Lady Noument and Realist Hunt Psypaper, Part 2.
[The town square is covered in toilet paper. It's draped dramatically over City Hall and several other nearby buildings, binding the doors and windows to keep people trapped inside. In the center of the square, a black-haired man in a blue jumpsuit stands with a hand aloft. Some of the toilet paper is surrounded with a soft blue glow, and floats in the air. It's wrapped around a struggling man in blue-and-brown armor-like clothing, a deep cerulean cape, and a worn, slightly rusty helmet. The black-haired man speaks with a refined, calm voice.]
???: Well now, you've found yourself in a rather unpleasant situation. I would say this could be a good life lesson to you, if I were the type to put stock in life lessons. Not that it matters anyway- it's doubtful you'll live long enough to put the lesson into practice.
[The armored man grunts and strains against the surprisingly powerful grip of the paper. In a somewhat growly voice, he replies:]
???: I'm not beaten yet, Psypaper.
[The black-haired man, presumably Psypaper, laughs dismissively.]
Psypaper: Oh, my dear Citadel. Don't you see? Even at your maximum power, this paper is too strong for you to escape. It's over for you. Though, your mind is a very interesting case and I'm likely to spend a great deal of time on you. So, you may take some comfort in the knowledge that your life will last a tad longer.
[Realist suddenly springs out of hiding. Lady Noument gasps and dashes after him.]
Lady Noument: What are you doing?!
Realist: Not if I have anything to say about it! Stand down, Psypaper!
[The armored man, Citadel, struggles against his restraints again. His movements seem less pronounced now, however.]
Citadel: Ngh...you idiots! Don't interfere!
[Psypaper makes a dismissive hand gesture, and the toilet paper binding Citadel moves, wrapping around a nearby building to tie him to the side.]
Psypaper: Ah, uninvited guests. What joy. Still, I think you'll find I'm not so weak as I appear.
[A wicked smile spreads over his face as he lifts his hand, and some of the paper strewn about the area rises with it. He points to Lady Noument and Realist, and the rolls of paper streak towards them. They swiftly dive and roll out of the way, Realist to the left and Noument to the right. Realist lifts his hand, and a small pink-purple line appears around his palm, forming itself into a square. A blast of energy fires from it; Psypaper puts up his hands to shield himself, but is still knocked back, his shoes sliding on the ground and kicking up dust.]
Lady Noument: Nice one. Still, we should have waited a bit longer to attack. On your left.
[Realist casually points with his left hand to a line of paper streaking towards him from the left. A thin, glowing energy circle forms around his finger, and multiple bolts of reality energy fire from it; they punch holes through the toilet paper, which flumps to the ground unceremoniously.]
Realist: Maybe so, but it's too late now. Behind you.
[Lady Noument dodges to the side to avoid a roll of paper that had been trying to hit her from behind. She holds out her hand palm-first, and both it and the paper glow deep pink. The paper careens around a lamppost and travels to the side, hitting Psypaper in the face.]
Lady Noument: Looks like you misjudged the path of that attack. Actions have consequences, you know!
[Psypaper growls and tosses the toilet paper off his face.]
Psypaper: Well, if my paper won't work, I'll use the Psy part of my name.
[Realist laughs and holds out his hand as if cradling something.]
Realist: You don't even have psychic powers! You don't scare us, you know!
[An orb of pinkish-purple reality energy manifests in Realist's hand- small at first, but slowly growing to the approximate size of a baseball. He pulls his hand back and hurls it at Psypaper. However, the paper-wielding villain easily dodges it, and it soars past him. Citadel groans and lifts his head.]
Citadel: That's not...what he means by...agh!
[The orb's hit Citadel instead! He slumps over a little, clearly too weak to escape his bonds at this point.]
Psypaper: Realist. Control over reality energy, used primarily for creation of attacks and force fields. Intelligent, with considerable force of will and power behind his abilities. Easily angered and conforms strongly to his morals.
Psypaper: I've seen you in action and heard of your exploits. With this knowledge, constructing a rudimentary psychological profile is simple. Please don't waste my time with inane questions.
[Realist clenches his fists.]
Realist: Inane questions?! You...you're out here attacking innocent people and you act like this is all some big INCONVENIENCE to you?!
[He holds out both his hands, and the line forms a large circle.]
Lady Noument: Realist, don't! He'll-
[But it's too late! A massive beam of reality energy expands from his outstretched hands and shoots toward Psypaper. The villain's arms streak upward, and many of the surrounding strands of paper weave together to form a barrier in front of him. The blast tears the paper to shreds, but dissipates afterwards; Psypaper is unharmed.]
Psypaper: Come now. I just told you what I was doing, and you fell for it anyway. After an embarrassing tactical blunder like that, you deserve what's coming to you.
[Psypaper lets out a confident laugh and gestures to Realist with the palm of his hand. Toilet paper leaps at him from all sides, wrapping around his body and pulling him to the ground.]
[Psypaper slowly approaches Realist, chuckling. Lady Moment rushes towards them, but Psypaper is closer and reaches him first. He lifts his leg and slams his foot onto Realist's chest, making the hero gasp for breath. Realist glares at Psypaper and spits onto his jumpsuit. Psypaper grimaces and pushes down harder.]
Psypaper: You are a stubborn one. Still, you should be realizing now what a mistake it was to- Agh!
[Lady Noument, using her momentum to increase the force of her blow, punches Psypaper square in the jaw, knocking him some distance away. He growls and tilts his head at them as Noument tears the paper off of Realist.]
Realist: Damn it, I let him get to me...
Lady Noument: It's all right. I have a plan. He used up a lot of the toilet paper on that maneuver, meaning there's less for him to draw from. And I've noticed a spot, right over there...
[She points to a small area where paper is strewn across the ground.]
Lady Noument: The paper's positioned in a way that I could trip him with it. If we can get him to stand near that paper and attack with it, I think we can beat him.
Realist: Not a bad idea. So you distract him and try to lure him near it, I take up position nearby and draw his attention?
Lady Noument: Then we trip him up and beat him up.
[She grins and clenches her fists. Psypaper, having recovered from the damage she did, stands up and stretches his arms above his head.]
Psypaper: Seems Lady Noument wants to join in on the action. Very well then...
[He dashes towards her with his fists raised, swinging one of his arms at her torso. She blocks it with relative ease, and the two begin to trade blows. Meanwhile, Realist makes sure Psypaper's not looking before hightailing it backwards, until he's close to the small pile.]
Lady Noument: You're not half- ngh- bad at this, Psypaper. But it's two against one!
[She feints with a movement to the right, making Psypaper dodge to the other side- and right into her punch. He's knocked away, closer to the pile. Realist grins and stretches his fingers out; circles form around their tips, and small missiles of energy streak towards Psypaper, hurting him even further.]
Realist: That's right! Come on then- if you're so strong, surely you can beat an easily angered, stubborn goody-two-shoes like me with no effort!
Psypaper: Ngh...you would be wise not to draw my ire. Take this!
[The toilet paper at his feet is surrounded by a soft blue glow, and streaks of it begin to lift themselves up and rush toward Realist.]
Lady Noument: Got you now!
[The blue glow slowly gives way to a pink one. Psypaper gasps and looks down to find that the paper is encircling his ankles- and soon, pulling him along as it moves straight toward Realist. Realist's hands are still outstretched, but this time, a larger circle is forming. Psypaper's eyes shoot wide open just as the beam of energy bursts from Realist's palms, disintegrating the paper and making Psypaper fly backwards into a wall. He slumps to the ground.]
Psypaper: Ngh...agh...but I don't understand...I am...
[He tries to lift his hand, but only succeeds in making some toilet paper rise a few inches into the air and then fall onto him. Mere moments later, he passes out. Realist breathes a sigh of relief and turns his head to smile at an approaching Noument.]
Lady Noument: Great job! That was incredible!
Realist: Oh, it was nothing...
[He blushes a little and rubs the back of his head. Noument giggles and points at him.]
Lady Noument: You're picking up habits from Tecton.
Realist: Apparently so. Regardless, I have to say, you were excellent too. We make a pretty great team.
Lady Noument: Maybe we do.
[She smiles back, then steps towards the unconscious Citadel.]
Lady Noument: Let's get him down. Then I'll take Psypaper into custody and you can clean this mess up.
Realist: No problem at all.
