âŠNow he felt a little dumbfounded. Sure they were the Nightmares in dreams, but they were also in reality thanks to Sandmanâs sand being manipulated by Pitch Black. He formed a frown on his face, but it quickly went away soon after hearing her next question.
ââŠIâm from⊠a faraway land~.â he said, giving her the teasing tone while spreading his arms out. He was from Earth, but she was talking about all this⊠Aspio stuff. He hasnât seen that on Earthâs map on the globes back at home, not the he knew of anyway.
Speaking of Aspio, there she goes again, talking about it. Mage⊠well, Jack was close with the magician thing, although he figured it wasnât the same thing he was trying to imply. He raised a brow, trying to figure this all out. Nothing rang a bell, a hint of confusion was written all over his face. He didnât even recognize it in any storybooks heâs read.
Oh, so that necklace wasnât just for show. Weird, girls are weird, he thought, knowing better than to say it out loud.
âAdeâŠâ Jack crossed his arms and looked at the ground. Heâs lived for hundreds of years, how did he not hear of any of this? And⊠saving the world? Now what was she ranting about? He shouldâve been called for saving the world, if anything. He was a Guardian, after all.
âN-no⊠it isnât. I⊠erâŠâ he backed into the window. Even though it was frosty from earlier, it started to become frostier now. âLook, somethingâs not right here. Weâre uh⊠we sound⊠different from each other.â he nodded, confirming his answer and looking back at her. âPower source? Where Iâm from, we didnât have that. Not everyone had powers. Only the Guardians did, and spirits⊠donât tell me you donât have spirits? All this monster talkâIâm sure you have some sort of spirits, right?â he tilted his head, staring at her with his blue eyes.
âAnd⊠how can you see me? You shouldnât be able to see me. You believe in me? That must be it. Youâre a strong believer, for someone your age.â he had a look of relief and sudden realization on his face as he examined her again. It was hard to tell if he was joking about the whole belief thing or not at this point.  He mightâve mentioned this before to her, but he was just glad that people here could see him, and thatâs all that mattered. He was actually starting to like this place, really, minus all the weird stuff thatâs happened so far.
A faraway land... Seriously? Course she's not dense to miss the joking tone of his voice, arms crossed and a roll of her eyes to follow. Just as long as he hasn't got any plans to never take her seriously, she could probably deal with that. Weird as this guy is at least he didn't seem like a pervert like the old man or a stupid flirt like that guy she'd met a short while back. Whatever his name was. Sharing a household's never  to be deemed a good thing by her standards, but the guy could've been worse. She just has to keep telling herself that so she doesn't get too angry about it-- And tell him to never touch her stuff at all, ever.
Watching him carefully to see this guy can't even pronounce it. "The Adephagos," she says again, scrutiny upon features. A worldwide disaster and he hadn't heard about it? Impossible. Unless she really has died that long ago... No, she should've died at least a hundred years ago - which she had thought impossible - for this guy not to have heard anything about it, unless he was an orphan living under a rock or he'd never been told anything about the world's history. Then again, he could've come from a completely different world; thinking about herself appearing in this realm after death (if she really was dead, which she hadn't exactly the right proof to say for certain save for those little freaks' claims)... maybe the concept's not entirely impossible.
Scrutiny even more evident upon features when he backs into the window, and again it's covered in frost. It's as though anything he surrounds himself with gets frozen, it really is nothing like the spells she's able to cast. Nothing like she's seen anyone ever do before, either.
"Spirits? Yeah, of course I do." Wondering how this guy had possibly known about them when she'd been the one to develop a way to summon their forms into the real world. But if he knew nothing of the Adaphagos she's certain he'd know nothing about the Entelexeia or their apatheia--it'd just be a waste of time. She's almost certain now... This guy's probably come from a different world entirely. "Different from each other?" She sighs. "You should've just answered my first question to begin with. Then we wouldn't be confusing the hell out of each other like this."
"Just...tell me where you're from. Now." Seriousness upon expression, though she's confused yet again at the words leaving this guy's mouth. Just what the hell is he going on about now?
"Believe in you," Tone the very reflection of the risen conclusion--this guy's probably crazy, isn't he? "You've gotta be kidding me. Do I have to believe in you in order to see you? Geez, I don't even know you!"
