Pokemon Go Infodump Log #0001
Pokemon Go has taken over my soul.
Started up again few months ago when I started ADHD meds and had the motivation to go on walks during my lunch break at work. It has since evolved (ha) into me having not only my account, but resurrecting an old account as an alt, AND I use my phone's split-screen to boost my wife's account so we can raid and stuff when we go on walks. In addition after the deluge that was Road to Legends I have had to make a promise to myself to go F2P, which to be fair is probably just a good thing.
It still gets me out and about which I appreciate, and it also gets me more excited to visit new places for those sweet extra buddy hearts. It's a problem, but there are worse to have.
But this isn't about that. Because of my love of listing things (I can't be bothered to follow up on my assessor saying I probably have autism right now I'll get to it), I want to talk about my best Pokemon I have in Go and their nicknames. I'm a devout Tag user, no monster of mine will be named ".98 3* UB ᨏ꩓", no way no how. So here we go. Spoilers for One Piece, yes seriously.
Shundog - In my life for just over a week and this 4* Shiny Crowned Sword Zacian has cemented himself as the crown jewel of my box. His name is Shundo + Dog. He's a shundo and a dog. You get it.
Punk Hazard - White Kyurem was my big chase during last weeks event, being one of my favourite Pokemon ever, possibly my favourite legendary but that's up for debate. He's named after the half magma / half ice island from One Piece. Again, you get it.
Ferro & Carbo - My 2 Melmetal, named after the components of steel, Iron and Carbon.
Astrid - My shiny Dragonite named after the How To Train Your Dargon character, yes, but also after my pet bearded dragon I had as a teenager who sadly passed in 2020. My current one, Ivankov (another One Piece name, go figure) fills her space in my heart
Buckingham - This thing has single-handedly made me like Dawn Wings Necrozma. It is my first Best Buddy as of a few days ago and is named after the One Piece character Buckingham Stussy, the user of the Bat Bat Fruit.
Hori, Verti and Patient Zero - My 2 brand new mega-evolving Mewtwo were named after the X and Y axis respectively, mostly so I can tell which is which in the box. My original Mewtwo, Patient Zero, is moreso named for Mewtwo's origin as an experiment, as well as being (sort of) the first capital L Legendary. Just ignore the birds.
Junior - After I donated my original Tyranitar, who was unnamed until right before the trade where I picked Ol' Reliable, Junior took it's place with much better IVs and got juiced to high heaven on candies. He's named Junior because he's the second one.
Apex - Ah, Mega Rayquaza, truly the meaning of strength. He is, or at least was, the best of the best, and so his name reflects that. Him being my 8th highest CP Pokemon does have a cruel irony though.
Domi & Reversi - BIG One Piece spoilers here just to be safe. Domi and Reversi are my Reshiram, one lucky and one shadow respectively. These are named after Imu's technique, Domi Reversi, which can flip someone to a demonic form that he controls. Originally I was going to give the name Reversi to my best Zekrom, but thought the Shadow Reshiram was cooler.
