Peterâs lips curled into a smile whose nature mocked her frustration. âItâs more than fair. You can spend all day reading and only coming out when absolutely necessary. I donât see what the fuss is.â He loved his sister dearly, he did, but her topics of conversation usually left him bored. âYou? Come with us?â His still smile shifted to a fit of laughter. He threw his head back, the sound only dying once he realized her suggestion was serious. âReally? I didnât actually think youâd want to go visit the centaurs. Not when you seem so comfortable here.âÂ
Just because she was studious, it didnât mean that he could go gallivanting off whenever he wanted and leave her with the day to day work of running the castle. They were a team and they were supposed to do it together. The others could handle that while they were gone. âWell you know what they say about assuming, Peter.â she told him in that voice that he was bound to think annoying. It was the same tone that she used with him or any of her siblings when she was frustrated by them and their general thoughtlessness. âI could use the break from all that reading.â
