Near is a young detective and a member of the Paranormal Affairs Bureau. He's investigating a large-scale curse incident happening in Sumida City, after the death of a fellow detective. During the investigation he obtains a curse stone.

//i think this curse is a pretty good match for him because in the warehouse near uses light's plan against him. also, it works only against hostile curse bearers, when they try to use their curses on you, so it's purely for defense. near might just threaten to use it.

#death note #higuchi kyosuke #which higuchi is your favorite???#i like the tied up one from the top picture and the one on the ground on the bottom pic #i want to draw him in distress more #yknow what i struggle with? i really love how he's drawn in the manga but i have trouble copying it... if i draw him too differently from #the existing panels i'm like “it doesn't look like him!” but if i reference them too closely then i feel like i didn't create nothing new #and i also have an issue with adding wrinkles #i absolutely love how he looks in the manga and the expressions he makes but if i try adding more lines to his face it feels like too much!#in obata's drawings it looks so subtle and perfect but in mine it always looks like too much and makes higuchi look too old!! so i skip it #i know it has to do with line weight and stuff like that but i can't do this!!! my lines have one weight #it's also visible in his cheekbones. in the manga they're shaded and just look better. and my version looks too harsh #sorry for the rant lol #i'm actually mostly ok with how i draw him and i know i'm comparing myself to a skilled mangaka lol #maybe the answer is thinner lines?? but i love drawing thick... it's easier for me
