Jannis Kounellis, untitled (1980)

In the mid 1970s, Jannis Kounellis began creating installations that consist of pieces of statuary stacked in doorways or on tables and shelves to represent a breakdown of cultural coherence. Untitled evokes the fragmented state of post-World War II Europe.
