Zuko and his family have been big name ballet dancers for generations, going all the way back to Sozin.

Azula is a ballet prodigy.

She went pro in Ozai’s company at 17.

She earns her first lead role at 18 and by 19, she’s a world-renowned prima ballerina (extremely young, most primas are mid-20s).

Zuko began dancing as soon as he could walk and Ozai put a lot of pressure on him to be the best.

He is a jumping master.

Because of the difference in talent and success, Zuko was left to the sidelines, left to work even harder to gain his father’s attention, let alone pride.

Zuko didn’t go pro until 19. 

He got his first lead role until 21, but this was overshadowed by Azula being named prima ballerina.

Sokka and Katara are both contemporary dancers.

They’re partners and as a duo, they’re rocking to dance scene. 

Sokka and Katara are the big name dancers, the two of them having a massive social media following.

They’re part of a dance group with the rest of the gaang.

Toph specializes in hip hop.

Suki is a hip hop/contemporary fusion girl.

Aang is a contemporary dancer (who is known for his jumps/flips). 

Suki/Sokka (+Toph) are secondary partners as well as Aang/Katara.

after the war is over and the gaang has been vibing in the fire nation for a a few weeks sokka and katara decide it's time for them to go home to help their dad at the southern water tribe. during those weeks zuko and sokka became pretty close and the thought of sokka leaving made zuko kinda sad. so zuko (being the impulsive 'yet more mature than he used to be' guy he is) randomly decides he's going to go with them (of course sokka is more than happy to bring him along) once he's there sokka gets to teach him all about watertribe culture. the food, belief system, and the way they train their warriors. basically zuko becomes an honerary water tribe warrior and helps sokka rebuild the southern tribe and protect it from ozai supporters/attackers. he even wears the armor (which sokka thinks looks VERY good on him). both of them fight with swords because zuko's firebending is a little weak in cold climates, plus that way they're much more in sync with they're fighting.

an aang headcanon ~

- aang learned how to brade/twist string with monk gyatso

- he uses this knowledge to make tons of friendship bracelets, anklets or necklaces for his friends (as seen when he makes katara the necklace)

- he usually uses plant fibers/lost bits of string or rope

- most of the gaang are used to the small braided gifts of friendship except zuko

- the first time aang made him one after he joined them, zuko was surprised. it meant a lot to him though because the gift made him feel like aang was really his friend and he lowkey never takes it off his wrist

- aang also applied this skill to hair and it worked pretty well

- katara LOVES when aang braids her hair bc its so calming, plus it looks really pretty afterwords

- she especially loves when he braids flowers into her hair

the zukka moment we didn't know we needed

So I was trying my hair up with a scrap of Jersey fabric left over from making a whale plushie for my pregnant sister in law/future nibling and I realized that I put my hair up in the little doubled pony tail/top knot thing that Zuko wears but with a blue tie dye strip of fabric and so have this idea that popped into my head:

Zuko is tired in the morning but has an early diplomatic meeting so he just grabs a hair tie and puts his hair up and leaves Sokka to keep sleeping in their bed. Only he grabbed Sokka's very blue hair tie and spends the entire meeting in his most comfortable (cause it's too early for this shit) but still very gold and red firelord robes with this VERY BLUE hair tie in his hair and all the diplomats are like <_< cause...do they tell him? Do they ignore it?

Afterwards, Aang, who is visiting for this meeting is like "Zuko you're wearing one of Sokka's hair ties is that on purpose?" And Zuko has a minute of silent horror and then asks Aang if he'll please open a hole in the earth so he can throw himself in it while Aang laughs and tells him its okay, he thinks it's cute that they share hair ties.
