Benjamin sat at the bar working on his fourth beer of the evening, usually he would pace himself, though it didn’t matter tonight. He was going home to an empty apartment. The male knew the woman he’d hoped to be his fiance by now is doing the right thing by leaving down. As her baby bump was starting to show with every passing day and proving that Devils can be ruthless with blowing up Sugar Rub and firing shots in a public event. Ben couldn’t risk it anymore. He begged her and sure they fought about it all night, but eventually, she agreed with him and packed a couple bags and left to stay with a sibling out of state. Despite it being for the better, he hated not having her by his side. This will be the first time they ever attempt at long-distance since they started dating many years ago. It’s safe to say, he wasn’t taking the first night very well. As he poured the last sip from his alcoholic beverage, but put the glass down and sighed. “Another.”

“Don’t take this the wrong way,” Danielle retorts, appearing beside the male. “--But you kinda look like shit.” A soft chuckle can be heard as she picks the stool beside him, sliding onto it before waving to Payton. “Whatever he’s having, but on my tab, please.” It came as no surprise that Benjamin was feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders. With Emmaline out of town, it seemed the male was left with no choice but to manage on alone for now. It was a sad fact, but Danielle truly respected him for making the sacrifice. “Wanna talk, I’m told I’m a good listener?”

Teddy hadn’t expected it Danielle to linger after he had offered his plan, so he turned to look at her. He was about to say something until he was caught off guard by Dani’s next move. They had kept everything a secret; kept their whole relationship casual and somewhat free of emotion. However as soon as her lips touched his, Teddy knew. He knew on some level his feeling’s he was trying to deal with were being reciprocated. The guy who always had a smart ass comment to say was left speechless by the woman in front of him. Instead he just gave her a half smile and kissed her quickly again. Letting her know he wasn’t gonna let her be the only one admitting to something during all of this. “ Please be careful” He responded as he nodded to give her to go ahead and that he’d keep an eye on her as she moved. If anyone popped out he’d be on them in a second. He wasn’t out to lose Dani at all. Not when this had just happened. 

A small part of her didn't want to drift too far from the male, but she knew they both had a job to do. Which meant it was time to step into action as each step led her closer to the scene, gaze trailing about features as she caught sight of a few guns. Without wondering whose side they might've come from, Danielle quickly began gathering them. Pocketing them into her purse as she nodded towards a few others. Most were being cleared out now thankfully, and when Payton yelled for her to check the furthest side, she wasted no time in picking up the pace. Only once she was sure the area was cleared, and the distant sound of sirens was piercing the air did she look back for Teddy. "We should head for Ignition," All had been called there, which meant those injured would be seeking help there as well. "--did you want to go together or should we?" The lingering kiss remained at the forefront of her mind, as she carefully placed her gun back in the holster clasped around her thigh.

A long time ago, it was easier for Teddy to just do the work and not have emotional connections to anything. It wasn’t just his feelings for Dani that had affected and changed him, but how he felt for the entirety of the Royals. They were family ans as soon as he heard their own had been hurt, Teddy realized how focused he was on the situation. Only now there was an emotional connection he never had felt growing up. He glanced back at Dani for a moment, trying to keep note of how close the gun shots were. “ I’ll cover you. Go to them. I’m sure they need help” Teddy replied looking around, he was gonna follow her, but he didn’t want her to get hurt on the way over. They needed to secure the area and make sure none of them got hurt or had any evidence left behind. “ I’ll be there in a second” 

Nodding her head just once, Danielle moved to take the side route towards the balcony. But not before her steps stalled, and she glanced once back towards Teddy. Catching his eye, the woman exhaled before closing the distance, a kiss being placed against his lips. If they were going to die tonight, and these were her last few moments, she wouldn't do so with an ounce of regret. "It's you," She whispered quietly, not caring who might've seen them before taking off in the direction of the balcony. The gun being held tightly towards her side as she eyed her fellow Royals, and a few other familiar faces. If she could just make it towards them, she could start cleaning the scene, so by the time the cops arrived, they'd all be protected.

As soon as the first shots rang out, Teddy had been on high alert. He should have been paying closer attention to everything, but it didn’t matter how good at your job you were when something like that happened. The debt collector pulled out his gun as soon as he heard the first shot, putting his form in front of her to shield any bullets as he looked for a place to move out of the line of fire.  He knew she was more than capable of handling herself but it was as if his instincts were telling him to keep her safe from harm no matter what. “Dani I need your eyes, do you see anywhere to move?” He replied glancing only briefly back at his date. As soon as his gaze fell on her even for the tiniest of moments he realized how in deep he was with her. He had fallen hard for her and he was gonna try to keep an eye on her and handle the situation. “ What do you see?”  He needed to know who was firing their way, who was hurt and how many people were still trying to fight this out.

As Teddy positioned himself in front of her, Danielle felt her gaze moving about the room. The crude sounds of the gunshots hardly escaping her senses, as a hand reached out to settle against his arm. At least until he was pulling free his gun, and the brunette was set to mirror his movements. “Left side,” All the bullets were being shot from the balcony, which meant they were out of the hot zone, as long as they could side step their way towards the far wall. “Looks like some people are down,” Leaning over him, she let her gaze narrow in on those shot. A few familiar faces caught her attention as she swallowed the bubbling anxiety. “Malcolm,” Tracing her hues towards the other side of the balcony. “and Gabriel, some others but I don’t know them.” It was times like these, that often made the woman question how much of her life she took for granted. Notably the male in front of her now, as she caught his eyes, and she exhaled. “We should try and help them.”

Joey moved through the crowd with her head dipped down, she wasn’t sure why she wasn’t feeling her best, after all, she was a social butterfly so why she wasn’t feeling social was beyond her. She was ready to just get an Uber and call it for the night, but then she collided with someone. Looking up at the other woman, Joey immediately started to apologize. “Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, I wasn’t paying attention. Are you okay? Did you spill anything on yourself?”

“No harm, no foul.” Dani returns, lifting her hands up to showcase her promise. “Oh hey,” Always one to remember a face, the brunette glanced over the other. They’d met that one night at Ace, when the two had shared bits and pieces of their life stories to each other. “Joey isn’t it? I think we’ve met before just once.” Offering her a small smile, she glanced towards the exit. “You weren’t leaving already were you?”

Teddy was staring and he didn’t know how to stop. He had asked Dani to come with him as a way to be in public with her without it seeming suspicious but now that he was here and in public, he wasn’t sure how to behave. It was becoming to difficult to ignore the feelings that were threatening to come out and ruin everything. He didn’t know if she had felt the same way as he did and he didn’t want to take the risk because of the potential for rejection. They were in the same gang if it got messy they couldn’t avoid each other. However every time he caught someone staring at Dani, Teddy wanted to go over and punch them. He knew he had to do something even if it was just talking to his date. “ You wanna dance?”  He blurted out unsure if it was what he wanted but he just wanted to be near her.

Nervous wasn’t the right word to describe her current sentiments, though Dani couldn’t help but feel a little giddy. Which in light of certain events, felt selfish. After all, who attended a party during such circumstances? Nonetheless, she had decided to place her best foot forward, and had her favorite company to help her along the way. “You dance?” A smile toyed her lips then as her gaze traveled towards the dance floor, a multitude of couples already swaying against the music. “You know, I can never say no to you.” Which was the very reason she had agreed to this date in the first place, though she couldn’t be sure if it was just two friends attending together, or something else altogether. The scarier part was the simple realization, that she even wanted more with him. “Lead the way handsome, I’m at your disposal.”
