When you see your mutual's f/o being shipped with a canon character

Imagine you wake up in the middle of the night but when you reach for your F/O, they’re not there. Their side of the bed is cold and empty. They’ve been gone a while.

You drag a blanket around your shoulders, disgruntled at the late hour and Not Happy about having to hunt down your cuddle buddy in the middle of the night. 

You check the kitchen first, in case they’re raiding the snacks.

Nothing.

As you shuffle past the living room, you notice a faint glow in the corner of the otherwise completely dark room. Your F/O is hunched over a laptop, face illuminated by the light from the screen. Their eyes are rimmed with red and their hair (if they have any) is a mess. They went to bed with you, hours ago, but it doesn’t look like they slept at all.

You flick on the light. “What are you doing?”

They glance up but they don’t explain right away.

“I was just…doing some research. Let’s go back to bed.”

You flop down beside them, draping a corner of your blanket around them.

“You’re evading my question and not doing a very good job of it. So spit it out.”

Then you notice the laptop screen. The myriad of articles on mental health. The same mental health issues you’ve been struggling with for…too long.

You pull back to look at your F/O, confused as to why they’re looking this up in the middle of the night. 

“I wanted to help,” your F/O says. “To understand better, what you deal with every day. You’re so strong and you’re doing really good on your own, I know, but…I just don’t want you to think you have to go through this alone. Because you don’t. I want to be there for you, in any way I can.”

Your F/O comforting you after a sleep paralysis episode. (Or just after any sleep disorder, hallucinations etc.) They caress your face, stroke your hair, maybe kiss your cheeks, and hold your hand. They quietly reassure you whilst you come out of this state of mind. They let you know that you are okay, that it wasn't real and that nothing is going to happen to you.
