot escape unless you longer attribute to what the singularity draws in: half-alive souls. And it is a rule I hate...
Many many of my subjects have died in the trial attempting to regain their life force. So I wipe their memory to protect them from the sadness of knowing what they can’t go back to..
It’s.. not so bad here. There’s several hundred thousand souls here, and there’s cities and villages all over! And I can warp whatever I want to make this place look as homely as possible..

Loki@Cerberus: You know, your tone of speech sounds very familiar. I know a Noivern that speaks like you do. Is that part of being tied Lord or Lady? Do they expect you to always sound so official and formal? Or is that something you just began to do once you swore fealty to them?
My recovery from the process of becoming a pure shadow pokemon was.. what do they say, “case by case”? Shadow pokemon are adapted to following a rigid system, it’s an irreversible factor to our creation. So a more formal manner of speaking felt more comfortable and easy for me. I can’t say the same for other shadow pokemon.
It also comes in handy when conversing in political meetings.
