Pre-flight post

I have recently gotten my first passport, and I know to most of the people who will lead this 23 is an odd age for the first passport. Well, that is simply because I haven't needed one. My family would always holiday in the UK so there was no point in getting one, and I thought that a drivers licence would be more useful... I don't know how to drive either. 

Traveling s something that I have always wanted to do but never really found my way to doing it. Now I’m doing my masters degree at Uni and having met some absolutely amazing friends there I want to see the world even more (as one of my best and closest friend is from The Netherlands). That is where I am going. Not a long journey but having never really been on a plane when my friends are telling me what it is like to fly, the feeling you get when the plane takes off at full speed... my brain won't let me imagine what it feels like. and in a way I'm grateful for that. I want to experience it in the moment and not something my imagination has cooked up for me to feel. I am more than nervous to fly, so much so I'm writing this post 2 days before I leave. 

But I'm more excited to see what the world looks like from the sky. What some people might not even think to look at now, what i have seen so many times through a screen. I’m excited to be amongst the clouds, flying.
