Hey guys! Sorry for all the inactivity here! There’s been a lot going on and it’s been hard to manage the blogs here on Tumblr. We hope to be back soon in full swing with new things and exciting stuff!
Vahni, can you tell us about your little gang in your own words :3 Id love to hear your thoughts on them ^.^
“I’ll do my best, but this doesn’t mean you can hold me to my words. But I’ll speak the honest truth.”
“… And I’ll start with the most annoying. Ji might look like this lovable guy, but he’s straight up the most annoying person I’ve ever met. And don’t worry, he knows I think that. He’s constantly playing his pipa and singing these old folk songs over… and over… and over again. His optimism is great at times… but all the time? Come on. He’s a decent bender though, it’s nice to have someone who can plantbend.”
“And then there’s Xan. He’s really annoying too. He follows me around constantly, which I get it, it’s his job, but the guy doesn’t get personal space. I have a bubble that I don’t want popped, yet he’s continuously popping it. Plus he’s a square, he doesn’t talk about anything that interests him and the only way to actually get him to smile is watching Pro-Bending. Call me biased, but I prefer interesting people instead of boring squares.”
“I can’t really complain about Rajeeyah. She’s super sweet and a great spirit to her. I personally think we get along great. I’ve known some amazing non-benders in my time, and she’s one of those people who just kill it. Spirits, the girl can fight, and she doesn’t let anyone stop her. That’s super admirable if you ask me. She’s definitely someone I admire and look up to.”
“Now… I have mixed feelings about Buniq. On one hand, she’s super sweet and down-to-earth, on another… She’s a bit like Xan. Then again, she’s also got some awesome healing skills I’d like to learn once I get to waterbending, so I don’t wanna get on her bad side. She’s sorta that gray area I’m still getting to know. I will say though… I really like her hair loopies.”
“And then there’s Seiji. You gotta love him but Holy Hotman he’s clumsy, and awkward… And he does this thing every time he gets nervous where his ears turn bright red and he basically turns into a tomato. I can say this, we’ve been best friends for two years. I also will say, just because he’s easy to tease, doesn’t mean he can’t get a temper. You learn that the hard way.”
Hey Vahni, when do u think Sozin's Comet arrives in your time?Cos it's been a Century already right? And I don't mean to make u sad,but your past life spent only 2 years as the Avatar. So when is the Comet arriving?
“If I’m not mistaken, Sozin’s Comet arrived several years before I was born in 200 AG. So, it’ll probably come back in 300 AG. I was born in 221 AG, so if I live another 94 years, Sozin’s Comet will return.”
“Weimin was 20 years old when he died, actually, so he lived through the last visit by Sozin’s Comet.”
“I does kind of suck that I might miss it. That would’ve been so cool to see. I can only imagine how hardcore my firebending would be.”
(hi me again lmao) How do you plan on learning the other Elements? On Air Temple Island with the White Lotus, or by traveling to the other nations and learning it there?
“For my airbending training, the White Lotus have basically sentenced me to Air Temple Island. I’ve been studying and practicing there for the last two years.”
“As for the other two elements, they won’t really tell me what the plan is. I don’t really have much of a say in where I learn or who I want to teach me. Seiji and I eavesdropped on a couple of members saying that they’re thinking about sending me to the Northern Water Tribe for my waterbending training, but it’s not set in stone.
“If it were up to me, I’d go to the Southern Tribe and learn waterbending from my mom. She’s an excellent waterbender as are both my grandparents. You’d think since I’m almost sixteen they’d let me have a say in where I want to go, yet here we stand.”
“As for my earthbending training, no one has said anything. They’ve already said a big no-no to training in Ba Sing Se, though. Probably because of the Avatar before me. My best guess would either be Gaoling or Zaofu.”
Vahni, this isn't a question, I just wanted to tell you that you're super pretty! I love your eyes ^_^
“Oh?”
“Well… Thanks!”
Hey Vahni,do u feel like Water and Earth r gonna be hard to master? And why?
“Oh my spirits, don’t even get me started on waterbending. I tried for five years when I was little to waterbend - I mean, my parents legitimately thought I was a waterbender and I swore to myself I’d never attempt waterbending ever again, but I guess I don’t have much of a choice.”
“Yin said it’s probably because waterbending is my opposite element, so it’ll be harder for me to get the hang of. Then again, I really just hate waterbending in general.”
“As for earthbending, I’m not sure, honestly. I haven’t gotten that far yet. Seiji seems to think it’ll be my hardest element since I over-think everything, and since earthbending is straightforward it’ll be hard for me to understand.”
“I beg to differ though. I’ve never really been super good at the physical side of bending anyways. It took me a while to even get the hang of airbending, so we’ll see what happens I guess.”
Hey Vahni,do u have famous celebrities like actors and musicians and writers in Republic City or the Earth Federation
“Oh, yeah definitely! It’s hard to name them off the top of my head. There’s a few. There’s the “Painted Ladies” group from Republic City, they’re really big in the Fire Nation at the moment. Wei Shi, he’s the main actor in “Cool Chief of the South”, he’s from the Southern Water Tribe, but he’s based in Republic City too.”
“There’s a lot of musical groups though. I personally listen to just the “Painted Ladies” because they’re really good with the whole female empowerment genre. I also kind of like this new upcoming band, “Out of Sync”. They’re okay, but they’re pretty stereotypical boyband types.”
Do you watch/listen to probender tournaments?
“Totally! My dad used to be a Pro-Bender after all! We watch them as much as we can, but we’re currently following Red Sands Rabaroos since my dad’s old teammate’s son is a firebender for the team! They’re in fourth at the moment, but we’re pretty sure they’ll make it to the quarter-finals.”
How did you find out you were the Avatar?
“It’s a pretty long story, but I’ll do my best to summarize! Let’s first pin-point the United Republic doesn’t actually have a method to finding the Avatar, so they were slacking while the White Lotus was focused in on the Fire Nation, go figure. So it took them a lot longer to find me than expected.”
“Now, the actual finding part was a bit more on the experimental side. There wasn’t much of a method to finding the Avatar, or me I guess, since there’s only been two others before me. So, they first did the Air Nomad route and told me to pick two items among a broad spectrum…”
“I happened to pick Korra’s arm band and Weimin’s lucky hair comb. Next, they had me study airbending and the Air Nomad history, which I did like learning about, but it took me a year to actually bend air for the first time. They almost moved on until I did it and over the last year I’ve been mastering airbending.”
“It was a pretty rough start, I won’t lie. A lot of White Lotus members doubted me because of my heritage. I almost didn’t believe it myself. I honestly didn’t want to believe it. Yet here we are.”
Hey Vahni, so if there was a chance to restore your connection to your past lives in the First Cycle, would u?
“I mean, maybe? I don’t have any clue how I’d do it. Even if I did, would that cause imbalance in the cycle? What if it didn’t fully restore all the past Avatars? What would the repercussions be? I just don’t know what kind of issues would be thrown in the mix. One thing I’ve learned about this Avatar gig is that there’s a lot of negative outcomes alongside the positives. I just like weighing my options.”
Hey Vahni,so how did u and Junjie meet?
“Me and JuJu met the summer after I turned six! We were out visiting my Aunt Chiya and Uncle Daichi’s farm when early one morning I heard these weird sounds outside the window of the guest room.”
“When I got out there, there was this little Tiger-Bear cub curled in a ball against the house. She was crying for her mama. I ran back inside and told my Uncle Daichi since he’s got this way with animals, and when he went back out, he told me that the cub had been denied by her mother so she was basically left to… Ya’ know…”
“She was an outcast, and I related to that on many different levels. So I sat outside with her and fed her some leftover fish from dinner.”
“Not long after, I was able to pick her up and carried her inside and begged my dad to let me keep her. Which at first he said no… Then my uncle agreed to let her stay on the farm! So I visit her almost every day!”
Hey Vajnk,of all the villains your past lives(including those of the First Cycle), has faced, which ones scare u and which ones do u hate?
“That’s a real tough one. I’ve learned about several of ‘em from Yin-Wei, and the one that strikes me the most fearfully, I’d have to say Vaatu. It might sound cliche, but I couldn’t imagine facing the actual spirit of chaos and darkness.”
“As for one I hate most, I’d have to say Ozai. His family started this chained stereotype that really villainizes firebenders. Believe it or not, not all of us are evil. You wouldn’t believe the amount of people who’re still cautious around firebenders. Thanks, Ozai.”
Vahni, have you met Asami or any of Korra's friends yet?
“I’m afraid I haven’t met her main group that is. I know of them though. They’re all retired. Mako and Asami are still in Republic City living in some fancy apartments somewhere. If I’m not mistaken, Xan told me Bolin and his wife, Opal, are in Zaofu with their family.”
“Though I’ve had the pleasure of meeting two of Avatar Aang’s grandkids. Since Yin-Wei is Ikki’s daughter, I’ve met Ikki on a few occasions. And sadly, Meelo and his family basically run Air Temple Island, so I’ve got the pleasure of seeing him every single day.”
SEIJI, DO YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON VAHNI??!?!?!@?
“What! No I do not! She’s just my friend. That’s it! I could never like her that way.”
“... I don’t know if I should take offense to this or not.”
Vahni, who are you closest to on your team?
“Uh... Does this mean I have to pick a favorite? Don’t tell anyone, but Seiji’s probably the one who I’ve become closest to. He’s been there since the beginning of this mess. Don’t tell him I said that.”
“Well uh... This is uh... Cool, very cool to be a favorite.”
“.... This is why I never tell him anything.”
Hey! How do it feel knowing you'll eventually be opposed by certain individuals when u become fully realized?
“I mean... Is this a trick question?”
“It’s not like I want people to hate me. Then again, we’re living in a time where nobody wants an Avatar, so I’d say I don’t even have to become a fully-realized Avatar for the haters to come in.”
Hey Vahni, how does it feel knowing u can't talk to Avatars of the First Cycle.
“I mean, if I’m being honest, it does kind of suck. Sure, I have two past lives to ask advice from, but it sort of takes out the whole thousands of years of experience part of the gig.”
