"I know my venom isĀ potentĀ and it is strong enough to kill, but im not like that! I promise and swear never I will!"
"Not many people are fond of my kind, thank goodness that mutieĀ doesn'tĀ seemĀ to mind"
"Are you sure? Is this "Mutie"...? Why would they call Lucille "Mutie"?"
"No... it justĀ can'tĀ be. We lived just barely outside of AndalusstĀ before the accident. I had been there shopping for Lucille's birthday present when the house collasped. They found my poor wife in the rubble, but never found the kittens. Ā My kittens wouldn't have had to be in the fog too long if thats where they went. Not long enough to cause any memory loss."
"I see. I'm sorry, young man, But you must have the wrong 'mon. One of my kittens is an Espurr, But my Lucille doesn't have any unusual markings, and I've certainly never seen them with an egg. Besides, She would be with her sister, Abigail. She never left her side.
"This is the last thing I have of my wife and children. All our other photos were destroyed in the accident... H-have you happened to see the kittens, wherever you are from?"
(( I'm assuming these asks are non-canon? Just curious ))
((yep, non canon.))
"Y-You've seen my Kittens? Where are they? Are they safe?"

(( consider this an rp starter or an ask, whichever you prefer :3 )) A Meowstic by the name of Marius notices the Espurr following him. Curious, he turns to them. "H-Hello?" he stutters out in his usual nervous tone. "C-C-Can I help you?" He tugs on his scarf, the gaze of the young creature seeming to pierce through his soul.
The espurr says nothing, continuing to stare at the meowstic infront of them. As the Meowstic fidgeted with his scarf, Mutie clutched the egg they were carrying closer to their chest. A few moments when by, before a few images curiously flashed through Mariusās mind. The accessory shop, and then a scarf. After these images fade, the little espurr tilts their head to the side, expression never changing
He connected the images together, trying to find what they telling him. āMutieā¦ā he repeated. āIs that your name?ā A smile formed on his face. āT-Thatās a very nice name. M-M-My name is Marius.ā He nodded, holding the door open for the little Espurr. āA-After you, Mutie.ā As they entered, Marius looked around the shop. It was nearly barren save for 2 or 3 other Pokemon browsing around. All the different accessories were surprisingly appealing to the eye⦠and obviously overpriced. The guild accessories had their own section, on display with each being a different color. A sign next to them read: āFor voucher redemption, see the front desk. Ring bell for assistance if no one is presentā āM-My partner is actually in here,ā Marius said, remembering why he was walking this way before he ran into the Espurr. āW-W-We got into a nasty scuffle this morning, so right now sheās still getting patched upā¦ā
Mutie entered the shop, and froze for a moment or two. While there werent very many pokemon in the shop, One of them was a ghost type, Haunter. Mutieās frown deepened ever so slightly, and they clutched the egg closer. It would seem that they didnt trust ghost pokemon in the slightest. Mutie waited a bit to move, as the Haunter was looking at the scarves.Ā
When Marius spoke again, Mutie stared up at him for a bit, before an image of the hospital flashed through his mind, followed by Mutie tilting their head again.
Marius shook his head, not seeming to know or notice Mutieās disposition towards the ghost. āO-Oh no, no, itās not that bad, to be honest⦠A-And besidesā¦ā He looked towards the back of the store. āItās⦠not really something a h-hospital can fixā¦ā As the Haunter went to the other side of the room, Marius clutched his scarf. āY-Youāll see what Iām talking about when she comes out,ā he said. āFor now though, while weāre waiting, why d-donāt we take care of your accessory?ā He walked with the Espurr up to the counter, noting that no one was there. He spotted the silver bell and pressed the top of it with his paw. As the ring sounded throughout the store, a bump came from under the counter, along with a small yelp.Ā āOw! Uuumphā¦ā A Lopunny popped up, startling the Meowstic a little. āHello, hello! Welcome to Chantelleās- oh, itās you again,ā she said, smiling despite the pain. āYouāre here early. Your friend is almost ready, donāt worry.ā "T-Thanks," Marius replied, watching the girl rub the back of her head. "U-Uh, while weāre waiting, my friend here would like to redeem a voucher." She turned her attention to his companion, seeming to beam. āOh? Another hunter, I see.ā She sighed happily. āMan, the Hunters are awesome, I wish I could be just as courageous as themā¦ā She broke out of her daze. āO-Oh! Right, do you have your voucher ready?ā
Mutie's eyes followed the haunter for a moment, before Marius guided them to the counter and rung the bell. Mutie had to step back a bit to be able to look up at the pokemon Ā behind the counter. They stared up at the Lopunny with the same empty eyes they always had, and used their psychic powers to make the Vocher appear before them and placed it on the counter. An image of a dark purple scarf entered her mind, followed by an image of marius, a first aid kit, a silhouette of a random pokemon, and a question mark.

((starter >w<)) A little ways off from two fairy pokemon, a certain espurr stood, watching. They had been watching the two fairy pokemon for a while, only looking away to check the egg they held firmly in their arms. After waiting a few moments longer, they slowly started to approach.
The Floette had been eyeing the cat since sheād noticed them. A hostile gleam shone in her eyes as the feline started over to them, and she elbowed her sister in the side.
"I donāt like the way that catās looking at us," she growled, gripping her stem tighter.
The smaller girl looked over, eyes wide and curious. Her ears drooped slightly at the Espurrās haggard appearance, but a smile reappeared on her face just moments afterwards. āCāmon, Lark, heā¦ā she paused, unsure of their gender, āā¦sheā¦? T-theyāre probably just saying hello! Maybe theyāve never seen a fairy before~!ā she exclaimed, her voice melodious. Larkspur gave a snarl, but didnāt protest.
The Flabebe made a movement to float over and meet the Espurr halfway, but the Floette held her back. āAza, no. Let them come to us.ā
The espurr stopped for a moment, hesitant at the floetteās hostility. They tilted their head to the side, before a few images flashed through their minds. They were various images of pokemon peacefully talking, trying to communicate that they meant no harm. Being mute made it hard to communicate any other way. They continued walking towards them, and when they got closer more images flashed through their minds. Pictures from old storybooks about the fabled fairy types.
"What-" Larkspur gasped, images flooding through her mind. Azalea, too, had had the same treatment, it seemed, though she seemed much more excited about it.Ā
"How did you-" she started, excitement in her gaze, but the Floette cut her off. "The hell was that?!" she growled, floating through the air to the Espurr, "You messing with our heads, kitty? Try that again and see what happens." Larkspur yelled, brandishing her stem like a club. The smaller fairy zipped after her sister, and, lowering the raised weapon, turned apologetically to the Espurr. "Ah⦠sorry about my sister~!" she said, trying to ease the tension, "Sheās just a little nervous around people she doesnāt know, is all,"
"Iām not fuckinā ānervousā," the older fairy muttered, glaring at a spot to her right and down. The Flabebe scowled. "Language, Larkspur!"
She turned back to the cat, fiddling with her flower. āA-anyways, Iām Azalea and this is Larkspur. And, ah, weāre fairies, as you noticed⦠whatās your name?ā
The espurr blinked Ā and gripped the egg tighter when Larkspur raised her thorny stem at them, but otherwise showed no reaction. No fear, no surprise, just their usual empty expression. As Azelea spoke, they relaxed their grip on the egg a bit.Ā
When asked their name, the Espurr again projected images, but this time only to Azalea. It was various memories of other citizens referring to them as "Mutie". When those had faded, one last image appeared. It was a illustration from the story book "The Little Vaporeon", a story about a vaporeon who lived in the sea, and gave up her voice for a chance to be with the pokemon she loved on land. The illustration was of a glowing yellow object leaving the Vaporeon's throat, presumably her voice.

(( A personal rant is ahead, so just skip over this if youāre not entirely interested. )) So a recent RP I started involving an unknown-gender Espurr named Mutie got me thinking, and I have to get these things off my chest: One of the weirdest things I have to consider when writing is when...
(( honestly I don't mind it too much, even I slip up and almost write "he" or "she" when writing Mutie. Mutie's gender is a mystery for story reasons, but that doesn't mean your character can't wonder or slip up from time to time. I prefer the they/them/their pronouns for Mutie because it helps keep the mystery alive! I just don't want to confuse anyone who wants to interact with them into thinking that their gender is one or the other. Its a tiny spoiler, but I'll say this: Due to an incident, Mutie doesn't have a sense of gender. It just doesn't compute. If they did speak, I'm sure they would be getting pronouns wrong all over the place.
Tldr; Its ok if you mess up Mutie's pronouns sometimes both ic and ooc. It happens.
