After a good amount of time spent on cleanup the last battle of the day was about to start. The sky had broken out in warm colors and the sun began to set. Clouds glowed golden accenting the sky. The crowd settled in, long anticipating the next fight.
Pristine stepped up to the stand and the speakers echoed. “In the last battle of the day, we will witness Dark Overlord Arty, aka Tenten, go up against the ex demon hunter, Xanthusss!!!” The crowd hollered and hooted for the two as they stepped out into the open.
A firework flew through the fiery painted sky. BANG!!! 3…
Tenten started giggling to himself and tried his best to brush it off as scoffing. He starts walking back and forth.
Xanthus mirrors his movement and they both find themselves along parallel lines. She looks at him curiously, maybe a bit irked, for his stifling.
Instantly as the last firework burst in the air, creating a frenzy of beautiful dripping lights, Tenten fell face first onto the ground. He didn’t move. The hosts peering on inquisitively while the crowd began to fill with mutters.
Xanthus looks on with a confused look. She quickly shakes it off and approaches warily, though he appeared, harmless?? this was not common but neither was it an unheard of strategy to lure in your opponent.
She comes closer, on her toes, making her way much like an agile cat. As she peeks over the boy Tenten shoots his arms out and shoves his upper body up, propping them with his elbows a tool gripped tightly in his hand.
Xanthus shoots up and back, unable to process what possible move Tenten would pull. “SELLLFIIIE BREAAK~” Tenten jests. He captures a blurred shot of himself with Xanthus leaping in the background.
Irritated, Xanthus changes direction and charges forward. She has the greatest potential to come on strong and intimidating. And she does exactly that, as she comes to realize what her opponent was doing;
1) not taking this seriously, 2)poking fun at her whether intentional or not, 3) pulling shit like that.
Angered by Tenten’s repeated impulsive whimsical action Xanthus leaps back into the air coming down onto Tenten. Tenten’s smile disappears as he looks up the what was casting a shadow over him. He barrel rolls away, Xanthus landing a fist on the ground. And with a quick flick pulls out his spells book and summons the pixies.
3 little creatures pop out with a bit of smoke, one yellow, one blue and one pink. The pink one hops onto Xanthus’ shoulder while the other two flutter around her head. Xanthus throws her arms around in attempts to catch them.
"Time to get serious now~!" Tenten whispers, though his voice was still sounding playful. He begins to wave his hand over his spell book and a dark purple aura begins to emit.
Xanthus noticing this tries to quickly get rid of the current pests to move onto whatever the boy had next. The pink pixie rant aournd her shoulders and climb around on her cloack making snide remarks. The yellow and blue we’re pulling at her hair. Finally fed up she agilly grabs ahold of the two fling around her and somehow manages to catch the pink one. She holds them all in her hands irritated and ready to crush them
”*~!!^ (it’s time to get out of here girls!” the pink one glitters and the three poof away from danger and back to where they we’re originally summoned away from. The aura from Tenten’s book was much larger and brighter now. Xanthus turns to the tattooed boy then to the dirt ground. She shoves her scarred claws into it before pulling up a large clot of earth. She uses her powers of levitation to lift it and throw the solid mounds of earth at her opponent.
With just seconds to spare Tenten manages to summon his whale shark. A large amount of mist surrounds it as it appears. It floats above Tenten and whips the incoming rocks with its tail back at Xanthus. To dodge she levitates and swishes around the air. The whale shark moves through the air with Xanthus and appears almost to be swimming.
It goes after her with its large open mouth. Xanthus, quite done with the charade, draws out her hands, claws ready to slice .The ground within the arena starts to shake and begins to break into multiple smaller pieces. To keep his footing, Tenten hops around from rock to rock, avoiding the shattered earth and its sharp edges. Maybe he should have worn more clothing, he thinks to himself, suddenly aware of his one true weakness.
Angered the woman rushes at the whale while preparing a floating bombardment of earth above them. She claws, slashes and stabs at the massive creature with as much strength and speed as she can muster. In addition she hurdles the pieces of earth down, preparing to cause as much damage as possible to end it all quickly.
Guilht, one of the hosts, had to manage a magical barrier over the audience to keep the attack contained, as shards of rock flew everywhere. Xanthus keeps at it until the whale shark poofs away like the pixies had earlier.
Dust clouded the arena making it impossible to view the battle from under the magical shield that protected the audience. As it cleared, Xanthus was seen still hovering in the air, breathing heavily from the excitement. Tenten lay on the broken ground, parts of him under the mass destruction but not crushed. He did though have enough cuts and bruises to appear down for the count.
Pristine analyses the scene, mic held up to her face in preparation. Though Tenten was conscious, but something looked off. Each of his tattoos we’re sliced and cut in some way shape or form along with the rest of his flesh and skin. Though not deadly, they appeared to be causing a disturbance with him.
Tenten with blank eyes throws his head back to face the sunset sky. He breaths, a weak chuckle coming from his mouth, “Its like death all over again…” not that he could hear himself. “I guess I can’t fight like this…” All his senses we’re severed. Tears he could not control or even be aware of dripped down his face. He should not have played around..
"The winner is Xanthus!!!" Pristine declares over the speakers. The barrier disappears and the crowd cheers! Xanthus’ rage settles itself as the applause grows and the medics struggle to make their way to Tenten with the ground’s uneven new layout.
