AKOTSK Headcanon: Their partner hates having their portrait painted.

Baelor

King Daeron ordered a portrait to celebrate the marriage of his eldest son Prince Baelor and his new partner just weeks after the wedding. At first Baelor thought nothing of it, he had had numerous portraits, he is a prince it comes with the job title. But his partner’s hesitation gives him pause and he grew worried when upon questioning they grew cagey and vague. He decided not to push the matter, fearing that stressing the matter would in turn push them away. Instead he allows you to come to him in your own time.

The night before you are due to sit for your portrait you open up to him, lay together in bed under candlelight you begin to tell him of why they had such a distaste for having your portrait painted. Baelor sets down the book he was reading and turns his whole attention to his partner, listening as you speak about your insecurities and how hard it is to sit there still and think. Especially of how your mind turns over every flaw you have and considers how they will be made obvious and put on display for the realm. He listens quietly and allows them to get everything off them chest, not interrupting you or dismissing your worries.

Once you have finished baring your insecurities to him, he gets to work easing your insecurities and you fall asleep that night to his whispered reassurances. And, the next day when you sit for your portrait, he makes certain that his hand is holding yours so that he may run his thumb over your knuckles when he senses your anxiety.

Maekar

Prince Maekar loathes having his portrait painted, sitting still for hours often while his children cause chaos and leave his ears ringing and his head banging. So when the order comes from his father the King to have a new family portrait commissioned, he assumes your opposition and distaste for the idea to be for much the same reason as his.

It is only when he sees you looking in the mirror that he begins to question your mood. You weren’t just looking in the mirror you were assessing your reflection, letting your eyes rake across your reflection and analyse every inch of it. But it was the slightly downturned frown that was pulling at your lips that worries him. His worry makes him a little heavy handed as he asks what is upsetting you but, he listens intently as you spill your hidden insecurities to him.

Maekar is oddly reassuring once you admit your anxieties, he holds you and whispers sweet nothings, but only after telling you that your being ridiculous and have conjured up every flaw you see in yourself.

Lyonel

Lyonel adores your portraits, he has many one hung up in his private solar opposite his writing desk where he can see it as he works, it has hung there since before your betrothal was formally arranged. It was sent to convince Lyonel and he hung it up himself the very night it arrived.

It is a few years into marriage when he asks for another to be painted, it is when he asks that he notices your hesitation. And that night you speak for hours, well into the night opening up about deep rooted insecurities and come morning you had decided that it was worth facing your anxieties. And, Lyonel sat with you throughout the painting process making you laugh, much to the chagrin of the painter.

Aerion

Aerion does not understand how you could feel insecure. You are his partner. You are his love. You are his, he chose you so of course your beautiful how could you doubt that?

He is furious and confused about this revelation for some time until he realises that not having your portrait painted may be better. He realises this is an opportunity to hoard you beauty like a dragon with gold and neglect the realm of your beauty in portrait form so he bans any portrait from being painted of you.

Valarr

The poor prince is bewildered, he believes you to be the most beautiful person in Westeros and it is unfathomable to him that you could not see that in yourself.

He begins to notice the way in which you judged yourself in the mirror and the way that you dodged around any mention of portraits. He had thought your hesitance in accepting his many compliments had been humility or bashfulness he hadn’t considered you had thought them untrue. To him the evidence of your beauty was unquestionable.

When he saw the downturn in your mood, he wanted to question you and find and irradicate the source, but he didn’t know how. So he sought advice from his father and Baelor told him to tread lightly and not risk pushing you away by being too heavy handed in his approach.

It was late at night in your chambers when he came to you, he carefully crafts the conversation to go in a direction that allows you to be open and comfortable speaking your mind and he does so by confessing his own insecurities. He confesses that the weight of the crown and the realm make him question his worth and his ability to perform his princely duties. His honesty encourages you to be frank and tell him of your worries. Voicing your thoughts lifts a weight from your shoulders but it is Valarr’s showering of love and affection that banishes them from your mind. From then on Valarr takes every small opportunity to reassure and praise you, never allowing enough time for doubt to fester.

Daeron

Summerhall had had a new family portrait commissioned and you had not been yourself since sitting for it, withdrawing into yourself and your chambers until eventually Daeron confronts you asking you to meet him with honesty and allow him to help.

Daeron understands immediately upon hearing your own self-doubt. As he listens to you voice your own self-loathing, he comes to see his own insecurity reflected in you and that terrifies him. He sees you as perfect, untouched from the darkness of his dragon dreams and a light in his tortured existence.

He becomes obsessed with the idea of changing your view of portraits by replacing your memories of them. After a lot of convincing he manages to get you to sit for another portrait but, he would be painting it. Daeron has no great talent for painting but he manages to make you laugh and relax and though the painting is not good it becomes your favourite portrait because of him.

Dunk

Dunk worships his partner he thinks you are breathtaking and the idea that you don’t see that in the mirror baffles him. The first time he had visited the Red Keep he had long stared at your royal portraits and never considered the magnifying glass that puts you under when they are being painted in such detail. He can sympathize with the feeling of insecurity, but he never truly comes to understand why.

But from then on Dunk becomes determined to ensure your days are filled with whispered reassurances, to ensure you always know your worth and never find reason to question it.

A Sleeping Dragon

Daeron Targaryen x fem wife reader Summary: Since finding love Daeron thought the Gods had spared him the worst of his dragon dreams but he was mistaken. Warnings: allusions to death, blood and canon typical violence Sad + angst [1k words] masterlist

Daeron only truly slept when sleep was forced upon him but, that was before you. His loving wife. Your presents does not banish the bad dreams or their haunting memory but your love had ushered in a flood of beautiful dreams of you and your daughter and the future you will share together. Sleeping next to you had made peaceful sleep attainable again for the first time since he was a child.

Tonight through the dreamy haze of sleep he sees you, your face smiling down at him back lit by the golden setting sun. He sees you pulling on his arm trying to pull him towards a hazy blue smear on the edge of his vision, giggling as you struggle against his strength, until he relents and allows you to pull him along. He looks down to see his bare feet in the grass as you pull him towards what he now recognises as the lake that lies on the outskirts of Summerhall’s grounds. The lake where he and his brother went fishing when they where younger and in recent years it has become the backdrop to your relationship. He had asked you to marry by that lake, you both snook out to swim in that lake together the night before your wedding and recently it had been the place your daughter took her first steps, wobbling away from the comfort of your arms and into the safety of his.

He looks up and the beautiful hazy image of you has darkened as the sun hides behind the horizon and he watches as your giggles fade and your face twists into a look of pain.

A scream rips through the air, and he turns to see a man holding a bloody dagger, dripping crimson blood onto the grass next to his feet, the blood pooled under his feet. Though he could not make out the wielders face through the haze of sleep, he just knew it to be a man of smaller build to his own.

Fear grasps him, his heart clenching painfully as he turns to see you gone. Daeron begins to move unconsciously, running, his feet carry him to the lake as he screams your name until his throat feels hoarse thou no sound escapes. His breathing becomes laboured as the lake approaches, the dreamy fog beginning to clear. As the haze falls away from his vision, a human figure draped in white comes into view, a few metres into the lake, half submerged in the water. No. No it cannot be. No. His feet beat against the harsh ground until they are splashing up water.

Ice cold water rushes in around him as he urges himself through the water. He hears a familiar anguished scream rip through the silence of the night. His own scream. He looked upon your face too still, lips blue as you lie at the surface of the water. He reaches out to hold you in the water, arms wrapping around you as he pulls you into him and cradles your limp body against his chest. You are too pale, too cold and too still in his arms.

He hears his father’s voice echo in his ears “We must be strong for the family” as tears stream down his face and disturb the water around you both.

“Daeron” he hears your sweet voice call out to him “Daeron”.

His eyes shoot open, sweat beads on his brow, sticking his dirty blonde hair to his forehead. He slowly takes in the sight of your shared chambers, he felt your presents next to him but couldn’t summon the courage to look at you, instead he focuses his eyes on the red bedding pooled around him, the bedding you embroidered by hand with golden dragon and flower designs. His eyes flicked to the dolls laid on the coffee table in front of the fireplace where your daughter had abandoned them after sleep had overtaken her. As he slowly becomes more lucid, he gathers all his courage and turns to you, drinking you in, the face he fell in love with now contorted in worry. Overcome with relief he grabs and pulls you closer, laying his head on your chest and listening to your heartbeat to soothe himself.

Your concern for him is palpable. “My love…” you sigh, “you’re alright… I’m here…” you bring your hand up to rest it on his head. You begin to card your fingers through his hair, working out the knots in it caused by his restless sleep “it’s just a dream…” you both know it is never just a dream but a dream of what is to come and that thought sends a shiver down his spine. “… we are safe… was it one of those dreams?”  you ask hesitantly, unsure if you truly want the answer.

“Yeah” he manages to force out an answer as his mind swirled around one thought, how can he protect you from fate?

“Do you wish to talk to me about it?” you ask hesitantly, normally the hours following one of his dragon dreams were spent one of two ways, talking about his prophetic visions for hours as though you could unpick the truth behind his cryptic visions or attempting to comfort him through an invisible grief.

“No!” he panics, thinking for a moment that speaking of it may somehow usher it into reality. “No… please just hold me” he says, his voice fragile and breaking as he comes to grips with the images the Gods have forced upon him.

“Well I can certainly do that” you say sweetly attempting to lighten his mood, unsuccessfully. Leaning back against the headboard, you pull him to lie across you in the bed, his head against your chest. The rest of the night and the early hours of the morning until your daughter rises with the sun are spent in content silence. You comfort him, alternating between running your fingers through his dirty blonde hair and drawing patterns on his back with your hand as a strange sort of conflicting grief swirls in his teary blue eyes.

AKOTSK Headcanons: What romantic tropes the AKOTSK men would fit into.

Baelor

Second Chance Romance

Baelor is a man that puts duty before all else and that meant marrying for duty, for the good of the realm, for the good of the King’s political plans and that meant losing the love of his life, a teenage romance that was destined to be left as one of those what if questions that haunts you as you attempt to fall asleep.

But, after decades of dutiful loyalty to separate people, a reunites with his lost love. As a grown matured man with children and a countless list of responsibilities but no less in love or willing to fall head over heels all over again. And the new love he finds later in life allows him to fall into a passionate frivolous love that makes him feel young again.

Maekar

Grump x Sunshine

It’s a little obvious. Deeply rooted insecurity about his place as a forgotten fourth son of the King has left Maekar forcing people away for fear of rejection or disappointment, which has made him the rude, sullen, grumpy Prince of Summerhall in the eyes of the realm.

But finding the right love breaks Maekar out of his shell, breaking him from his self-imposed isolation. Falling for you brings light to his life and brightens Summerhall, making the hollow hall Maekar hated a home he enjoys living in.

Lyonel

Forced Proximity

Lyonel’s love is all lustful yearning and sexual tension. He falls in love before he knows he is in love and the tension comes to a head after your forced to share a bed at an inn. Caught in a thunderstorm they are forced to take refuge in an inn and huddle together in a single bed. The tension during the nigh brings to light new feelings of love and your relationship is forever changed afterwards.

Aerion

Enemies to Lovers

He hates you, he hates anyone that isn’t him or an extension of him, but you were forced together by an arranged marriage. The beginning of the relationship was cold and all interactions with him are filled with vitriol, never remaining in the same room for any length of time without devolving into venomous insults.

It is only after Aerion becomes privy to the attention his partner receives from the lords and knights of the court that his jealousy forces him to confront his own feelings. But even after he has come to that realisation loving him and being loved by him is never easy.

Valarr

Childhood Best Friends

It is a love story that first began as childhood companions, running through the royal gardens at the Red Keep, playing at being knights and princesses and dragon lords. Almost inseparable from infancy, your mother’s close childhood friends themselves. Everyone at court assumes it is a matter of time until wedding bells are rung but it only becomes apparent to Valarr that his feelings reach beyond the bounds of friendship when jealousy ignites desire.

Valarr grows jealous of your proposed marriage prospects after years of oblivious yearning through childhood, hidden beneath the veil of friendship. He watches from the sidelines watching marriage arrangements move into place and sees you entertain suitors half-heartedly, entirely oblivious to the fact his yearning has always been mutual. Watching the two young lovers flounder blind to the others affections is driving the court mad, especially Prince Baelor as he watches his son withdraw into himself, heartbroken.

But after a rallying speech from his father Valarr runs to find you, to admit his affections and break away from the established lines of friendship, only to find you gone, your carriage having left an hour earlier to carry you to your new betrothed.

Throwing caution to the wind and pushing the thought of any consequence to the side, he rallies a horse and chases your carriage, thundering through the rain, pushing his horse to run faster, spurred on by the prospect of losing you. The second he lays eyes on you, walking down the steps from your carriage, uncaring of the rain beating down on you both, all his feelings just come flooding out, the carefully worded speech he had practiced long forgotten as his words muddled together trying to convey the depth of his love to you, only to be cut off by a passionate kiss. The both of you too happy to care for the rain soaking your clothes.

Daeron

Fake Dating

It began as an arrangement to trick the court, to keep unwanted suitors away from you and keep his father off his back. Maekar had been intent of marrying Daeron off as of recent, forcing him in front of young ladies of the court at every opportunity.

You walk together in carefully timed promenades with the intention of being witnessed being together by the court. Though the “fake” dates Daeron was planning slowly became more and more intricate and romantic as attraction grows into affection. Over time the distance narrowed, and the planned displays of affection became warmer and less choreographed as you both began to slot into each other’s perfectly.

Your planned public walks around the royal gardens of the Red Keep became the highlight of his days and it was during one of those walks around the gardens when he steered you towards the rose garden and admitted his affections had grown and his display of love was no longer a performance. His confession in the royal gardens is an understated one, there was no great dramatics, but it was no less meaningful.

Dunk

A knight and a Princess

A fairytale love affair. Dunk the valiant, honourable knight in slightly dirty and muddy armour defending the innocent and inadvertently saving a damsel in distress.

When he sees a pack of horrible men refusing to hear no, he jumps into action, taking his late master’s sword to defend the innocent against unwanted and persistent attention. After the dust has settled and the fight had been won, the valiant Ser Duncan the Tall transforms back into a stuttering flushed knight. Ridiculously flustered for a man of his size, but no less noble or brave.

His stumbled attempts to speak and find the right chivalrous and charming words is cut short by a grateful kiss that begins a fairytale love story fit for a brave knight in shining armour.

about your request for headcanon suggestions, how would they react to having a wife whose birthday was never really remembered by her family, so she’s not used to celebrating it and doesn’t usually make a big deal out of it? sorry, it’s my birthday and my family usually forgets, i just wanted something comforting. :)

Forgotten Namedays

AKOTSK Headcanon: How they react to your family having a pattern of forgetting your nameday or not otherwise celebrting it.

Baelor

When you tell Prince Baelor in the early days of your courtship that you had never truly celebrated your nameday he is disappointed and the more he hears of it the more his anger begins to boil as he hear of how you were made to feel excluded. Though he hides it well in front of you he did not wish to make you feel ill at ease with him so he buries his anger, instead unloading it on an unsuspecting Maekar later.

Baelor becomes obsessed with making your nameday perfect and not only celebrating this day but every day you were deprived of celebration. So when your nameday does roll around Baelor distracts you from the lack of gifts or letters from your family with dates, taking time away from his duties as Hand to the King to spend time with you and take you on dates on the lead up to your nameday. And on the day Baelor wakes with the sun to complete his duties to the King quickly and joins you to break your fast together and gives you the first of a series of expensive, often imported luxury gifts, he showers you with gifts throughout the day and at the end of the day he whispers love confessions to you under candle light, determined to make you understand how loved you are.

Maekar

In the first year of your marriage Summerhall throws a nameday feast in your honour. Maekar is his usual downcast, grumpy self throughout, though you know from the happy, almost giddy way he gifted you jewellery and silk from Lys that morning that he was happy and proud to see you celebrated so joyfully.

Though he is furious upon seeing your family enter, seeing you rush to them only to see them empty handed and slightly dismissive, eager to drink and eat at his expense while devoting little of their attention to you. Even his sons Daeron and Aerion managed to put on a better show of respecting you and giving gifts. He manages to hide his discontent until he sees the way in which it has dampened your mood, your smile not disappearing but certainly dimming at their disinterest. After stewing for some time at the high table he begins forming a plan to brighten your smile again, and two days later he surprised you with a trip to Dorne. He take you to Dorne and shows you Sunspear, introducing you to his family in House Martell and giving you a tour of everywhere him and his brothers would play when they were visiting as children and showing you the water gardens.

Lyonel

It is a well known fact that Lyonel Baratheon loves to party, and he sees no better reason to celebrate than the birth of his love. So for your nameday he lights Storm’s End with thousands of candles, fills the castle with music and floods his halls with risch food and sweet wine for what will be several days of celebration in your name. Lords and ladies from across Westeros are invited and Lyonel pens the invitation to your family home himself, inviting them to a joyful celebration of your nameday, they never attend.

He is confused at their lack of attendance at first, and upon seeing your mood dampen at their noted absence he rushes to reassure you he had invited them, he had penned the letter to your house himself. Hearing you explain it is a common occurrence on your nameday, to see they have forgotten or otherwise show little effort he grows furious, how could they not wish to celebrate you?

He suppresses his fury a to not dampen your joy or destroy the spirit of your nameday feast, instead he distracts himself by partying alongside you, he indulges in wine and dancing with you until the early hours. But his anger never leaves it festers until he next see them.

Aerion

Aerion does not care for your family or your house, so when he consults you over preparations for your nameday feast he has an odd reaction. He does not view you as a member of their house your married to him you are a Targaryen so he sees a slight against you as a slight against him and House Targaryen. But he knows you love and care for them and would not wish to see them harmed.

It annoys him, he cannot kill them, so he banishes them, unofficially, he refuses to invite them and does not wish for them to see you, they have lost all favour with the prince. Instead of turning murderous, Prince Aerion turns all of his attention to you, showering you with expensive gifts, silks and jewels from Lys and the richest, flashiest gold pieces.

Valarr

He doesn’t notice their disinterest you have to tell him, you tell him when he comes to you asking for your opinions on his seating plan for your nameday feast. Forget? You? How? Lover boy is thoroughly confused and deeply upset on your behalf when you tell him rather flippantly about your family’s track history when it comes to celebrating your nameday.

He doesn’t notice the lack of letters from your family on the lead up to the big day, he is too busy balancing his duties to the realm and his preparations for your nameday. Valarr worships his love and sees your nameday as the greatest excuse to publicly shout his love from the rooftops for the realm to hear. He worships you, showering you with expensive, personalised gifts that show his deep love and affection for you and act as a physical reminder of it. And though his time is often eaten up by duty, Valarr forgoes the responsibilities and duties of the heir’s heir, throwing his princly façade aside for you, to dedicate time for you on your nameday.

Daeron

Daeron sees you crying, upset over a letter you received from your family. He runs to comfort you and allows you to open up, he listens intently while you explain their history of forgetting your nameday or just not bothering to celebrate you when they do and they had once again failed to wish you well on your nameday. Daeron is heartbroken to see it is your own family that has caused you hurt but he is immensely understanding he also understands how complicated families can be, not having a particularly good relationship with his own family, especially his father.

After cheering you up Daeron decides to surprise you with a date, celebrating your nameday together, alone away from court life and away from distractions from each other. You celebrate with good food and imported sweet wine and a selection of your favourite cakes in a flower field away from family and politics.

Dunk

Poor sweet Dunk cannot understand your family, he is bewildered by the fact they have something as sweet and valuable as you, but they forget to celebrate you. Though he does not voice his disappointment he does not wish to make you feel worse, though his concern is written across his face for all to see.

Instead he distracts you with constant and genuine affection and reassurance, he wishes more than anything to be able to afford to shower you with all the riches of the known world. Was he as rich as a Lannister you would want for nothing, but he makes do with what he has, and his every action is done with overwhelming devotion. On your nameday he cooks you a special meal over the fire, having saved up to get the best cuts of meat and the freshest vegetables especially for the day and, collects flowers for you, hand picking wildflowers and tying them together with twine to make you a humble but beautiful bouquet and for days before your nameday when you were sleeping he carefully carves out a little wooden trinket by hand and surprises you with it, blushing wildly when he gifts it to you.

Yearning for your Affection

AKOTSK Headcanons: How they become needy or desperate for your affection and attention.

Baelor

Baelor tries to hide his neediness, he supresses his need for your love and affection when the two of you are in public. He is a very physically affectionate man and would be lying if he said he did not want to be the centre of all of your love and attention.

In the safety and privacy of your shared chambers he is very physically affectionate, he particularly adores when after a long day of leading the realm when you dismiss the servants and help him bathe yourself, massage the knots out of his neck and shoulders. Or when you run your fingers through his hair while laying in bed together, recounting the days events, the significant and the mundane. Your shared chambers are your sanctuary.

But you are very aware of his neediness and you use it to tease him, when sat together in council or petitions or talking to visiting lords. Your both putting on a composed royal front, you will run a hand over his leg or intertwine your fingers with his or, when your feeling particularly cruel you whisper something very impolite for a royal in his ear. Since marrying him you have learnt that showing small gentle affections to him in public undoes him beautifully.

“When I get you back to our rooms…”

Maekar

Maekar yearns in secret, he yearns for your attention and affections but hides it away beneath a grumpy mask of indifference. He pretends to be a grumpy, angry prince in the public eye but he is secretly a softy that melts under the weight of your affection in private.

When he was first named the Prince of Summerhall he had thought it an insult, that he was to be pushed aside, living in the royal summer home in the Stormlands far from court. Summerhall became a dreary dark place under his leadership but, your presents made it a brighter safer space for your relationship to blossom.

But even still he preferred to keep the depths of your relationship confined within the privacy of your chambers. his favourite moments with you are hidden behind the closed doors of your shared bedchambers, particularly when you both lay down with his head on your chest as you brush your fingers through his silver blonde hair, as he bares his heart to you, finding sanctuary in your affection.  

Lyonel

Lyonel, the Laughing Storm has no issue wearing his needy earning for you publicly. It is a rare sight to see the Lord of Storm’s End without his partner, he reaches for you in every room and is only truly at peace when your attention is fully on him.

He adores your attention and does grow very jealous whenever your attention is diverted. He yearns for your affection so openly, not shying away from physical affection publicly, keeping you in arms reach, always with a hand on yours, or on the base of your spine or on your upper thigh at feasts.

Dean Di Laurentis x fem reader

Summary: The one where famous womanizer and hockey player Dean Di Laurentis forgets how to flirt when confronted by a cute shy girl.

Your life at Briar U had been a game of survival so far. You had three main goals:

1. maintain good enough grades to keep your mother off your back

2. keep your head down

3. stay out of drama

And, though that first one was almost impossible you had grown content with your quiet life at Briar, until he came charging into it.

He could not be less like you. Dean Di Laurentis was the popular, charming, wealthy hockey player. A player on and off the ice. Di Laurentis is the womanizer of Briar U, known to have a new woman on his arm at every party, using his position as defenseman on the hockey team and his movie-star looks he has successfully seduced almost every woman that has caught his eye since stepping foot on campus.

Your mother’s words on the phone last night, during your weekly check ins, were still ringing in your ears. Well good just isn’t good enough. You had been ranting to your roommate Maya for most of the morning, so much so you were now running late for class. Though despite your time constraints you had made the decision that coffee was still a requirement, and that decision left you racing across campus, juggling your books and your coffee.

Dean was running across the campus, his hockey bag hitting against his upper thigh as he jogged to catch up to his friends.

“Hey, Cassanova” Dean sniggers, throwing his arm over Tucker’s shoulders. His sports bag slammed into his upper thigh from its place slung over his left shoulder, as he slowed to match pace with the other boys, his cheeks slightly flushed from his short run and the chill of the autumn air.

“Please don’t,” Tucker rolls his eyes, “it was not that bad” he whines.

“It was quite bad” Garrett says quietly, suppressing a chuckle.

Logan lightly elbowed Tuckers ribs, grinning “you crumbled”.

“I did not crumble” Tucker whines, though the corners of his mouth turned up in a half smile.

Dean scoffs, his lips curling into a deeply amused grin, “no you were just stuttering for the fun of it” he says, moving forward and turning around to face his friends, keeping pace them while walking in reverse as he mimics the way that Tucker stumbled over a pick-up line the night before at Malone’s.

“She was pretty” Tucker admitted, a flush creeping up his neck.

Dean scoffs playfully.

“Oh like you’ve never fumbled a girl before.” Tucker says incredulously.

Dean shrugs that annoying arrogant smirk plastered across his face still, “what can I say the ladies find me irresistible.”

Dean was soaking in the faux annoyed looks his friends were throwing him when a high-pitched squeak broke him from his thoughts, someone crashing into him from behind and spilling hot coffee across his back. He spun around ready to scold his attacker when he sees a girl splayed out on the floor holding the back of her head as she stared at the coffee thrown everywhere, soaking through him, her and the plethora of papers strewn across the floor.

The girl only buffered for a moment before jumping into action, picking up her papers and hastily attempting to clear the coffee of them and roughly stack them. Dean crouched down muttering apologies as he grabbed the last of her papers, handing them to her and picking up the now empty to go cup. “It’s okay” she murmured shyly as shed glanced up, her eyes meeting his for the first time. Damn she’s cute.

“Hey” Dean drawls, a seductive glint in his eye as he turns on the charm, a lazy grin stretching across his face.

“Hello” she says softly, averting her gaze and rushing to stand up, gripping her now coffee stained papers in her arms. Dean slowly rises trying to meet her eye again but failing as she shied away from his gaze. His mind started flipping through a mental rolodex of pick-up lines, trying to decipher the right combination of charming and flirtatious while not overdoing it and risking scaring the shy beauty off. However, before he can drop the perfect line she sped away from him, fleeing the scene without so much as a second look in his direction.

Dean stares for a moment at her back for a moment dumbfounded.

“You were saying…” Tucker drawls cockily.

“Who-who is that?” Dean asks, pointlessly pointing in the direction she fled, his eyes still on her retreating figure.

“I think Hannah might know her,” Garett shrugs as he moves to walk around him.

Logan clapped his hand on Dean’s shoulder as he and Tucker move to walk past him, “happens to the best of us” he says amused by the lovesick look on Dean’s face. They would stay and see the embarrassing aftereffects of Cupid’s arrow, but they didn’t wish to face the consequences of being late to hockey practice… again, instead they left Dean to pine.

She was gone out of sight now, obscured by the drama building, leaving Dean standing in the quad still holding your empty coffee cup. He looked down at the disposable cup to see her name and coffee order written on the side of it and, as he began following the boys he decided that this was just attempt the first attempt.

The next day Dean strides into room 204, armed with a flat white, confidence emanating off of him, determined to get the girl. He had been rehearsing what he was going to say, running through his lines on the walk over here. But he falters at the front of the lecture hall, as he scans over the rows of unfamiliar faces, not seeing the cute coffee girl he had been thinking about. Maybe Hannah was mistaken? Maybe this was the wrong room? Or the wrong class?

“Um..” Dean clears his throat, causing several confused faces to look at him, “this is American Lit 2 right?” Dean asks hesitantly, only to be met with confused silence and a few small nods. Several girls near the front were obviously eyeing him and he catches them whispering, likely wondering what Dean Di Laurentis was doing standing in their lecture hall.

“Yeah it is” guy with round wire framed glasses says catching Dean’s attention.

Dean moved towards him saying, “I’m looking for someone…” his voice trailing off as he said her name, slowly losing confidence in his mission.

“Oh um… I think she is running late…” the guy offers hesitantly, clearly confused by how you and Dean Di Laurentis are linked. He eyes Dean silently for a moment, seeing how he sighs a little defeated, looking at the coffee cup in his hand before he says, “she usually sits there…” while pointing at a seat just in front of him on the third row, near to a girl with colourful stationary neatly laid out on the desk in front of her.

Dean’s face lights up slightly as he moves over to place the coffee cup on the desk in front of the seat the guy pointed at, Dean turns to the girl sat nearby “hey, excuse me…” Dean says hesitantly hyper aware of the stare he was receiving, “could I borrow a post-it?” he asks pointing softly at one of her stacks of brightly coloured post-it notes. The girl nods enthusiastically, smiling at him mildly amused, handing him a bright pink post-it note and a pen. Dean thanks her relieved before scribbling a message on it and adding his phone number to the end, before sticking the post-it to the coffee cup and thanking the girl again as he hands her pen back and rushes out of the lecture hall, already late to his own class across campus.

It had been two days with not text or call from the coffee girl and it had been weighing on him, he had never found himself this eager to talk to a girl, so when Dean next saw her, across the quad from him, sat under a tree reading he couldn’t help himself.

She looked so peaceful, the sun shining on her hair, she was biting her lip in thought as he approached her, jogging over, ignoring his friends hollering as they tried to pull him into some drinking game they wanted to play in Malones that night.

The thought did briefly occur to him that you may not wish to be bothered by him but, before he could stop and turn around, she looked up and he met your eyes again. Suddenly feeling very flustered by her piercing gaze he stumbles over his words as he asks, “Hey, um did you get the coffee I left for you?” he was certain a deep red blush was creeping up his neck from the way you were looking at him from beneath your eyelashes.

“oh… um yeah I did, thank you, you didn’t need to do that for me” you say awkwardly, flustered by his attention and the way that people were staring at the two of you likely looking for new gossip.

“I owed you” he says quickly, nervously scratching his neck.

“Thanks” you say quietly, looking down, not being able to meet his eye, too intimidated by his Hollywood gaze.

Dean nervously shuffles his feet for a moment before stumbling to say “so … um I was wondering if you would maybe like to get coffee with me or-” he was interrupted by a booming laugh across the quad. He turned around to see his friends, Tucker and Garrett were play wrestling, with Logan and Beau standing on the side trying to control their laughter. Beau turned to see Dean staring at them and called out to him “Dean” Come on man! You’ve got a bet to win.”

But Dean ignored them, brushing them off to turn his attention back to his coffee girl but, when he turned you were gone and he was left standing there in the quad alone again.

The library was quiet, you had gone with Gigi and Hugh to cram in some more studying before your final, having only just shut them up from gossiping about you and Dean Di Laurentis. It had taken the better part of an hour to pull them and Maya away from the note that Dean had left you and they had still not stopped their attempts to get you to call him. But you refused, too embarrassed by the way you ran away after your last conversation.

Initially you saw him out of the corner of your eye, catching a glimpse of his golden blonde hair beneath the fluorescent lights. You look up at him shocked, as he leans awkwardly against one of the bookshelves pretending to read an upside-down book. You looked over at your friends to find Gigi’s jaw hanging loose and Hugh’s eyes twinkling with amusement behind his wire framed glasses.

You look back at the hockey player in time to meet his eyes as he glances over to you. Upon meeting your eye he smiles, “hey” he says quietly.

“Hello” you reply confused, “are you stalking me?”

“What no, no… no” he panics, “I just came to … to study” he says awkwardly, trying to maintain his charming façade.

You look up to the sign above his head trying to supress your laugh, “…in the erotica section?”

“What?” he looks up to the sign above his head reading erotica and a deep red blush starts creeping up his neck. He looks back at you bashfully, laughing awkwardly, all of that playboy charm falling away. “No” he says again softly under his breathe laughing bashfully.

“I just wanted an excuse to talk to you,” he admits shyly, reaching his hand up to rub the back of his neck.

“To talk to me?” you ask taken aback.

“Yeah”

“Why?”

“I just couldn't…” he says getting interrupted by the librarian Mrs. Bryn aggressively shushing him from her place at her desk a couple metres away. “Sorry, sorry” Dean whispers, ducking his head as though that will make him quieter. He takes a seat at your desk opposite you across the table, “I just couldn’t stop thinking about you” he whispers.

Your brow pulled together in confusion, you did not expect this sincerity from him, he seemed so genuine and shy.

“Well… what do we do now?” you chuckle shyly.

He goes back to rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, as he quietly suggested, “well, I don’t want to get in the way of your studying but, …. maybe I could get your number?” he asks hopefully before rushing to add, “for better book recommendations, of course”

“Of course” you reply slyly before pulling his phone towards you.

“Wait really” Dean says too loudly, prompting another round of aggressive shushing while you enter your number in his phone. He sends you a quick message saying hi so you could save his number

“Thank you, …um I’ll leave you to your studying, now” he says quietly, standing up from the table.

“Yeah, you gotta get back to your reading” you smirk, gesturing with your head towards the erotica section, making him laugh and earning him a stern glare from Mrs. Bryn.

“Sorry” Dean whispers while awkwardly dismissing himself and nearly running into a bookshelf as he leaves.

When he is gone you can hear Maya and Hugh struggling to supress their laughter, “what the hell” Maya mouths to you as you turn to her, you don’t even know what just happened really so you just shrug smirking and go back to studying.

That evening when you returned to your dorm and turned your phone back on you were met with a new text from Dean.

Stalker: So um, about that coffee date?

Coffee Girl: Hmmm, depends do you promise not to throw it on me this time?

Stalker: That was one time 😒

Stalker: But I’m not complaining about it because I got to meet you

hiii! i saw that you were asking for headcanon requests, and i came up with a couple of ideas in case you'd like to write about them (or tweak them however you want to fit your style)!

how would they react if they found out the reader was about to be evicted, struggling with overdue bills, or dealing with financial problems of that sort, and never told them about it? i feel like this could work both in modern and within the show's setting, depending on how you'd like to adapt it!

the reader has a life story very similar to tyron's: her mother died giving birth to her, her family has always looked down on her, and despite being beautiful and coming from a powerful house, she's mostly seen as a tool for political alliances. because of that, she's married off to a targaryen to strengthen ties between their families. after some time passes and no pregnancy happens, her father starts pressuring her to produce an heir and says some truly cruel and disgusting things to her. how would her husband react to overhearing his wife being belittled and insulted by her own father? (i can only picture maekar absolutely breathing fire in that situation.)

how would they react to having a wife who's afraid of thunderstorms? whenever there's heavy rain, thunder, or lightning, she struggles to sleep, becomes anxious, and feels on edge throughout the entire storm. how would they handle noticing her fear for the first time, and what would they do to comfort her during sleepless nights?

how would they react to realizing that their wife draws them, writes about them in her journals, or includes them in her prayers to the seven? perhaps they only find out by accident and discover just how often she thinks about them when they aren't around.

how would they react to discovering that their wife still blushes and gets flustered whenever they compliment her? even after years of marriage, she never seems to get used to hearing kind words from them and always reacts as though it's the first time.

how would they react if their wife became unusually irritable and short-tempered due to stress? she's juggling too many responsibilities at once and eventually reaches her breaking point, accidentally lashing out at them despite loving them deeply.

how would they react when their fiercely independent and competitive wife gets injured after refusing to sit on the sidelines? having grown up with several brothers, she's spent her entire life trying to keep up with them and hates being treated differently because she's a woman. unfortunately, her determination sometimes gets her into trouble.

how would they react to having a stubborn and slightly spoiled wife who does whatever she wants, whenever she wants? whether she was raised as the beloved daughter of a powerful lord who could never refuse her anything, or spent her childhood neglected and only grew comfortable enough to be openly demanding after marriage, she has become accustomed to getting her way. at some point, her husband realizes he may have spoiled her far too much... unfortunately, he's still hopelessly in love with her.

how would they react when they realize their wife hates being painted? not because she dislikes artists or attention, but because she genuinely cannot understand why anyone would want to preserve her image. she believes there is nothing remarkable or beautiful enough about her to be worthy of a portrait.

how would they react when their pregnant wife insists she can still do everything on her own, despite clearly needing rest? no matter how many times she's told to slow down, she refuses to sit still and continues pushing herself far beyond her limits.

how would they react to discovering that their pregnant wife has learned how to weaponize her pregnancy? whether it's getting out of obligations, convincing them to buy her gifts, changing plans at the last minute, or winning every argument with a well-timed pout and a hand on her belly, she knows exactly how much power she holds, and she's not afraid to use it.

how would they react to a wife who becomes incredibly stubborn whenever she's ill? whether it's isolating herself from the family to prevent anyone else from catching her sickness or refusing to rest despite clearly feeling awful, she insists on taking care of everyone except herself. what would happen when they finally realize how sick she truly is and decide they've had enough of her protests?

AKOTSK headcanons: what are their love languages?

Baelor

Gift Giving – Baelor picks up on small things you say and he surprises you with small gifts, for example if you briefly mention liking a particular perfume or scent, he remembers and surprises you with it a few days later.

Acts of Service – he doesn’t get much free time away from his duties as Prince and Hand to the King but, he likes to make a point of doing small things for you, to make your life easier, like bringing you food to make sure your eating when your busy with your duties.

Maekar

Words of Affirmation – Maekar needs a lot of reassurance from his partner, he needs to hear you tell him you love him and reassure him of your devotion. Maekar only ever verbalises his love privately, he confesses his devotion behind closed doors.

Physical Touch – he is a very possessive man he feels a need to always have a hand on you, either holding your hand or a hand placed securely on your lower back or thigh.

Lyonel

Physical Touch – Lyonel is always all over you, he always has a hand on you in public, a hand on the small of your back leading you or placed on your upper thigh when sat next to you. He revels in your reciprocated touch, especially when you kiss too publicly and too passionately for Westerosi standards.

Aerion

Gift Giving – Aerion showers you with expensive gifts, rich fabrics, expensive perfumes, imported foods and wines and jewellery. Especially if they are in Targaryen colours or have dragon motifs, he likes the way that it claims you as his.

Valarr

Physical Affection – Valarr conveys his love through soft lingering touches, his touch is shy when in public but he is always reaching for your touch. In public he is constantly holding your hand or guiding your hand to the crook of his arm.

Words of Affirmation – he dotes on you and though he is a busy man with his princely duties keeping him from you he makes sure to use your time together to tell you how loved you are.

Daeron

Quality Time – Daeron wants to be with you constantly, he sees you and your time together as a reprieve from his dragon dreams, so he loves to surprise you with dates, preferably dates away from court, where you can speak freely without the pressure of courtly politics.

Dunk

Acts of Service – Dunk dotes on you and loves doing small things for you to protect you and to make your life a little easier, he is constantly asking if you feel comfortable and doing all he can to ensure your comfort and safety, in a way that makes you feel loved.

AKOTSK headcanons: How they impress you.

Baelor

Baelor would definitely make a point of learning about your hobbies and interests. Baelor never planned on remarrying after losing Jena, until he met you and he was very daunted by the idea of courting someone again, especially someone who is significantly younger than him. He becomes insecure about his age, not seeing himself as being as desirable as the younger lords that lust after you so, he focuses more on showing how alike you are by bonding over the things you like. He focuses more on being a match for you intellectually and showing respect for you and the things you hold dear.

Maekar

Maekar showers you with small but expensive gifts that reflect you hobbies and interests. He struggles to open up to you and say he loves you but the way in which he listens to you and surprises you with thoughtful little gifts and trinkets shows you his love for you. You need only mention it once and you will have it. Maekar definitely uses his position as a Targaryen prince to ensure your every whim and wish is met and that all of his gifts to you are of the highest quality and tailored to fit your tastes.

Lyonel

Lyonel loves a party and he loves to see you let your hair down and enjoy yourself, so he definitely throws parties, feasts and tourneys in order to catch your attention. He ensures that all of his celebrations are to your liking, with lavish decorations in both his house colours and your favoured colours and styles and has the best chefs available make all of your favourite dishes and has your favourite sweet wines imported from Dorne. Only the best of the best for you, to catch your eye. Once you are courting, he uses any small excuse to have a celebration in your honour, to flaunt his wealth and impress you.

Aerion

During your courtship, Aerion showers you with expensive, lavish gifts in hopes of impressing you and proving his love to you. He spares no expense on you buying you his favourite expensive wines and gold jewellery with dragon designs and he buys you outfits he wants to see on you made of rich fabrics, in Targaryen colours. He showers you with gifts and attention but only in a way that suits him and his tastes.

Valarr

Loverboy makes a point of training in the yard when he knows you will be passing by, and he starts showing off, pulling out all of his most impressive moves and flexing, trying to look good for you when you walk past. Catching your eye from the yard and smiling giddily when your eyes linger on him a little longer than usual. He also makes a point of researching your interests so that he can start a conversation about it and impress you with his knowledge. He loves nothing more than seeing you become excited about something and speak passionately about something your interested in and bonds with you over it.

Daeron

Daeron takes you on thoughtful dates, he sees the way in which other lords at court recite poetry and force you to awkwardly but politely smile and nod along as they serenade you with little interest in what you want to do. So Daeron takes you out, away from the court to do things that you both enjoy, he teaches you to fish and makes a picnic for you both to enjoy with all of your favourite foods and shows you the countryside of Westeros you had previously not experienced. It is only a bonus to him that it means your away from the other lords at court.

Dunk

Despite himself Dunk asks Egg for advice on how to win you over, on how to impress you. And Egg simply says, “I don’t know… ladies like flowers” and Dunk took that to heart. He makes a point of gifting you flowers weekly, he handpicks them himself, choosing the prettiest and healthiest wildflowers and trying them together with a ribbon, the bow a little haphazard but no less adorable.

AKOTSK headcanons: When you get jealous.

Aerion

It was not often you found yourself being the jealous one in the relationship, typically Aerion was the hot headed jealous one and you found yourself being careful who you let yourself look at too long. It was unusual for the roles to be reversed.

At any other feast Aerion would have been by your side making snide comments about courtiers and insulting lords at the table, his temper only vaguely reigned in by your presents beside him. But, Aerion had seemed quite entranced by the young Lady Velaryon for the past hour. You did not know what they were discussing but Aerion seems quite fired up by it, gesturing wildly with his hands, his attention fully turned towards her.

You could feel the faint flames of envy burning in your stomach but choose instead to turn your attention away from your husband, just in time for your brother-in-law Egg to come bounding over to you, rambling about how he had managed to steal extra honey cakes from the desert table when his father’s head was turned. His childlike joy successfully distracted you from your jealousy, and twenty minutes later you and little Egg were dancing without a care to the music you had almost entirely forgotten about your husband.

But, as you and Egg spun around to your third song the small boy suddenly, a slightly anxious expression gracing his small face before he hurriedly bowed, excusing himself and disappearing back into the crowd of dancers. Just as you were about to follow after him you heard a sly voice in your ear, “You shouldn’t entertain him my dragon” Aerion drawled into your ear.

“Leave him be husband he is just a boy,” you say turning to face Aerion, his eyes lighting up as you meet his gaze, despite the slightly unnerving, arrogant smirk he always wears.

He rolls his eyes as he brings you into his arms harshly, “you shouldn’t waste your time on the brat.”

You hate when he speaks of is siblings like this, Egg was a good boy, he had never done anything to earn his brother’s cruelty. But, instead of arguing back you pull away saying, “well you were too busy with Lady Velaryon to dance with me” despite knowing better you roll your eyes, though Aerion’s smirk only widened.

“Jealousy looks good on you, my dragon.”

Valarr

There are many words you could use to describe Valarr but oblivious was not typically one of them he was very adept at reading social cues and handling delicate interactions with courtiers but when it came to flirting the poor boy is blind. He has only ever had eyes for you throughout your betrothal and marriage, so the thought of flirting with someone else or someone else flirting with him has never crossed his mind.

So he often accidentally fuels a jealousy inside of you, he was getting slightly better at spotting romantic intentions, but when Lady Hightower approached him under the guise of discussing religious reform, he became oblivious to the flirtatious touches and the bedroom eyes she was throwing his way, too concentrated on the conversation at hand.

But, you noticed, you saw the way her arm draped itself over his and how she fluttered her eyelashes up at him and pouted her lips. Every flirtatious touch that was met with indifference fuelled the burning coals of jealousy in your belly. But, when Valarr’s mismatched eyes meet yours across the hall and his face lights up with a big goofy smile pulling at his lips you can’t help but laugh at your oblivious prince.

Lady Hightower says something to pull his attention back to her, but he decides the conversation is no longer of interest to him and he politely dismisses himself. Valarr crosses the hall with haste, his goofy smile never falling as he approaches you.

Upon reaching you he immediately pulls you into a rather un-princely kiss, too passionate to be deemed socially acceptable for a Targaryen prince but, it did wonders to extinguish the flames of your jealousy.

Daeron

Daeron did not really get jealous so much as he became depressed, he thinks of you as his lifeline, his light that grounded him when his dreams threatened to take him away, so when a courtier pays you too much attention, he starts spiralling. It isn’t often that the shoe is on the other foot.

But now it is, your walking into the dining room when you see a lady you don’t know and are almost certain Daeron does not know sat next to your husband. She is rambling to his while he looks deeply disinterested and hungover, his bored expression might have made you laugh if you hadn’t seen her reach out a hand and tuck a strand of his dirty blonde hair behind his ear.

Daeron levels her with a confused look and huffs before leaning back in his chair, putting more space between him and her but that did little to quell your anger and, within seconds you found yourself stomping across the dining hall to your husband and this mystery husband. Sensing your arrival the two look up at you, adoration sparking in Daeron’s eyes at the sight of his angry partner, a small lazy smirk pulling at his lips. The woman had the sense to jump to her feet and bow before hurriedly excusing herself from the dinning hall.

“Jealousy becomes you” Daeron drawls tiredly.

“I am not jealous,” you say angrily as you heave yourself into the chair next to him, your brow still scrunched in anger.

He rose his hands in surrender, his easy smirk still plastered across his face, clearly amused by your jealous display. He said nothing else about it but, his hand grasped yours reassuringly beneath the table as the other dinner guests began to file in.

Dunk

Poor Dunk is completely oblivious to any romantic advances, you practically had to spell out that you liked him. So despite it being a common occurrence he never knows when a woman is flirting with him, which has certainly raised your blood pressure since you started dating him.

It was a common occurrence to come down the stairs in whatever inn you were finding shelter in that night to find Dunk obliviously maintaining what he believes to be innocent small talk with the inn keeper’s wife or daughter, blind to the way in which she angles her chest to give him a good view down her dress, or the sultry way in which she asks if there’s anything he needs.

“She was flirting with you” you inform him sitting down and that table next to him.

“No… no she was just being friendly that’s all”

“Yes real friendly” you scoff. But, try as you might you couldn’t stay mad at him, not when he is looking at you with that lost, doe eyed look.
