( This is an Ask/Roleplay Cosplay blog for Dave Strider. I am happy to roleplay with anyone, gif or text, and am a multishipper. I am happy to ship anything, in contexts that don't interfere with other roleplays with other ships that may be occurring at the same time. The mun dates the mun of ask-rl-ectobiologist, whose link can be found below, also hence the large amount of DaveJohn you will see. Thank you! )
OOC thoughts on the upd8 because I can't help it guys
Okay so I have a few opinions about the Gamrezi going on that don't quite seem to flow with the fandom's mindset and I feel almost sick from seeing all of the hate going around.
First off, yes, Gamzee is my baby. I love him. He is not faultless by any means, but I am indeed biased when it comes to matters of this kind.
But I also love Terezi.
And I understand that the physical abuse Gamzee has just displayed is not typical Kismesis behavior, from my own understanding of Kismesitude.
But you know what is? Manipulation, emotional abuse and typical rivalry between two trolls.
You know what isn't Kismesis behavior?
Fucking stabbing them a zillion fucking times.
Your kismesis is the fucking Gary Oak to your Ash Ketchum. Did they compete or, in Gary's case, engage in belittling of the other? Yes, on several occasions.
Did you ever see them stab each other? Not really, no.
I don't care if she was looking for some sort of resolution or revenge or whatever for Gamzee's mentally abusive behavior--you don't fucking stab your Kismesis. Especially if they are not fighting back at all for the, oh--lets say, three to ten minutes she may have been stabbing him. That's a long fucking time and she did notice that he was not fighting back. I understand that she really wants some sort of resolution, but after so long of hacking into his unresponsive body, you'd think she might cut some slack.
Also that you don't fucking stab your Kismesis.
Not that she'd be the first to stab/kill/attempt to kill another character, especially when compared to Gamzee, but people hate Gamzee for murdering other characters. Many of the fandom hate Eridan and Vriska for the same reasons.
So why is Terezi any exception? Why is she seen as so noble and faultless for stabbing an unresponsive troll repeatedly?
Furthermore, if I personally was being stabbed (let alone by someone I hated), even if the other person dropped the weapon they were using to hack me to bits, I'd like to think that I would be pretty justified to smack a bitch. Or rather, cavort into the air and punch her teeth out. Both situations qualify.
So why is it perfectly fine for Gamzee to be at complete fault merely for punching Terezi in the face, when she spent the last so long stabbing and hacking his body to pieces?
I'm almost afraid to admit that I feel as though it boils down to a simple, sad mindset:
Its horrible and cruel and abusive to hit a woman and it should be acceptable everywhere if a woman is to defend herself.
But as soon as a man is being physically abused by a woman, god forbid he use any self defense at all, because that's just wrong.
tl;dr I like Terezi, but Gamzee is justified and I'm actually more pissed that much of the fandom is refusing to acknowledge that she was fUCKING STABBING HIM.
Why is it okay to berate Gamzee for self defense?
Not saying that Gamzee is completely faultless--he's far from--but I felt as though this needed to be said due to all of the Gamzee hate.
I am a Homestuck fan. I promise to support and be grateful to Hussie for all that he has done for us. I promise to never blame him for site failures, long hiatuses, or the actions taken in the comic.
I understand that, without Hussie, there would be no Homestuck.
Please reblog if you feel the same. Let’s show these people the ones who blame, harass and attack Hussie are the unwanted minority among us. (via partofthe2hiip)
Lately you all have just been getting worse and worse. I’ll admit that it’s not all of you, but a pretty big majority.
For the most part, I really don’t give a damn what you do on your own time or at cons. It’s pretty much a given fact that it’s embarrassing to admit that...
So we went and made a PB&J blog because why the hell not at this point. We've been in love with this pairing since day one. It's about time we do this.
