I just came across this word and I thought it might mean a thing that I’m looking for to describe the ostensibly straight partner of someone who is actually non-binary. But it looks like maybe it’s more of a thing that enbies themselves might be? I would like if I could give my straightish mlw/mlnb husband a new word to describe his new orientation. He thinks he should get to be part of the queer community now but also feels pretty straight. Heteroflexible is the best we got so far. He’s always been attracted to masculine to balanced minds in female to androgynous bodies (with ladybits). He’s had more than the average guy’s relationships (and crushes) with people who turned out to be lesbians. Can he be strayt?

Rob Nunn wrote an excellent article that I swear is so beautiful that I teared up a bit while reading it.  It is glorious and I can not agree harder.

Rob Nunn is an author and a scholarly Sherlockian who cares about Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle and the original Sherlock Holmes stories, in addition to enjoying the many adaptions there may be. I cannot agree hard enough with this article and it just gets better the further along it goes.  His wife is wise.

If a cis actor is going to play a trans character, it should be a cis actor of the correct gender

I have never seen a cis man play a cononically trans man or a cis woman play a cononically trans woman, but you do see cis men play trans women, and at least one cis woman play a trans man (Bridget Everett as Al in Little Evil). Trans actors should play these roles but If for some reason it was hard to find one that fit your casting requirement, why not keep in mind that trans women are women and trans men are men, and cast accordingly?
