Quaz's shirt is like, 5 sizes too big - did he steal it from someone?

He can't have his tools back, though. I carved my name into 'em already.

(( Some backstory: Quaz used to live in Orgrimmar in a little tin shack, in a part of the city with the other Kezanian refugees. It was burned down during the time Garrosh was Warchief and he lost almost everything he'd managed to scrape together since arriving in Kalimdor.

He left for Ratchet in his damaged shredder mech to stay at Trizzip and Jax's place (Trizzip mostly felt sorry for him and Jax just went along with it). Having lost all his money and clothes he borrowed a few of Jax's shirts (Quaz couldn't fit into Trizz's).

Jax had a well-equipped workshop that Quaz also helped himself to, using the space and materials to repair his damaged mech. He prioritised that above getting an actual job, and he was basically just leeching off them and being a crappy housemate (and getting away with it thanks to Trizz sticking up for him). Over weeks, Jax went from barely tolerating Quaz to being openly hostile towards him, especially when Trizz wasn't around, and Quaz was essentially held hostage by his ride being in pieces in Jax's workshop.

Quaz continued working on his mech while trying not to cross the death knight. Then, it all went to complete shit when Trizz went poking around in the workshop and accidentally got his leg sliced off by the almost fully-repaired machine.

Quaz fled in his mech (with a stash of Jax's stuff in it) and Jax went on the warpath, hunting him down and disabling his machine in the outskirts of The Crossroads. Jax tried to rip the terrified warlock from his mech, but Quaz managed to hit him with a lucky chaos bolt from the cockpit, blasting off Jax's arm and setting the area on fire, which attracted the attention of nearby guards. Quaz escaped in the chaos, and it was the last time he ever saw Jax.

The moral of the story is letting Quaz crash at your place might just end up costing you an arm and a leg [insert canned laughter here] :D

…Now he's basically flexing on Jax since it's been so long he believes he's escaped all consequences. If Jax actually turned up again he would shit himself, lol. It's thanks to him he has a fear of death knights.

Pretty much how I remember it! Jax even still has the scar from regrowing the soft tissue, where new knits to old ( in headcanon chaos fire is one of the only kinds of damage that won't neatly heal as if nothing happened ) and if he ever runs across Quaz again. Well, he's a very angry goblin who has a very long memory.

so the 15 year WoW Cataclysm anniversary was the other day and then I was reminded that it almost perfectly lined up with my blog anniversary. I made this blog 1 year after creating Quaz in WoW on Cata launch day AND I'M STILL GOING...

it also happens to line up with me finishing that comic which is cool because I think that's the most effort I've put into any single art project relating to Quaz.

anyway I dug up some old shit to celebrate that I'm fucking old now and so is this character yippeeee

my first ever screenie of him next to some rando to compare the different model heights

marvelling at the new food & drinks (MoP wasn't released yet so the dragons on the boxes weren't even a thing in game...unless you counted that promo minipet "spirit of competition" that i remembered just now for some reason)

Quaz's original name was actually Hijinks. I levelled him to max level (85) on a regular oceanic server that I already played on, and then since there were no oceanic RP servers I transferred him to Wyrmrest Accord in march 2011. Someone already had the name Hijinks so I had to change it, and the random name generator had my back lol.

I started RPing on him straight away, I'd never RPed in WoW before, I'd just raided like a normie. Transmog wasn't even in the game yet (which is the only explanation for everyone wearing those hideous giant belts) and goblins and worgen were the newest and "best" models in the game at that point (and they've since been revamped AGAIN which is crazy to me)

I think this was the first art I ever uploaded of Quaz. I put it on deviantart, but I never put it on this blog. I didn't stray too far from the in-game model, it's basically dad bod Quaz.

Another one of the first drawings I did of him, this is with his default imp before he upgraded to a fel imp/Nipnuk. There's a single post at the very beginning of this blog where I drew him. He's called Pizmat in-game but he was always piss mat to me 💜

here's what 15 years worth of play time looks like and he's not even my most played character...

A Fan-made Warcraft Comic Anthology

I made something for the Interlude comic book this year which has the theme of "home", which lines up perfectly with the introduction of housing in WoW.

The sky and sea of Sumwher'z Isle are extra dazzling at night, and Quaz takes a quiet moment to marvel at it. It's definitely a lot nicer to gaze at than the "sky" of Undermine.
