I find it kinda sad that Ace's unique spell manifested from his envy of everyone else and that his special skill literally has to be someone else's too. But at the same time I find it really fitting since trappola is the name of the first known card game where the ace ranks highest.

I wonder if in Book 8 we’ll finally get an explanation as to why there were so many overblots at NRC(something that is said to be rare), and why our villain boys survived them other than they got punched really hard.

If we don’t get an explanation then I’m sorry but the idea that so many mages tragically died to overblots, a manifestation of their negative emotions and insecurities, because someone didn’t tell them to stfu before punching them right in the mouth is funny to me.

I'm pretty sure that we'll get an explanation as to why so many OBs (something said to be rare) happened in under one year at NRC. (Idia does speculate in book 6 that someone is inducing or forcing the OBs to occur, and a lot of fans theorize Crowley is the guilty party.)

As for why our boys survived OB, it's not strange at all. Crowley implies it is possible to bring a mage back from OB if they knock the affected mage unconscious before their "magical energy runs dry". Idia later elaborates that the mage is like a juice box that the Phantom uses as a source of energy and/or an incubator. If the Phantom sucks the mage clean, it leads to the loss of life of that mage, while the Phantom continues to live on and rampage. However, there's still that window of time before this occurs, so that's when saving the mage would be possible.

Many of the Phantoms we see outside the context of NRC are without mages, so that paints a grim image of what happened to them. Think about the Phantom roaming the abandoned mines, and all the Phantoms Styx detains for experimentation and research.

I want to point out that OBs are NOT always manifestations of negative emotions and insecurities. This may be true of the OB boys, whom we spend the most time getting to know, but blot is, in of itself, just a magic byproduct. Blot accumulation is expedited by experiencing negative emotions, and Phantoms themselves are negative existences, but these should not be conflated as the reasons for OB. Someone could definitely overblot just from expending their energy or pushing themselves past their spellcasting limits, rather than having negative emotionality or negativity that mixes with magic overuse.

... But yeah, I guess if we had to boil this down to its most basic points, then punching people to the point of unconsciousness in order to save them is the solution www

Royal Sword Academy "Radiant Seven"

Holy fuck, so, they indeed have the mirror images of the Great Seven. And, in Sebek's words, they say it that way; RSA has their own 'figures' to look up to, which inspired their seven dorms.

(Btw, yes you can use my translation guys, but do give me credits because the last time I translated something like this, it got stolen c:)

The literal translation is: (The Bright Seven written in literal meaning) ... ... Radiant Seven. (The Grand Seven written in literal meaning), legendary figures who stand as equals or even rivals to the Great Seven.

First, we have Jalblanche. Founded upon the image of a princess with a heart as pure as the whitest snow, whose kindness reached both animals and people as equals.

Their magical stone is 'apple' red.

The characters belonging to this dorm are Neige, Dominic, Gran, Shelpy, Hop, Timmy, Snick and Toby. Ambrose the 63rd is a graduate from this Dorm.

Second, we have Horarium. Based upon the story of the innocent adventurer who kept walking forward without fear, through the Sea of Tears and the Dark Forest.

Their magical stone is blue.

Third, we have Rosauroria. Based upon the figure of a princess who was raised in the forest by fairies, ultimately falling under the curse of an evil witch. Yet even in despair she didn't lose hope, and was awakened by a true love's kiss.

Their magical stone is 'muted' pink.

Fourth, we have Dunasmina. Based upon the image of a wise princess, free of spirit, who saved her kingdom from an evil sorcerer.

Their magical stone is red.

Fifth, we have Marinafinne. Based upon the image of a mermaid princess, so devoted on her love for a human that she abandoned the sea to come and learn how to live in the mainlands.

Their magical stone is green.

Sixth, we have Prevaloir. Based upon the image of a heroine who travelled across withered land, until she found the true king and brought him back home.

Their magical stone is 'sand' yellow.

Seventh, we have Psykeros. Based upon the image of an heroine who, after being betrayed by her lover, met a hero. And despite the pain of betrayal, she learnt how to believe in love again thanks to him.

Their magical stone is 'red' purple.
