Oh, this is really neat, this is the same thing they did in Sh! The Octopus in 1937 to do this transformation scene. In black & white, the color of your light can hide makeup, then all you have to do is flip the color, and the audience just sees the difference in the light levels, but cannot see the color shift. The quick explanation for why this works is the blue makeup absorbs red light, looking very dark when only red light is present, but also looks about the same as relatively fair skin when only blue light is present. Same goes for the colors the other way.

your bare minimum isn’t actually that bare or minimum. my dad once told me that there’s nothing in this world that’s easy and that’s true tbh. everything we do takes energy, time, and effort. even the little things. if you feel like you’re not doing enough please try to think about your circumstances and what’s currently available to you: chances are, there’s something that’s diverting or otherwise draining you. and to pull away from that and get something done regardless? well, i think that’s really admirable! please try to take pride in the things you do accomplish in a day, no matter how small or trifling you perceive them to be. you can’t be proud of your growth if you don’t notice where you already are!

Adaar (Dragon Age Inquisition) - the animation scaling means her hip sway is even more exaggerated. Her ass is a pendulum that breaks all concentration. As a lesbian I’m mesmerised, but as a feminist I have my concerns. 1/5 

Evie Frye (Assassin’s Creed Syndicate) - Swift and lithe animation. This lady runs with deadly grace and she’ll cane you in the face six ways to Sunday, but her walk still has unnecessary hip sway. 4/5 good effort

Lithariel (Shadow of Mordor) - No hip sway to speak of. Fluid yet aggressive animation. Excellent top-notch swagger. I would pay another $80 just to watch this flawless woman kill orcs. 5/5

Ciri (Witcher 3) - Hip sway still evident, but not so distracting that I can’t notice anything else. Her steps are too tiny. Someone free her shoulders, dear god. Let the girl swagger. 3/5

Lone Survivor (Fallout 4) - this woman longs to break free of the Bethesda engine. Todd Howard personally rammed a stick up her rectum. Save her. 2/5

Lara Croft (Rise of the Tomb Raider) - this girl is a jogger. She bobs around in place like that runner waiting to cross the street. Her running is joyless and the camera still manages to fixate on her butt. 2/5

Ashen One (Dark Souls 3) -  A broad-shouldered woman. A tall woman. A perfect woman. She can backhand me with her shield any day. 5/5

Bayonetta (Bayonetta 2) - I know this is on purpose. I understand. But that doesn’t stop me from worrying about the structural integrity of this woman’s spine. Is she alright? Does she need my chiropractor’s contact details? 0/5

The Hunter (Bloodborne) - this long-limbed lady has no hip sway but she also has no bridge with which to cross the uncanny valley. Her elbows and knees don’t work properly. Her spidery animation haunts my dreams. 3/5

Boss (Saints Row 4) - we have another lifeless jogger on our hands, but what she lacks in animation quality she makes up for in personality. Honestly, I’m too busy laughing at her dialogue to care. 3/5 

Faith Connors (Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst) - The quickest girl. The sleekest girl. I am bereft of her running animation thanks to the first person perspective. ?/5

Emily Kaldwin (Dishonored 2) - Bethesda made this game in first person because this murder child would melt the screen with her swagger. However she has Schrodinger’s hip sway, and we’ll never know the truth. Probably for the best. ?/5

Amanda Ripley (Alien Isolation) - This woman runs like her life depends on it, and she knows her way around a flamethrower to boot. Taking this game out of first person to show her run animation would cheapen the experience of the genuine horror of being in her shoes. ?/5

Chell (Portal 1 and 2) - they say her upper body moved once millenia ago, and since then her spine has been reinforced with tungsten so that now she floats among us like a ghost strung from a coat hangar. Her only saving grace is the excellent plot and first person perspective. ?/5
