Ignis regarded the man suspiciously, a frown pulling at his lips. For a moment, he wasn't certain what to say to the messenger. He was well aware he should be polite to the man, and how powerful he was, even if his own inclination was not to be particularly devout. Nor did he appreciate someone criticizing Noctis so harshly.
"His Highness is still young. I have faith that when the time comes, he will be able to rise to the challenge. Nor, I assure you, will he be facing it alone."
Bahamut tilted his head to the side at that. "You consider him young still? He is not a hatchling any longer," it was the wrong term to use, but that was how he viewed it. The young Prince was close to adulthood. If he did not take responsibility, when would he possibly learn?
"There are some things he will be forced to face alone. You are his retainer and are expected to help him, but you cannot lessen the burden upon his shoulders. He must learn to carry it on his own," at the end of the day, it would be the True King's sacrifice that would bring back the dawn. It was not a burden that could be shared.
|| and on that note, i should really get to bed since it's like... 1:30 am xD (which might explain the chaos lmao)
"You should ask Lunafreya. She might fall for it." Oh no. He had a feeling it was another trap, but-- "...Ligondese?"
"Lig-on-dese nuts." Bahamut is smiling. He's very happy that it worked.
"Well, depends on what you've learned from our connection." An amused snort at that. "Having a sense of humour will definitely help in the long run."
"More than you realise," and he left it at that, not explaining further. "Hm... very well. I will study these forms of jokes and make use of them in conversations. Is the ligma one a good one to use?"
"Oh no. I'm not falling into this trap."
"Ah. No matter, I suppose it was worth an attempt. On another note, did you know that Shiva is capable of speaking Ligondese? I thought the language had died out."
"Bold of you to assume that I want to lick your balls." Well, he kind of does, but... there's other things he'd rather do first...
"Is it bold? Or do I simply know you?" He questioned, a small smirk on his face. "No matter. I will investigate human jokes further. I certainly have much to learn."
He isn't snickering at all.
"Do you have ligma?"
"It was a joke. Bit of wordplay." Shaking his head a little. "Think about it a moment."
"Oh." Bahamut stops for a just a moment to think about it. "... I believe I understand, though I don't find it particularly funny. I have no desire to lick your balls. You on the other hand..."
Wait, did he just--- Genesis facepalms.
"Oh, Minerva above. You really do have a lot of things to learn about human society."
Bahamut blinks. "Well, that was why I asked in the first place. Did I misunderstand?"
"I already told you. Ligma balls." He's trying to suppress his laughter right now.
"Oh, I see. Is that perhaps it's extended scientific term? It's a bit of an odd choice, but I suppose I cannot judge."
@poeticphoenix
"Ligma... what?" Bahamut is staring very judgmentally at Genesis right now. "Do you truly intend to make light of a deadly disease?"
|| the temptation to fuck around with bahamut is immense rn
"I still don't quite understand what a 'six nine' is."
He'd only been told exactly what ShinRa's scientists wanted him to know, and so he was unable to offer much more of an explanation. Still, Bahamut was willing to go in the labs and get the information at least. "That might actually work out in our favour. Even with your blessing, I do still have my limits. I can at least suggest that you look for any files pertaining to mako infusions and the SOLDIER program at the very least..." It wasn't much guidance, but it was all he had.
When they got to his apartment building, he couldn't help but chuckle a little as people scattered. Once he was off the back of the summon, he took the materia that Bahamut had offered, nodding to him. "He'll be well looked after under my care."
With that, he spun on his heel and led his God into the apartment block, and a short elevator ride later they were on the right floor. Leading the way to his apartment door, he unlocked it and led Bahamut inside. "Well, welcome to my abode. It's not exactly the tidiest..." -- oh sweet Goddess Minerva above he's noticed the clothes scattered on the floor and the piles of dishes in the sink, curse his executive dysfunction -- "... but, this is my place... and I suppose your place now, too." He pointed out the doors to the bathroom and his personal bedroom, along with the bookshelves he had and the TV for entertainment. "Care for some coffee?"
[@poeticphoenix]
"Hmm, that might be for the best then. I will look into it once I get back from the Northern Crater," he decided with a nod of his head, glad that Genesis wasn't afraid of admitting his limits to him. It made it much easier to make plans. Genesis only had to focus on keeping himself healthy and keeping an eye on his fellow SOLDIERs until they knew more about this disease.
Bahamut followed after his chosen, looking around with clear curiosity as they entered the elevator, though to him it looked like a very odd contraption โ even more so when it started moving. He supposed humans had become very good at overcoming their own shortcomings. They couldn't fly or since they had a need for tall structures, this was their way of solving the problem of transportation. It was very fascinating.
Once they were in his apartment, he once again looked around. "My place?" he questioned, surprised. He didn't actually need a place to sleep or be like Genesis, though if he wanted to play human it might be for the best. "Thank you." He recognised the books and what was obviously clothing, but there were a lot of things he hadn't seen before in the other's apartment. "Coffee? I am unfamiliar with it, but I am willing to give it a try," he replied, idly wondering what Genesis planned on serving him.
Overall it was a nice place to live โ though much more extravagant in comparison to how the Cetra had lived. Much further away from nature. He had noticed that Midgar seemed to greatly lack nature's touch, which was concerning. Such a thing wasn't natural.
Bahamut is capable of making clones of himself. Do with that information what you will.
โHeโs more of a healer than I am! Even if it comes from science instead of your bullshit. Iโm no more healer then any other Lucis Caelumโ He growled,ย โWhat exactly needs white magic specifically any way? Last time I checked gods of war werenโt experts on that.โ
If the god thought baiting Ardyn with Luna would work, he was wrong. He was fairly certain that he could finagle her surviving if they pissed of Bahamut enough. Get him to take it in and then murder the bastard once and for all. He wasnโt sure why Bahamut had spent millennia to get Ardyn to do it, but it was enough evidence for him to believe it would keep him from changing the script. He had let Luna and the rest of the team know already, everyone was set up to work around. As long as everything went right.ย
โYou never acknowledged what I told you, by the by.โ He added,ย โHave you acknowledged how many creatures will go extinct, the large portion of humans that will die? Or is your whole goal to make a soft reset?โย
If Bahamut was the type, he would've likely rolled his eyes at this point. "I care little of your opinion," he replied, voice calm. He was God of War, yes, but he was more than that. He was also the leader of the Astrals and the lead protector of the planet. Mortals came and went, but there was only one planet.
"What is your point?" he questioned and his voice was almost genuine curious. "The planet will be fine without humans and just as fine without those creatures. If you die out, it will make way for something new. It is the way of the world." He had seen humans die left and right โ he hardly saw the difference between then and now. If left unchecked, the scourge would kill anything anyways. He could not allow that to happen.
"If you will not do you duty, then perhaps it is for the best. If humans cannot look beyond their emotions to do what will benefit the planet, what claim can you possible demand to have on it?"
